Narrator for Anne is a little stiff
What did you love best about Anne of Green Gables?
I love Anne of Green Gables. The story never grows old even after the fourth time.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Anne of Green Gables?
The tender moments between Anne and Matthew and the budding romance between Anne and Gilbert, of course, are memorable. Anne's exuberant personality is most outstanding.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Victoria McGee?
Victoria doesn't quite capture the spirit of Anne. She's a little stiff for Anne but does a better job with Murilla.
    Narration taints this beautiful story
Such a beautiful story but the narration is so monotone and without substance. I recommend this story but I would suggest getting the one Barbara Corusso narrates. She can bring the story of Anne to life
    Victoria McGee
Victoria is one of the best performers I've heard within the Anne series. She has a wonderfully pleasant voice for the reading of Anne of Green Gables. I think she is the best performer I have from all the Anne book I have. I wish she did more performances for the Anne series. I will always love the story as well. I loved it before ever reading the books because of Megan Follows performance in the movie series. The blessings of a little waif of a girl turned beautiful and smart and loving and open always warms my heart. C'est très magnifique livre.
    Stiff stilted voice artist
Would you listen to Anne of Green Gables again? Why?
I plan to listen to the whole series. It is very old fashioned and charming even as it
is filled with overly wordy and cliche description. That is part of the fun. And the characters
Are interesting. Also the historic setting and way of life is delightful.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I enjoyed the heroine. She was lively and reflective. Her actual dialogue bothe external and internal was captivating. The author's own narrative through out the story was oddly
    Cliche and overwrought in contrast.
How could the performance have been better?
The voice artist was very stiff as if biting each word. And there was not a great deal
Of artistry in variety of voice characters.
    Bad Narrating
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Robots who want to be amused by listening to a human who is trying to sound like a robot.
Would you be willing to try another book from Lucy Maude Montgomery? Why or why not?
nope. I do not like her writing style.
How could the performance have been better?
The narrator was HORRIBLE. She sounded like she was attempting to imitate an electronic phone voice.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I could not get past the irritation of the sound of the narrator's voice.

They are part of the religion of the people who tell them, and so belong to just one tribe or sometimes just a part of the tribe. Sometimes Coyote plays a role in these religious stories. But the coyote stories in this collection are different. They are told for entertainment. They are especially loved by children, who delight in Coyotes foolish antics.

    Could've been beter...
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
There wasn't anything wrong with the book itself, but the narrators' performance was lousy.
His character voices, and expressions were horrible.
What could Joe Hayes have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Call in sick, so producers hire a new narrator.
How could the performance have been better?
    ACTING LESSONS!!!!!
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I removed one of my shoes at a red light, and beat the heck out of the radio.

Escaped lions, mercy missions, a turkey with special powers, Christmas chaos and some very strange cheese! These two pixies take it all in their stride. The fourth fantastic 'Titch and Mitch' story from best-selling author Garth Edwards.
    Members Reviews:
With Titch and Mitch the magic goes on
This is the fourth of five wonderful books, and it contains five different stories. The pixies get into trouble and scrapes and somehow always seem to manage to wriggle out of them and all is well at the end of each story. Here in the Magic Boots Wiffin marches around like John Cleese, before they find their rightful owner, and leter they help Misty the fairy deliver medicine to the tree hospital for sick birds. The books seemed to be aimed at boys, but in fact my daughter, who is by no means a tom-boy, loves them. I used to read them to her and now she reads them herself. Her favorite character is probably Misty the fairy. Here, animals come to life, with magical abilities and skills, a bicycle can fly, and they are all beautifully portrayed in lovely sketches. Altogether charming books for magical story time.

    very good book
    Almudena wrote an amazing story.

    Be Warned!!
This is the exact same story as Rage Of The Fallen so dont waste a credit.
    The narrator is bad
I have enjoyed the series till now. A new narrator was used and I can't stand him. All of the characters sound the same and his delivery is no better. I stopped listening after only one chapter.
    tricked
What disappointed you about The Spook's Destiny?
already listened to the book under another name. I read the caption and mistook it for a new book in the series.... oh well. I really can't rate the performance of the narrator since i didn't listen.
    Any additional comments?
Christopher Welch is spot on for the job. Hopefully any NEW books will be narrated by him.
    Really bad narrator
What would have made The Spook's Destiny better?
They really need to go back to the original reader. Not only was this one aweful, but switching in mid series is jarring.
    Christopher Even Welch
If youve listened to books by Joseph Delaney before, how does this one compare?
All of them, I have the entire series and have loved them all
Would you be willing to try another one of Thomas Judds performances?
    No, Not at all
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
    Great series

Same book as Previous and with different narrator ... why sell this volume? Waste of money / credits.

    Publisher's Summary:
Far from fading with time, Kenneth Grahame's classic tale of fantasy has attracted a growing audience in each generation. Rat, Mole, Badger and the preposterous Mr Toad, have brought delight to many through the years with their odd adventures on and by the river, and at the imposing residence of Toad Hall.
    Members Reviews:
    A disappointing abridgment
This is clearly marked Unabridged. This is simply not true. When I knew the book as a child the two passages I found intensely moving were the Field Mice Carol (Who was the first to sing Nowell?/ Animals all as it befell./ Joy shall be theirs in the morning) and the profound mysticism of the chapter The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Both these passages are omitted, as is the entire Chapter Wayfarers All. (Other omission include all the songs, including the delightful Ducks Ditty, the chapter titles and certain details I can remember in both the Christmas chapter and the final chapter at least.)
In the structure of the book, the two omitted chapters break up the account of Toad in jail and his escape. By making Toads adventures a continuous narrative without the deeper, more feeling aspects of the omitted chapters, this version reduces the book to a comic cartoon adventure without the profundity and little of the tenderness that makes it such a masterpiece. Richard Briers reads the version charmingly, but I was thoroughly disappointed.
A listener who doesnt know the original may well still be pleased by this version.
    Brilliant!
An excellent story and, wonderfully narrated by the great Richard Briers. I absolutely loved it.
    Fabulously Nostalgic...!
A childhood classic, fabulously nostalgic. Priceless narration by Richard Briers brings all the little friends to life with their individual voices and accents.
    Fantastic bedtime listening
This has been perfect for my little daughter to listen to while she prepares for sleep. I loved it as a child and it's so lovely to see my children enjoying it thirty years later. A beautifully narrated, fantastic story.
