A political rising star, she's ready to announce her candidacy for chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. Journalist Cole McGaughan has ambitions too. Working as a religion writer for the New York Daily Journal, he longs to become a political reporter.

    Nicely Written!
Judge Laurel Kincade is not only a "your honor" but a woman of outstanding honor, with an impeccable public record of fairness from the bench. However, when she announces her candidacy for chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, the one corner of her past that she prefers to remain hidden threatens to announce itself from the street corners; in the person of New York journalist, Cole McGaughan.
Cole McGaughan has not seen the beautiful Judge Kincade in eight years, so when he attends a press conference as a covert favor for a private investigator working for her opponent, he is unprepared for the roller coaster of emotions that paralyze them both. Laurel and Cole find themselves in a tangled web of regrets; will it become their prison or will they depend on the God of faithfulness to lead and guide them towards the truths that will set them free?
This is a nicely written book with interesting minor characters and a story line that accelerated at a nice pace.
    Loved it..
I really enjoyed this book. Writing was great, story flowed and the characters were real. I loved the clean romantic slant ,and although the main characters were Christian the author managed to not make the book preachy.
    A Rainy Day Read
I didn't start reading this book with high expectations and so I was pleasantly surprised. The storyline was interesting and the characters were intriguing. The author was very skillful at keeping the reader guessing without aggravating the reader too much. This book was not profound or soul-searching but it was a nice easy read. It's a good rainy day book.
My first complaint about the book is that the male characters would sometimes cry/get tears in their eyes at very unlikely times. It made me chuckle at times. Most men don't get emotional for the reasons that the author was making them get emotional over. I also thought that Matt's character change was very unbelievable and happened too way too fast. My main complaint is that the second half of the book dragged on. I felt like the author could have shaved off a lot pages. It was pretty obvious what was going to happen and so the waiting was just annoying and boring.
Even with the above complaints, the book was a surprisingly enjoyable read.
    highly entertaining
I got this book as a free download to my kindle, wasn't sure what to expect. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. Well written, easy to follow and entertaining. good story line.

Didn't shine as brightly as I'd hoped
When I clicked on the "purchase" button for this book I was hoping for a nice fleshed out Christmas story. Unfortunately it didn't meet expectations.
Nativity is a dying town since the new expressway veered off and bypassed it. One of the residents hires her grandson Jake Brisco to revitalize the town's prospects for survival. He meets Roni Elliot, the manager of city business office. One of Jake's cost cutting measures is to scale back or get rid of some of the town's Christmas traditions. He becomes one of the most disliked folks in town.
Roni is very upset about Jake's cutbacks from removing the tree in the middle of an intersection that is knocked over and replaced several times a season to other cost cutting measures. To me she comes off a bit whiny and immature. At first I thought Jake was going to be the typical insensitive macho male, but he comes off with more common sense than Roni telling her a couple of times that Christmas traditions are fine, but Christmas really comes from within and from Jesus. She continued to want the outer trapping through most of the book even though the town is dying and going under fast.
There didn't seem to be any chemistry between the two main characters, Roni and Jake. It was more like watching good friends than a potential developing couple. The story while sweet, kind of limps along. The author has a town full of characters, but they never quite are fleshed out enough for you to care about their lives in the dying town. The person that seemed most real to me was Jake's Grandmother who has a small, but integral and important supporting role crucial to the story.
A Christmas Novella That Will Capture Your Heart!
What a wonderful heartfelt Christmas read. This story will surely tug on your heart strings as it did mine.
Nativity is a small town close to being non-existent due to money woes. Will this town survive and thrive once again at the expense of losing the Christmas traditions that are near and dear to the people of Nativity?
As I became acquainted with each character in this book, my heart grew in fondness for each and every one. I asked myself a question, would I be as concerned with tradition as these folks were or would I push to set tradition aside in order to save my town?
This is one heartwarming story that you do not want to miss. I know Christmas has come and gone but I still enjoy a good Christmas read any time of the year.
I have read other books by author Lori Copeland and have enjoyed her novels. Donât miss out on this one!
    The lamp
I have never seen the story about the lamp. I guess I will have to look for it. I look forward to reading it.

    Vapid story and horrible narration...
Don't get me wrong; I'm all about waiting on God and for Him to bring about what He wants in my life, but this book was almost insulting. There was hardly any plot, other than, "the oldest daughter doesn't quite like me yet... he looked at me, held me and almost kissed me, does that mean he likes me?" I'm sorry, but as a 28 year old, I would like to think I have a little bit better grip on reality than to enjoy a book about how a 30 year old waited, and she got a millionaire doctor (hospital owner) out of nowhere. Instead of a feeling of sweet contentment I usually get out of these kinds of books (ie, easy listens, fun romantic filler to more serious books) I felt rather empty, a bit angry, and just an all around sense of blah.
Yes, I know... it's just a story... but at least make it an interesting story... and if it's not an interesting story, at least get a narrator that doesn't sound like she just picked up the book and is reading aloud to 5 year olds... wait... maybe if she had she would have read it better than this. I would not have gotten this book had I ventured to listen to the sample first.
And hey, if I wait on God for my own romance, and it turns out to be this easy vapid and cliche, I'll change my review and rating to 5 stars.
    Excellent moral values.
Well written, with good values. Inspiring.
    Good Book
I listen to this book on my daily commute. It was very interesting could not wait to get into the car everyday to listen.
    wonderful
I listened to this book while at work and the day flew. It was very interesting.
    Slow & Monotone
What would have made All in God's Time better?
Something needed to happen - it was very slow.
Would you ever listen to anything by Deborah Lynne again?
    Probably not
What didnt you like about Kellie Southerlands performance?
Very monotone - no change in voice by character or emotion.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
    None

