Publisher's Summary:

"Sweet Baby Jane" Perkins has carved out a mega-selling reputation as rock's favorite bad girl. But her hard-living, tough-talking image can't prevent the sharp dose of reality that hits home when her estranged mother is killed in a car accident. As bizarre coincidences escalate in her own life, Janey grows certain that someone is watching her every move, and it's not one of her adoring fans.

Since leaving the Army Rangers six months ago, Jason Wilson has been adrift, a warrior without a war. Now he's taken his first civilian assignment for his army buddy's security firm: protecting a rock diva on her sold-out tour. Far from being a spoiled star, Janey is a revelation - sweet, modest, and incredibly sexy. Their friendship is turning to mutual, heated desire, but it's a distraction that could cost them more than their hearts.

Drawn into the depths of a deadly secret, they'll face off against a killer growing more ruthless every day, and Jase will discover just how far he'll go to protect an explosive passion he never expected.

Members Reviews:

Excellent!

I'm a big fan of the "Bodyguard series" of this author and have now read all of the installments of this series. Not in order though, which works out fine since Cindy Gerard always makes perfect connections to previous books.

I left Jase "Plowboy" Wilson's and Sweet Baby Jane's romance for the end because I wasn't really sure what to make of it since none of the Garrett family members is involved. I won't bother anybody who reads my comments with a summary of the plot since many others have done so perfectly well, just let me tell you that I really enjoyed this book!

The chemistry between the two main characters was great, the sex sizzling (as only Gerard manages) and I very much liked the brief follow-ups on the Garrett brothers.

However, there were some weak points in this book. Sometimes I thought that there were too many sub-characters involved that made the plot slightly chaotic. I also thought that the motive behind the chase and attacks on Sweet Baby Jane were a bit naive and even worse was the fact that an ex-special ops and decorated U.S. Army Ranger (=Jase) didn't perceive earlier that Sweet Baby Jane was tracked.

Never mind and in any case this was a very nice read, with a lot of suspense and a gripping love story between two very likeable people. I can only recommend this and all the other books from the series.

Nice romance with exhausting suspense plot

2.5

I was happy to know that Jason Wilson would get his story told. I liked him when I first met him on Nolan's book (To The Edge) and he didn't disappoint in his book. I liked that there was more to the drunken and beaten Army Ranger Nolan had to save. I liked that he fell down but stood up again. I liked that he joined E.D.E.N and that we got to have this book.

Janey, the sweet rockstarâ I liked her too but it took me half of the book to warm up to her. Luckily she was not one of those heroines that know they need to be careful but put themselves in danger and are TSTL.

And Jason and Janey as a couple were adorable. I liked how it all started as attraction-at-first-sight but as they got to know each other, they become more. It never felt that it had only passed a couple of weeks because their relationship growth felt natural.

So what bothered me? The suspense aspect WAS TOO MUCH and not in a good way.

Publisher's Summary:

Amy Walker endured unspeakable horrors while being held as a hostage before she was rescued by Dallas Garrett and his brothers from E.D.E.N., Inc. Amy is determined to leave the past behind...but only after she gets some answers to the questions that haunt her. Why was she abducted by the terrorists? Why is her mother locked up in a mental institution?

Dallas wants Amy to know he's a man she can trust. He's incapable of offering her his love, but promises his sworn protection while she embarks on her quest to discover the truth about her family...and herself.

Working on a lead, Amy and Dallas team up with an investigative journalist and an unlikely accomplice whose motives are as murky as his past. Soon they are drawn into the depths of a secret organization that practices non-consensual mind-control experimentation - one that Amy's own grandfather appears to be involved in. With a ruthless enemy closing in fast, Amy and Dallas race against time and risk their lives to expose these crimes against humanity...and share a passion neither of them could have expected.

Members Reviews:

Nice ending of the series

When I read "To the Brink" I was really looking forward to reading Dallas' and Amy's story. Now the moment has come and I have to say - not bad at all!

Both main characters carry their psychological baggages and both deal with their problems in different ways. However, it's obvious that Amy has dealt with her horrible experiences from the Philippines in a more pro-active way. OK, I don't know how credible her transformation from victim to battle-ready amazon is, but this didn't really diminish the pleasure of reading her story. On the other hand, Dallas was just great (and a bit more plausible). The caring way he dealt with Amy was very moving and of course in the end she rewarded him for this. I just loved it!

