Loved It

If you could sum up Someday Beach in three words, what would they be?

Marcus, Shelly, Love. I just love this book!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Marcus, he is alpha, sweet, romantic he is the whole package for a book boyfriend.

Any additional comments?

When Shelly buys a run down building she was in need of a contractor, Marcus came recommend by his sister. Marcus comes for a troubled childhood, Shelly comes from a childhood of privilege. When the two get together you will see that there past my be different, but they are also the same. Could this be what they both have been searching for? This is a great short listen, and should not be over looked! Amazing series but they are also standalone and not cliffhangers.

Another good read in this series..

Shelly, only thought she had a bad childhood until she heard Marcuss story. Then she said, my parents sound like saints. And she was right. But, her parents did come around and they did become likable. Tyler, however, was a real piece of work. What a jerk!

Although, like Last Resort, there was no OMG moments this was a great story. A story without angst, a story without someone thinking they werent good enough for the one they loved. I guess what made the story so good was the telling of what Cassey, Marcus, Cole and Roman went through in their youth and the kind of adults they became, loving, caring, all about family. They were all amazing.

There was a little sexual tension in this book and 2 or 3 sex scenes but no horrible swearing to speak of. Damn was used a few times, thats all.

As to the narration: Mr. Samuelson did a worse job on this book that Last Resort. He really sounded more robotic and the women sounded a little more masculine. Five or six times the book said someone laughed and there was no laughter on the narrators part. Or whispering, either. As much as I like this series I might just have to read the other books, rather than listen.

Great beach read that leaves you wanting more!

What a great beach read! Following your heart and going against what your family wishes takes a strong person and that is just who Shelley is! You find yourself wanting Shelley and Marcus to find each other and feel pleasure when they finally come together! Jill Sanders writes in a style that you can relate to the characters and feel as a part of the story.

Sweet Romance

If you could sum up The Wedding Wager in three words, what would they be?

Amazing, Sweet Romance

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Wedding Wager?

I love when the sister shows up at the airport. I just love the bond that was made between them.

Which character as performed by Tiffany Williams was your favorite?

I loved them all, but i do have to say Megan had me from the start.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and it was totally worth the loss of sleep.

This was a great book, I do wish it was a little longer. I just did not want it to end and I'm sad that it is a stand alone book. I guess I will just have to listen again.

Exciting love story

She answered an advert, desperate for a job and he placed the advert, desperate for a wife so he could save his inheritance and that of his siblings.

Well, of course they fall in love and tie the knot but what makes this story so good is the background undertone from the fathers and the bright and kind and logical sensibility of the bride and she has a great sense of humour too.

The groom is a clever and able young man, determined to sort out an ugly mess. There are other characters that help make this an entertaining tale and I found myself laughing out loud from time to time.

All in all, most enjoyable and I'm keen to read or listen to more from this author and narrator. Superb teamwork!

There were times that I laughed out loud. Good thing I was at home when I listened to he story.

I enjoy stories like this. Sometimes, I really get involved in the lives of these characters and I want to know more about what happens to them after the story is over.

Nice Sweet Romance Well Performed Except...

This is a fun romance peppered with drama that has the listener rooting for the unlikely couple. Regina Duke created a cast of memorable characters, including a teenage girl who dresses as a vampire, a young boy addicted to his electronics at too early in age, a vengeful father set on cheating his family out of their inheritance, Cookie the cook and many more.

Of course the two main characters Kevin Wake, who must wed before his 25th birthday or lose his inheritance/trust and Megan Mully, child of preacher/missionary parents. She recently graduated from college but was in a horrific car accident leaving her in the hospital for months.

Megan answers Wake's ad and learns of his plan.

The things we do for love!!

A second chance romance that I liked very much. It definitely will take you on an emotional roller coaster. Zoe, a woman who has been through a lot in her life, falls in love with Andrew; a man who is only concerned about a no strings attached relationship. When he leaves to go back to New York, she is left with a broken heart and a little piece of him to remind her everyday of what they shared. Fast forward 4 years and Zoe is doing quite well for herself; but little does she know, she's about to come face to face with her past and in the worst way possible.

This book will take you through all the emotions Zoe has to endure and you will love and hate Andrew. Other great characters in this book and some sweets to go along!

Okay

The narration was great however I didn't like the HEA and hea. The HEA was mean. He spoke awful to hea and the hea came off as a doormat with no spunk or sass. I think the plot was good but the plot devices that moved the story along seemed awkward. For example. You wouldn't really call your child's father over to baby sit while you go on a first date especially if the baby daddy relationship is strained right? I actually liked the secondary characters much better. I would read this author again

A great read. I found myself pulling for a happy ending for the characters continuously.

DNF at chapter 16

I really wanted to love this book. I had high expectations for it considering the other books in the series are fantastic. This one however is horrible. The heroine in the story does nothing but complain and is bratty to the hero. It was beyond annoying so therefore this book is not worth the credit and will be returned. Also the narrator's voice is very nasally and unpleasant.

Story ok but a bit short on plot

This book included some of the other friends and family from the series which was nice. Not much of a plot but the character development was good for Aubrey and Tucker. The narration was terrible though. The female voices were too flat, whispery, lacked emotion, and were boring. The male voices were little boyish, high pitched, and sickly. This book is better read than listened to.

Tucker is just like his brother..Typical man! AuBrey was sweet and self assured. Can't wait for the next.

This series keeps getting better!

And I thought you couldn't get any better than Barrett! These English men are absolutely captivating! I especially loved the way this book started out. The flashback to Daisy and Fitz's summertime relationship setup perfectly this second chance at love. Fitz, while relatively quiet and conservative comes to life around Daisy, which is wonderful and gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling inside. He will do anything for her. And she is smart enough to grab on to a good thing! Another winner for Katy.

Again, Lauren Sweet delivers a great audio performance. This series had better keep getting released! I am loving it!

Excellent read

I really like the character development, twists in the plot, real life struggles and of course incredibly hot sex scenes!! Another winner by Lynda! I really like the Glaciers characters and The Den characters overlapping to!

30 Something Gritty Drama

At first I was engrossed by the story of Scott (34), a professional hockey player with a drug problem who meets Rachel (35) a high school teacher. Their budding romance was complicated by his addiction and geography (they live in different states), emotional baggage from previous relationships. While the plot began with some humor and hot sex, the book soon turned gritty, complicated and weird.

Scott was basically a goodhearted man, who cared about his family & friends but was blinded by a relentless desire to keep playing a sport his body could no longer handle. Rachel wanted to get married and have children but quickly realized that Scott was not ready to give up his career.

In spite of the drugs, Scott was mostly gentle and loving. There was one scene where he slaps Rachel, which she accepted without protest - very weird. Scott was close to his sister and her children and otherwise seemed to like and respect women. Likewise, Rachel didn't seem like the wimpy type who would allow a man to hit her.

In another weird twist, Rachel's brother Rock acted extremely protective of her, threatening Scott with violence if he hurt his Rachel. Ironically, Rock worked at a BDSM club where he assists other men in beating, torturing and degrading women for thrills. Evidently he didn't care that those abused women were someone else's sister, daughter, mother or friend.

p.s. The narration was excellent.
