This is a great series fo books

This is a great series fo books, with kids growing up during WW2. Charlie was a mentor to these kids, but sadly died from cancer, when we knew little about how to stop Cancer.

Charlie comes back as a "Spirit" to watch over our kids & keep them on the straight & narrow. You will love it

Perhaps one of my favorite things about this book was Charlie Pitts- the ghostly narrator that introduces the reader to the next installment of the Pompey Hollow Book Club Adventures. At the time of this story, Charlie Pitts is a spirit or guardian angel- not a ghost mind you, according to his preference, but still happy to do all the ghostly things when necessary. While he doesn't influence the kids of the Pompey Hollow Book Club-- who are growing and maturing into teenagers now-- it's still fun to see him puff up with pride at the mention of his name by the group or provide soft hints here and there to get them going in the right direction.

This is a book with multiple aspects and layers, and it can be a more difficult read. It also touches on a number of subjects- suicide, robbery, disease, and homelessness that make for some intense reading time. It's definitely not a book for an easy summer read but given how well the story is woven together it is well worth the effort of doing so.

One minor drawback to the story that I found was that sometimes it seemed like too much was going on for one book.

I love a good underworld crime saga and this is one of the best!! If you like Martina and Lynda La Plante then this is for you.

Love story, gruesome crime, sexual diviants the lot.... all combined into a great read.

The Eastend historic aspect gave it another spin that created interest, that was acurate to the ninth degree.

Good Story ........poorly written

This was a good story but the writing and editing let it down . The time line was off - annoying and glaringly.....black eyes just don't last for 9 months !

A lot of the mistakes - which really do take away from a great yarn - should have been picked up and corrected .... This is the first book I have read by Jessie Keane I will try another but if it is as poor in the continuity I will be very disappointed and will not give a third book the time.

Highly recommend. Once started could not put down. To me it was like a Martina Cole story only not quite so horrific.The first one I have read. Was also recommended by another Jessie Keane fan.I will carry on and read all her stories, now that I have found another great author.Its great to be able to see all her books on Amazon.

A great release from newly published author Matthew Cash. His career and reputation destroyed, entertainer Diddy Dave is seeking revenge. The author tells a great back story on Dave and his captives. This is not a Saw knock off, this tale is unique. The author writes his own version of torture, it is delightfully extreme. Hope to see much more from this author in the not to distant future.

Let the games begin!

Great story. I loved how the author introduced the characters in the beginning and how it told the backstory of Diddy Dave Diamond. This story is full of scenes of torture, but had enough plot to keep it fast paced. One 'game' in particular was unforgettable and probably the most unique and disturbing torture scenes I've read all year. And the ending... Unexpected and perfect.

I would definitely read more from this author.

Karma's a Bitch!

An excellent tale of revenge! So often people do or say things without thinking of the repercussions, usually presuming there won't be any... Yet if their past does catch up with them they just might find that blood money, when being collected upon in blood, becomes a price nobody will want to pay or are able to pay back without paying the ultimate price! Well written book I would recommend to others.