Cindy Gerard is gifted with a very rare talent: she manages very artfully to introduce future main characters in her present plot. In this book she presented Gabe and Jenna so cleverly that these two nearly overshadowed Dallas and Amy. But only nearly, because I wouldn't have wanted to miss their story.

A fast-paced, exciting book. For Gerard-fans an absolute must! If you haven't yet read books from this author you have really missed something!

Different feeling to this book with new characters' introductions

I was really excited to read Dallas and Amy's story and can say it didn't disappoint. I really liked their reunion and them getting to spend time together again. But I felt I didn't get to know them entirely. It was like just touching the surface and not getting into deep. It disappointed me a little.

What disappointed me a lot and what definitely lowers my rating was not having all the Garretts in the mission in Argentina. I understand why Cindy Gerard would use instead the next series hero: that way you get to know him here, but because of that it felt like a different book. Yes, there was Dallas Garrett but it didn't feel like a Bodyguard series book completely.

With this I'm not saying I hated Gabe Jones (the next series hero), on the contrary, I'm intrigued and I especially loved the tiny parts between him and Jenna (the next series heroine).

Okay set

BOOK REVIEW........

This 5 book set was mostly okay. Though I didn't much like the 4th book. I just could not connect with Bobby and Sam. I also did find the sex a bit much. But over all It was a nice set

NARRATOR REVIEW......

I was not really a big fan of the narrator. I thought she sounded to peppy, bouncy and young. It got a bit annoying at times so I took longer to listen to it then it normally takes me. I kept putting it down and reading other books in between.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

romance collection

This is a 5 book collection of different stories of billionaires that fall in love when they least expect it or want it. Each book had its own storyline and kept you interested. The pace for each of the books was good considering there were so many so that you were not bored of listening.

I would recommend it as a good listen.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

All of the stories were well written and developed.

What about Lissa Blackwells performance did you like?

She made the characters come to life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really

Any additional comments?

I got this book via audiobook boom. This collection was good. I have read several of them and was glad to be able to listen to all of them in a row.

Five Story Stories, All Different, All Entertaining

i was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

All five of the stories have differing themes,,mafia...office romance ...something to interest anyone..youll find a favorite among them and enjoy the rest. All strong men and women, some women more than others. Generally I like when the man has to work for her affection.

Plenty of hot and romantic scenes

narrator better in some stories than others but all in all emotion and timing well done. She did a great job with her British accent.

Cheese & no wine... this is bad.

This book should have taken a bit more time to develop the plot to get the reader more involved. Instead, it is so short & jumpy it is more like a low budget soap opera- Over the top & not trying hard enough. Just not satisfying. I expect more out of Patterson, even for a book shot.

Cute quirky story

I love T.J Kline's Avon Romance books, so I took a shot and listened to this book shot while driving around in Texas. This book has it all, the rich Hunk, the bride to be, an overbearing Grandmother, and a car accident that starts any thing in motion!

Length: 2 hrs and 31 mins

Language: English

Release date: 03-06-17

Publisher: Audible Studios

Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 9 votes

Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Publisher's Summary:

Dear Santa: For Christmas this year, no men. Love, Holly.

I may be newly divorced, stranded in a small mountain town, and working as an elf at a cut-your-own-Christmas-tree farm, but I'm finally rid of my ex and putting food on the table. Independence rocks, and I've got zero interest in the former-SEAL-turned-firefighter who literally falls out of the sky and lands at my feet. Okay. Not zero interest. Jacks Benson is the foul-mouthed, irritating, way-too-sexy bad boy who tormented me through high school. He's a player who got any girl he wanted...and now he claims he wants a second chance. A chance at me.

If Jacks is my Christmas present, he'd better come with a gift receipt...because he's on my naughty list and this is definitely not a case of finders-keepers.

Her Christmas SEAL is a standalone novella in the When SEALs Come Home Series.

Narrator

I love the male narrator, the female is too slow. made it hard to listen on her parts.

Horrible Narration

I only got through a few minutes of the story so I cant rate the story. The narration is unbelievably terrible! The female sounds like she is an ancient granny witch trying to tell an old tale. Would give less than one star if possible here.

Josefine Sonnenthal has it all under control. A successful lawyer with a sensible fiancé and big plans for marriage and children, she is sure that everything in her life is going according to plan.

