As a string of horrific incidents tears apart their community, an arsonist's wrath threatens to destroy them all. With Aaron as the only suspect, Sarah must follow her instincts to find the truth. But to protect an innocent man, she might risk her heart to Aaron again...and risk her life to an unknown killer.

I enjoyed this book very much
I enjoyed this book very much. Marta has a ability in her writing to develop characters till you feel you know them. You are drawn into the story and into their lives, and soon you are pulling for them, when they are going through tough circumstances. You find yourself wanting to support them, and see what happens next. The suspense builds well, and it really keeps you reading, unable to put the book down until you see what happens next.|
This is book 2 in the series and the main characters are Sarah and Aaron. They were once friends as children and now they are grown. Sarah always cared deeply for Aaron but he married another young woman and they had 2 children together. She passed away later on, and now in this story you see the relationship develop between Aaron and Sarah as Sarah is to some degree stalked by a mystery person who is trying to hurt her or even kill her because of some nefarious reason. Aaron becomes more protective of her and as he does he realizes what a wonderful woman she has become and how sweet and loving she is to his daughters and his heart begins to open up to her.
Sarah has accepted her lot in life as a unmarried woman but she does still look at Aaron with eyes of love and shyness whenever he is around. As the story unfolds she is working in a quilt shop and restores old quilts and makes new ones, her lot in life seems to be a daily routine that is well established. Then trouble comes in their lives in the entrance of a mystery, barns burning down, and Sarah discovers the first one. Someone is plotting to get the land sold through burning down buildings and there is a mystery company bidding for them, and no one knows how they want to develop the land. Sarah, because she was first to discover the first fire, comes under the scrutiny of the person who set the fires and he is now trying to hurt her or kill her.
Truly this book is a wonderful read, and you just feel as if you know each person, and honestly it seems like it would be a lovely place to live.
I have read several of Marta Perry's books, and I have never been disappointed. They are always the kind of book that keeps you reading long into the night, until your eyes no longer want to stay open. The characters endearing and well developed, the plot line one with twists and unexpected turns. The book a worthy read. I hope you will try this and see what a great story teller Marta is.
    I Recommend the Whole Series
    I've loved this series.

    Deadlock
Great series. I enjoyed this story of two FBI agents who approach investigations completely different. How these differences made them an even better team. I always enjoy the small glimpses of God in these stories as well. Narrator was outstanding. As always looking forward to more by this author and hope the same narrator is used.
    Another good Christian mystery!
    Any additional comments?
Again I thoroughly enjoyed the Christian foundation of this book, the mystery of "who done it", and I really liked the family relationships in this one. Narrator was great again, really enjoy her work!

When she finally surrenders her heart, will it be too late?

Like a Love Song is a romantic drama about a fiercely loyal woman and some castaway kids who need the courage to believe in a love that never fails.
    Critic Reviews:
"In her sophomore novel, Camille Eide has penned a beautiful tale with just the right chords of humor and tenderness. The prose of
Like a Love Song is lovely, and the myriad twists and turns tugged at my heart as I was rooting for this cast of endearing characters. The splendor and raw beauty of Oregon's high desert is the perfect backdrop for this gripping love story. It's one you don't want to miss" (Carla Stewart, award-winning author of

