But the truth is far more shocking - in London's darkest corners, she is Chase, the mysterious, unknown founder of the city's most legendary gaming hell. For years, her double identity has gone undiscovered - until now.
Brilliant, driven, handsome-as-sin Duncan West is intrigued by the beautiful, ruined woman who is somehow connected to a world of darkness and sin. He knows she is more than she seems, and he vows to uncover all of Georgiana's secrets, laying bare her past, threatening her present, and risking all she holds dear - including her heart.
Members Reviews:
Narrator so bad it's unlistenable
What didnt you like about Justine Eyres performance?
12 hours of vocal fry! Every single word is extremely gravelly for no reason, and a fake accent that sounds worse at the end of every sentence she drawls out!
Really awful narrator!
What would have made Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover better?
A different narrator for a start.
I don't know what she thought she was reading or who she was reading to, but her sing song intonations and prissy voice really spoilt this much anticipated addition to the Rogues.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I couldn't finish this book though I did persevere because I realise it sometimes takes a while until one finds the rhythm of a narrator. But I was so put off by this narration that I gave up.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Justine Eyre?
Rosalyn Landor. Justine Eyre would do well to have a listen to how well a story can be presented by listening to Rosalyn Landor. I thought perhaps she had taken her lead from Susan Duerden, she of the sing song prissy voice brigade that I find so off putting and have learnt to avoid.
Any additional comments?
I will have to purchase the ebook and read it because I have enjoyed the series so far.
Should have kept the same narrator!!! Arrrgh!!
Any additional comments?
I loved the previous 3 books. The story in this one would have probably been better if the narrator didn't WHINE out every other word!! She really made it difficult to get through. Was Rosalyn Landor unavailable? or were they just trying to save some money? Either way, they should have made the necessary concessions.
Justine Eyre is not a horrible narrator. I've listened to some of her other stuff. It's just... when she does an English accent, it's too extra/overdone, slow and annoyingly whiny.
Slow story, worse narrator
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Not sure who would enjoy it. The narrator did a poor job. The three books before had more adventure in them and the narrator, made each character come to life.
Would you ever listen to anything by Sarah MacLean again?
Yes she I a great author, it was all about the narrator in this book. Slow and no life to characters
How did the narrator detract from the book?
She never made us feel like we were there. Couldn,t feel what was happening.
You didnt love this book...