But without a very important family ring - one that may possess mystical powers to doom or bless Josefine's impending marriage - there will be no wedding. And that's why she finds herself on a plane heading to Scotland with her two eccentric great aunts, desperately searching for a wayward cousin who holds the coveted heirloom.

When Josefine finds herself in one near-disaster after another along the Highlands countryside, she repeatedly crosses paths with the handsome but notoriously moody confectioner, Aidan Murray. Enchanted by her lush new surroundings, she tries to resist his rugged charm, but soon she begins to question everything. Does having a plan really mean having it all together? Snow or sunshine

I enjoyed this Christmas wedding inspired story. If something can go wrong it probably will. Such as hard to please parents, the weather of the proposed wedding venue and a broken ankle. When the wedding has to be cancelled and the venue changed from Chicago to Georgia things will start to work out for the best. The narrator did a great job with the characters. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.

5 stars! SUBMIT, part 3 (7). Playboy & mogul Jonathan Drazen's seduction of aspiring singer Monica Faulkner!

"The minute I told you to spread your legs and you did it, you were mine. When I told you to beg for it and you did, you were mine. When you put your hands behind your back without being told, I owned you."

Songs of Submission is the whirlwind saga of aspiring singer Monica Faulkner and hotelier and real estate magnate Jonathan Drazen. Books/novellas should be read in order:

Book 1: Beg

Book 2: Tease

Book 3: Submit

Book 3.5: Jessica & Sharon

Book 4: Control

Book 5: Burn

Book 5.5: Rachel

Book 6: Resist

Book 7: Sing

In Beg, book 1 waitress and aspiring singer Monica Faulkner meets hotelier Jonathan Drazen and they have an instant attraction, but both have demons in their pasts. Whereas Jonathan is open for no-strings-attached sex, Monica is more looking to focus on her career. So Jonathan turns to seduction...

In Tease, book 2 Jonathan and Monica have hooked up for some off-the-charts sex and have come to an agreement that since neither is available they will just enjoy each other casually....

Submit, book 3 is very much a journey for both Jonathan and Monica! Their relationship is evolving and sex is not enough, yet... they find themselves both fighting for and against taking it to another level. Circumstances and vindictive execs are not helping matters. I will say no more as their story is best experienced.

Hero: Jonathan Drazen/32 years/$$$$/hotelier - real estate magnate/auburn-red hair/green eyes/6'2"/art collector.

Seven words to describe Jonathan Drazen: Captivating, enigmatic, private, relentless, in-control, caring and memorable.

"Why do you want to know?" he asked.

"I hate secrets."

"I have secrets I may never tell you."

Heroine: Monica Faulkner/25 years/waitress - aspiring singer - band member "Spoken not stirred"/dark brown hair/dark brown eyes/5"10".

Seven words to describe Monica Faulkner: Focused, talented, loyal, interesting, endearing, witty and strong.

"I knew in every cough and sob, every hitched breath and chest spasm, that he'd hold me together. Whatever fell apart, he'd put right."

I love everything about this series; Jonathan and Monica and the progression of their relationship! Part 3 ends abruptly, but no worries as part 4 is available.

Members Reviews:

Sweet Love Story!

This book was super sweet. I loved seeing the relationship between Ryker & Jackson grow. The beginning of Jackson & Kennedy's relationship was a little odd because it was quick and a little more than just bossy. Their relationship grew on me real quick though. I've really enjoyed this series up to this point and can't wait for the next book!

Narration was great!

Best Audiobook, Story and Narration of 2016

This book will probably shock a lot of people. Most know that I'm all about my smutty reads/listens and paranormal. However, every now and then you stumble upon a book that resembles your life or obstacles you've faced, that you can't help but become one with the book and the characters.

Anne Jolin is such an amazing author, and she really gave me the feels with this book. I spoke a little more about it in my LIVE video yesterday. Both her characters faced life altering circumstances, but regardless of their situations, they found what they needed in each other. Lucy Rivers as Kennedy nailed this performance. I cried, big tears and snot and felt the raw emotions that erupted from Lucy's depiction of Kennedy. In fact, I understood exactly how she felt. Aiden captured Jackson so well and gave me a deeper look into a man who is suffers from a mental illness. I don't know how much research, if any was done, but I felt the pain, the darkness and Jackson's determination to push through past demons. Great delivery by Snow.

Please give the Rock Falls Series a try.