    Great story!
Excellent storytelling and superb narration! Sue, Joe, Bertie, and all the kids fight to save Juniper Ranch. Their experiences of abandonment pulled my heartstrings and their resilience is inspiring.
I won this title in a giveaway. The opinions expressed are my own.
    More than a Love Story
If you could sum up Like a Love Song in three words, what would they be?
    Beautiful, engaging, heartfelt
Who was your favorite character and why?
Joe was my favorite character because a) dreamy sigh, b) his history is a sort-of picture of a character from all the way back in Genesis, and c) his relationship with God.
    Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene - Joe taking a rather drugged Sue home from the clinic after her knee surgery. Adorably cute :)
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes! Becky Doughty did a great job again with voices, especially Chaz! Ah! His lisp, my heart! :)
    A heartwarming, inspiring, compelling romance!
I loved this book! Susan Quinn, social worker turned surrogate mom to foster teens, is a very strong, compelling character. She uses her past to push her to do everything she can for the kids in her care and to relate to them on a level that others can't. When she reaches the end of her rope, she turns to the only option that seems available, a brawny handyman with a guitar and a relationship with a God he keeps calling Father. However, this handyman also has a past and is on a mission of his own. As the sparks fly between them, can these two work together to save the group home and be there for the kids in her care? Or will their pasts catch up to them and tear them apart?
The kids in this story will break your heart! I loved the interactions Susan and Joe had with these kids and the way they were able to relate to them and help them. Their individual personalities shine through and you'll root for their happy ending.
This book is very well written with plenty of drama, a little bit of mystery, an endearing romance and an emotional, inspirational, compelling story-line.

    great read
I really enjoyed this book. It's funny, clean, and just an all around good read.
    Very Boring Story
The plot is too dumb and predictable and boring. there is no depth in character not interesting at all, it feels like the characters are saying the same thing over and over, BORING.... I've only listened to about 2 hours of it but won't be finishing this story it's just a waste of my time. The narrator did an okay job.

    Members Reviews:
Excellent Christian Romance and Excellent Book.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, this is a fabulous book. It is written skillfully in that you don't much like the Bible salesman at first. You see him very much through Missy's eyes as a self-righteous little twerp. The author changes your view of him right along with Missy's.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Missy and her father are tied for my favorite character. Although Curler Head is definitely in the running. Missy is a kind and devoted daughter living with her father after her mother's untimely death. She is hardworking, spunky and a fabulous at fixing cars. It is difficult not to like her. Her father, John, is a gruff, charismatic character. He is an excellent hands-on father who cares deeply for his children.
What does Stacey Glemboski bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
She gives an excellent performance and brings each of the characters to life. She is very good at both the male and female characters and switches between the two seamlessly.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The book is very well written with many moving scenes. My favorite would definitely be when Missy first meets "the Bible salesman." I also really enjoyed the fishing scene with Curler Head.
    Any additional comments?
This is an excellent book. It is clean and family friendly. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
Another outstanding Sherri Schoenborn Murray book
Fried Chicken & Gravy, my fifth read from author Sherri Schoenborn Murray. A wonderful Christian romance set in the 1970's that was a thoroughly entertaining book that I very much enjoyed reading/listening to. The narrator did such a wonderful job of narration. If I see Sherri Schoenborn Murrays name on the book Im guaranteed a good read, this one was so good that when my wife walked in on me listening to it we finished the book together and I just finished downloading all of the author's books I own onto her Kindle for her to read.
    Great Read
LOVED this Christian romance novel. I don't like to read many romance novels these days because of the vulgar content. This book is clean and definitely worth the time and money. It also shows the beauty in being reborn-filled with His love and joy.
    Such a sweet story!
This is the second of Sherry Schoenborn Murray's books I've purchased. My husband listened to it with me over the course of a couple of weeks. A refreshing escape from turning on the TV or Netflix! Just bought our third and can't wait to get started listening!
PS. The narration was great, too! Loved that each character had his/her own "voice". :)
    Cute & Fun
Loved the light hearted humor mixed with faith. Can't wait for more from this author!

