Loved it

So much love and romance , great family meddling and true love for each other. Wade and Samantha show through each others past lives that two can truly find the way to a happily ever after.

incredulous and indignantly boring

I have read other books from this author and thought they were good. I really wish she could stop using the words incredulous and indignant in any form!!! It makes me feel like I'm back in elementary school looking up words to replace others using a thesaurus. I have noticed this in other recent novels by Ms. Woods as well. Her Ocean Breeze series is a good concept and I wanted to like the books. The stories lack depth. They are repetitive and become boring shortly after starting the book. I understood that the family wanted Samantha and Ethan to end up together but I don't need it repeated over and over and over and over! Annoying huh?

So-So

I did not enjoy this book as much as "Windchime Point". There was just too much silly dialogue among the sisters. Also, Ethan and his mental hang-ups got on my nerves. All in all, it was average.

Would like to see one more in this series where Sam Castle and Sophia get married. Also Jerry and Cora Jane.

Great Beach Read

Sherryl Woods manages to pull you right in with each novel in this series. I have enjoyed the three Ocean Breeze novels and am truly hoping for more. This is Ethan and Samantha's story but it really deals with the whole group of the Ocean Breeze characters. It helps to have read the first two as the story refers back to the happenings but each novel has its own story and is beautifully told. The sisters in this book are as close as sisters can be and always have each other's back even when they have issues with each other. I like that they have no problem laying it all out there whether good or bad and then standing back and hoping for the best. Cora Jane was my favorite character of all three books she has such a strong love for her girls and by extension their men. The romance in this book is definitely a slow burn, but oh so worth it. I hope that eventually we will get stories for Sam (their dad) and one for Cora Jane.

What did you love best about Noah: 5th Street, Book 1?

I love how the friends in the story stick by each no matter what. That is how friends and family should be, devoted.

I have read a my fair share of books and can't remember of one that compares. This is a refreshing story since I haven't read one similar.

What about Coleen Marlos performance did you like?

I felt like a friend was telling me a story about something that happened to someone she knows.

This is good read. I like that this is a refreshing story, different. There is a lot of drama. This is for drama junkies. Happy reading!

AHHHHHH! So frustrated!

This has so many great great qualities. The only thing I really didn't like was the lack of smexing. It is supposed to be a romance novel... where was the romance... These two great characters just revolved around each other for so long... that the only smex scene between them was the very very very last chapter! I mean like the like 7 sentences.! I was sooo p.o. The angst was so so... No heart pounding moments. You already know these two will hook up... it is sooo obvious, especially when he moves into her house...but come on... NO smexing at all. Well Noah did...once...just not with the MF character. Frustrated.

Narration was great...

Credit because of lack of smexing... you really think you are gonna get hot smex scenes but no...

Story amazing

Loved this book so much, I have read it multiple times. Now have the audio. The reader's voice is not my favorite, but she does a good job. I will probably listen again some day.

This Madaris episode does not let you down! The love, the secrecy, and the style of Brenda's writing keeps you intrigued. Pete Ohms is The BEST narrator ever!!!!!!!!

The storyline alone was great. The passion bewteen the main charactors was intense. However Brenda passed over opportunities to make the story more exciting in at least two cases..maybe more. The father daughter angle, Diamond and her ex-husband, the search for the camera man, Dex's ex-wife. Dont want to give too much away but Imagine a crime show where they caught the suspect without a chase all the time. I'd sit back ready for the ride and then sat up straight like what the what? lol Pete is a great narrator over all but his voice needs more fluctuation at times; not just a breathy falsetto.

The Rogue

This is a wonderful book, that I have read numerous times. One of my all time favorites. I f your looking for a good book, I highly recommend it.

What would have made The Rogue better?

I had a hard time listening to this. At times the narrator was so soft you could not understand.

The book is very interesting and keeps interest but the reader is choppy and over articulates her words. Sadly the reader takes away from a very good story.

great book

I love catherine,s boooks, they keep you interested and you donqt want to stop listening.

A poor finish to a very nice series

I have really enjoyed the Harrigan stories by Catherine Anderson. This is my first on audio, and the narrator was fine. I had trouble suspending my disbelief, and I don't very often struggle with that. I'm usually willing to go where the author takes us, but this one was just off for me. There was not much effort at all toward "updates on the other characters" which was very disappointing. The mention of the brothers is very perfunctory. This book felt like either a contractual obligation or an afterthought somehow.

Another stunning romance from Catherine Anderson

Catherine Anderson is one of my favorite authors. Her books are always compelling, drawing the reader into the story with page turning adventure and romance. I think this book is her first time-travel story. Ceara the druid from 15th century Ireland comes through time to the present. She must marry Quincy the rough and tender cowboy in order to break a curse that is killing his sister in law. The problems that Ceira encounters with modern gadgetry had me laughing out loud as well as feeling sympathy. Anderson's Comanche series remains my favorite but this book is almost as good.

I just wish Audible would carry all of her audio books so that I don't have to strain my eyes reading the paperback versions!

My Musings

What a lovely romance! Truths and Roses captured me from the first page to the last. This is an emotional-charged story with great depth to the characters. I felt that I really knew what made the hero and the heroine tick by the end of the book. It also has an excellent HEA. Happy reading!

*I must say, each time I read a love story by Sandra Brown I am in just as much awe as I was with the last one........ As she sat there alone in a storm, Jordan Hadlock was doing the last thing she wanted to be doing.....thinking. Why? She was happy wasn't she? She had a man who loved her or so he keeps saying but the truth was deep down, she knew that she did not love the spoiled and rich Helmut Eckherdt. Terrble narrator

What disappointed you about Firefly Beach?

The narrator is so terrible I can't even finish the book. Usually if I don't like the narrator the story is good enough that I forget about it and just get lost in the book. Not so with this book. It grieves me to say such awful things. Perhaps if it were a better narrator the book would have been more enjoyable. The book was pretty boring though. I made a mistake in not listening to the sample.

This is not real life.

Back in the 80s when Linda Howard wrote this book, it was one of my favorites for a while. But I hadn't reread it in 10 or 15 years at least. So I was wanting something romantic to listen to last night and I saw that this was now available from Audible. I listened to it straight through. I enjoyed it again, BUT...

You have to take this book with a grain of salt. It appeals to that corner of our souls that wants a powerful man who will "take care of us." If you don't have such a corner in your soul, you won't like this book. If I knew of a real-life situation where a man behaved like this, I would advise the woman involved to call the police and get a restraining order. But in the context of pure fantasy, I was thrilled by his masterful behavior.

Another facet of the story that really appeals to me is that of a woman who is betrayed--in a very powerful and deeply hurtful way--and then the betrayer undoes the betrayal. The betrayal was real, but it is really healed. I have read very few novels with this story line (the only other one that comes to mind was also written by Linda Howard), but it appeals very strongly to something in me.

So you have to consider your own tastes in romance before deciding if you will like this story. Do you like a strong man who takes over in your romance? Do you (at least in your imagination) sometimes want to give up your power and just be taken care of? Then you may like this story a lot. I do.

What would have made The Cutting Edge better?

My bad! I forgot to double check and this is an old book. The performance is good. The story line is trite and the main male character is a chauvinistic pig.

I would make sure it was a brand new release.