    Members Reviews:
Thank you for the real people who inhabit Mibby's world!
Sometimes it is hard to read as a mom goes through the difficulties of a teenage child. Patti's writing vividly articulates what I felt I was going through all those years ago with my daughter. Patti/Mibby is a good storyteller with just the right amount of humor and flashes of pain as her character navigates the troubled seas of adolescence in a very tricky boat of grief and single-parenting.
I've fallen in love with Margaret, Louise, Droop and even Manley. I enjoy the splashes of gardening knowledge very much.
    love this author
There are very few Christian writers I'm interested in reading, mostly because a lot of them lay on their characters' faith with a trowel. Heavy-handed preaching is the general approach, but Hill tells a darn good story about characters that are not always perfect, and are sometimes as imperfect as I am. Struggling with a teen son or daughter? Not always dealing with grief well? You'll relate to Mibby, who's just trying to do her best to keep her family afloat. She's not impossibly beautiful, but she's always a main character for the common woman. :) Her faith, and that of her friends, sustains her, even when things go wrong or her choices are not the best. Hooray for Mibby, I say! This is part of a three-part series that is well worth the time.
It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a series this much
It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a series this much. I finished the series in five or six days; I couldn't stop reading. Even though some of the reviews classify this as a romance, it's so much more than that. It's about this messy business of living this side of heaven with flawed people trying to live with friendship, sisterhood, parenting, disappointment, death, all the while learning how to lean on God through all of it. It's about finding the good we know is there while acknowledging the bad. I highly recommend this series.
    Found a good writer!
I bought Surely, Goodness and Mercy by this author. I liked it so much I went looking for more by her. I stumbled upon these three in a series. At first I was just going to get one. I read in a review that they could be stand alones. And they can. But with a good author, why not keep reading! So I ended up with all of them. Her characters are real, her story lines plausible without being formulaic and her writing excellent. I am thankful to find an author who writes with deep emotion without being sappy. She also doesn't beat you over the head with sermonizing, but The Lord is there.
    Garden gate
Real story of Christian life. Touching and very much worth reading. A metaphor for any of life situations we all face with anger, hurt and resentment. And of course the solution we all seek who always is the same person, Jesus.

Title: The Gospel According to Judas, by Benjamin Iscariot

Length: 2 hrs and 43 mins

    Release date: 03-20-07
    Publisher: Pan Macmillan Publishers Ltd.
Ratings: 3 of 5 out of 4 votes
    Genres: Fiction, Religious & Inspirational
    Publisher's Summary:
This audio edition of the "fifth gospel", ostensibly written by the son of Judas, is a retelling of the story of Jesus and Judas that will open a whole new debate among secular and religious listeners.
The unlikely partnership of Jeffrey Archer and Francis J. Moloney was formed after Archer sought advice from Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini about who should guide him through this demanding project. Among his many past students of the Pontifical Biblical Institute, Cardinal Martini singled out Professor Moloney, who completed his doctoral studies at Oxford University in 1975.
The project was as bold as it was simple: Archer would write a story for 21st-century readers; Moloney would ensure that the result would be credible as the writing of a first-century Christian or Jew.
Story-telling and scholarship have come together to create what will be one of the year's most intriguing and controversial books.
    Critic Reviews:
"Riveting and plausible." (Archbishop Desmond Tutu)

    nothing new
This does follow the Gospel Luke in bits but really does not add anything new into the mix that is not already out there. I was waiting to be gripped by the story or the new take on the story but all I found was boredom. Just get the audio bible and ponder that.
    ok book well read
nice and short . interesting idea. well read
    don't know why I need a 15 word review
Terrible narration spoils a fine story
Excellent story from JA backed up by superb historical facts and research. However the audio is virtually illegible due to the stuttering stop start heavily accented English of Tutu
    The Gospel according to Judas
When I first started listening to this book it reminded me of my school days and reading St Lukes gospel for GCSE. It is almost word for word apart from the few additions that have been added in theory written by Judas. It must have been one of the most easiest books to write for Mr Archer. Having said that it was enlightening in the fact that it gave another angle to the greatest story ever told. Worth a listen anyway.

    Seasons of the Soul
The book arrived on time, and a great read. I met the author at a craft fair, and heard the review so decided to buy the book and glad I did!
If you like Chicken Soup for the Soul, You'll Love This Book!
Janet Syas Nitsick has woven together compelling short stories that stem from fact and fiction. Each story is roughly one to three pages long, which makes it easy to read if you have a couple of free minutes available throughout the day.
Whether it's the humor of forgetting an uncooked turkey on the kitchen counter for three days, the bittersweet tale of a grandmother who leaves her grandson a special Christmas gift, or the joy of her autistic son who wins the gold medal at the Special Olympics, there is at least one story that will touch the heart of each person who reads the book.
Chicken Soup for the Christian Family Soul : Stories to Open the Heart and Rekindle the Spirit (Chicken Soup for the Soul Series)
Chicken Soup for the Soul: Children with Special Needs: Stories of Love and Understanding for Those Who Care for Children with Disabilities
    Uplifting
SEASONS OF THE SOUL lifted my spirit with it's humor, honesty, and spirituality. It is a collection of short stories. Janet is open with stories of raising two autistic sons. In between the stories of her family one finds a mix of delightful fictional stories with character's who learn life lessons. My personal favorite 'Squirrel Chatter' tells of two young squirrels playful summer, but when it gets close to winter one prepares and one doesn't understand the need. Don't miss this SEASONS OF THE SOUL's intense moments when the family flies to Boston with their two autistic sons and struggle with behavior and grand mall seizures. I'm sure those stories are not easy to be open about and I admire Janet Syas Nitsick's courage and willingness to share.