Eden Martelli is too busy fleeing the clutches of danger to realize she's running straight into the arms of a new love.
Speeding north through rural Maine, Eden Martelli wonders how her life came to this - on the run with her mute five-year-old son dozing fitfully in the passenger seat. When a breakdown leaves them stranded in Summer Harbor, Eden has no choice but to stay put through Christmas...even though they have no place to lay their heads.
Beau Callahan is a habitual problem solver - for other people anyway. He left the sheriff's department to take over his family's Christmas tree farm, but he's still haunted by the loss of his parents and struggling to handle his first Christmas alone.
When Eden shows up looking for work just as Beau's feisty aunt gets out of the hospital, Beau thinks he's finally caught a break. Eden is competent and dedicated - if a little guarded - and a knockout to boot. But, as he soon finds out, she also comes with a boatload of secrets.
Eden has been through too much to trust her heart to another man, but Beau is impossible to resist - and the feeling seems to be mutual. As Christmas Eve approaches, Eden's past catches up to her.
Beau will go to the ends of the Earth to keep her safe. But who's going to protect his heart from a woman who can't seem to trust again?

    Love Denise Hunter
Her own fear held her captive.
This is my second Denise Hunter read, and she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her romances are so good, and so far there has been a little mystery thrown in to keep you interested. I loved how this one took a turn I was not expecting, and I cannot wait to read book two in the series.
This is marked as Christian Fiction, but do not put off by that. She does use some Religion in her stories, but they are not overpowering or overdone in my opinion. I really want more people to give her work a chance. I am loving everything so far.
    Love love love this one!
This is one of my favorite books! I chose to listen to this audiobook as a reread because I've read the story in print a couple of times and I love it so much, but I had never listened to it before. This is also the first time that I've reread it since I've completed the entire series.
I loved it all over again. In fact, I loved it even more because I noticed little hints and details that meant more to me this time than they did the first time that I read, now that I know the story on all of the characters.
This story features Beau Callahan and Eden Martelli, as well as Eden's son Micah. Eden has shown up in Beau's small town of Summer Harbor, Maine with her young son in tow, and no one knows anything about her except that she needs a job and that she is fiercely protective of her child. Beau needs some help around the house and ends up employing her. While the two have a very slow-burning romance that buds, the story of why Eden is on the run slowly unfolds.
This is very much a story of family relationships-with a great, great setting. The Callahan Brothers are awesome and I loved getting to know them and their relationship to the town. Beau, in particular, is very easy to connect with as a character because he has such a good heart. He does find himself in quite a predicament where his romantic feelings are concerned, and only part of this is because Eden has a difficult time trusting other people.

In the days of ancient Israel, Hannah is a woman oppressed. Her once-hopeful marriage is a nightmare, her husband Levi is violently abusive. Hannah believes it is because she is barren, and if she could only give him a child, all would be well. But no child comes, and she does not know how long she can possibly endure. She prays for release and after six long years of Levi's cruelty, he suddenly drowns. Hannah is finally free, free to heal her body and spirit. But she has forgotten brother-in-law marriage, and Levi has a brother. Far from being free, she is given to Joshua, whom she barely knows, and Hannah fears being plunged once more into the nightmare she just left.
Joshua is a virtual stranger for one reason. He fell in love with Hannah the day she married his brother, and he has kept his secret, and his distance. Now he has what he always dreamed; he has his brother's wife. It seems too good to be true, that God has given him his dream. Surely there must be punishment for his coveting.
Indeed there is. All is not well, not with Hannah nor with the farm he inherits with her. Joshua faces a mystery that he must unravel, and in the doing risks losing everything he thought he knew about this brother he loved before Levi's plot traps both Hannah and himself.

Joshua has loved Hannah since the day she married his brother 6 long years ago, but said nothing. According to the Law, he must marry her after the brother's death, so that a child can inherit his property. This is the story of how they each come to deal with the after effects of an abusive first marriage, and the unfolding treachery of the dead man.
I enjoyed this. As the story unfolds, we see how each of the characters changes and grows as Hannah learns to trust, and Joshua comes to understand just what kind of person the brother he loved really was.
The narrator had a good steady pace which suited the book. Each character was clearly recognisable. without any of the unnecessary exaggerations sometimes used to denote characters of the opposite sex. There were a few rather odd pronunciations, but not enough to distract from the story.
All in all, well worth listening to.
