A Superb Series - delightful for adults AND kids!
If you could sum up The Case of the Double Bumblebee Sting in three words, what would they be?
    Funny. Funnier. Funniest!!
A delightful series of audio books that is narrated by the author who is also a marvelous voice actor. His stories are enjoyable to me, an adult, because of the humor, wit, spoonerisms and malapropisms. Adults and kids both are entertained by a delightful plot and just durn good story telling! And, boy, does he get into the mind of a dog!! If you love dogs you will LOVE these stories!!

    Great book
It showed me that the government has a lot of power and the president also sort of has a lot of power I is based on what would happen if a kid ran for president of the United States of America an I loved it because it seems so real I recommend this for 3rd and 4th graders but it only makes sense if you read the whole thing and also you should read the first book
this is still a good book, don't get me wrong
So, even Dan Gutman isn't on all the time. But, this is still a good book, don't get me wrong! It's just that my expectations were so high after reading the prequel, "The Kid Who Ran for President," that I was sort of let down by the relative calm of this story. But for a kid, though, it's still entertaining, and it says a lot of things about being the President that many of us don't think about. Like it being a four-year "time out," for instance. (Think about it: could you do that job?) You should read this after you read the first one, but just be warned that the humor is not quite as sharp, okay? But, you really should read it!
The Kid Who Ran for President (Kid Who (Paperback))
    A Mesmerizing Book
A great book for young readers. It's humor and knowledge makes it a mesmerizing book that all kids should have. Both the Kid Who Ran For President and this book, The Kid Who Became president are awesome. These books are all so inspirational. I my self once dreamed to be president. And because of that and the book itself, I shall give it 5 stars.
Hilarious, fun to read, and educational at the same time!
We just finished reading this hilarious book about a kid who actually. E came president of the U.S.A.! As a homeschool mom I especially appreciate all of the things my boys have learned about the executive office. They now really understand things like the State of the Union Address, the powers that a president has and does not have, the need for the secret service to protect him, the electoral college, the Lincoln bedroom in the White House...and much more!
BUT, you really should read "The Kid who Ran for President" first! In fact you MUST! Both books are available on the Kindle, so don't hesitate if you're looking for a good book for your children! My boys are 14, 13, and 9 years old, and they have all loved it!
    Five Stars

    The Best Mystery Series
Betsy Byars, the author of the Herculeah Jones mystery series, is one of the greatest authors of all time. She writes many different genres of books that are loved by all. The Black Tower is a GREAT book to read to even the youngest of readers (starting at about seven years old). I am a second grade teacher, and I have read it to my entire class. They all LOVED it! Each time we got to the end of a chapter, we couldn't stop reading. We HAD to read more!! Several students were even motivated to read this book, and some of the other Herculeah Jones Mystery books on their own!! My class loved how brave Herculeah was, and how she relied on her hair "frizzling" to help her figure out when something was wrong. They also loved how funny her friend Meat was! He always had something funny to say that they laughed out loud at. Betsy Byars left clues throughout the book that the class loved figuring out as we read. At the very end, she tied up all of the loose ends so that we could figure out the mystery like a puzzle. If you are looking for a well-written, suspenseful, and funny mystery book, this is the book for you!
    This is an amazing book
I would recommend this book for a 3rd or fourth grade book and great for a book group so try it out and if you love mystery read these and the other books in the series
    Great books
Amazing. It is a little bit scary for some kids but it's very interesting so if you like mysteries and detectives and solving cases this is the right book for you.
    Five Stars
    Thank you
    The Black Tower
What awaits at the top of the Black Tower? This book starts off with a girl named Herculeah Jones. Herculeah reads to an older man named Mr. Hunt who lives in the Hunt house, also known as the Haunt house. Herculeah reads the book called "Terror In The Black Tower". Herchuleah's friend Meat waits one day outside for her and a rock flies down from the top of the tower and knocks him unconscious. The nurse who takes care of Mr. Hunt is cheerful and nice; until one day she unexpectedly goes missing and a substitute nurse comes and acts very bizarre by not letting Herchuleah ask questions to Mr. Hunt. To Herculeah Mr. Hunt tries to tell her about something. Finally, Herculeah feels the urge to go up in the Black Tower and uncovers an unexpected secret.
This book is fantastic! It is one of my most favorite books I have ever read. This book kept me thinking "Is she going to die?". The author Betsy Byars writes marvelous mystery and suspense books. I could not put this book down. These mysteries don't stop because she has a whole bunch more in the series such as The King of Murder and Dead Letter. This book is amazing, no wonder it was a nominee for 2009-2010 ICCA Awards.

    fun for all ages
I grew up with a bipolar mum, and how refreshing to hear mental illness depicted in a funny loveable way in this story.
The narrator / actress gives an Oscar worthy performance! in fact, I had to double check that it wasn't narrated by several people she does the voices so well.
loved every minute of this book.
and it's not just for kids - I'm in my twenties!
A story for all age groups.
I first heard this story as a child and I really enjoyed it. I then listened to it again years later as an adult and loved it. It does a wonderful job exploring mental illness and the effects it has on children. Its a story for all age groups.
    Different...
It is such a good engaging book which also helps you realise your value of your own parents. It is a very touchy subject that has been written about but doesn't fail to meet great standards! Surely recommends:)

    loved it!
This was fascinating -- I was drawn into the story almost immediately and found myself taking a longer route to work so I could listen just a bit more. The storyline is excellent, and if you love melodramas, this one will keep you happy for many hours.
this is one book I won't soon forget.
I love this book so much I've read it 3 times. Maude is an interesting protagonist and the Hawthorne sisters all have fascinating personalities that make them unique. this book will stick in the back of your head until you finish it and get the answers to the questions it presents. (You may still have a few even after the book is done!)
The best one yet! Great story and narration
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Drowned Maiden's Hair?
I enjoyed every bit of it. However, the fire scene was very exciting.
    Which scene was your favorite?
I thought the scenes with Miss Kitterage were fabulous. I just love to hate her!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The end, of course. I had high hopes for a happy ending and wasn't disappointed.
    Any additional comments?
Ms. Cuervo did a terrific job with the narration, changing her voice to match the characters. Her pace was excellent. I will look for her again.
A wonderful novel full of intrigue & emotion!
To tell you too much about the plot of this book would rob you of the suspense that it so beautifully builds up as you listen. By adopting Maud, the 3 spinsters she comes to live with have made her a vital part of a conspiracy. Maud clearly understands that if she does not comply with the scheme they have developed, she will likely be sent back to the orphanage she was so happy to get away from. Will the scheme work as planned? Will Maud dutifully carry out her part? I was so anxious to get the answers to these questions that I regretted having to stop listening to go do other things. And along with the interesting twists and turns of the plot, there is a wonderful current of emotion flowing throughout the story the longing of an orphan for a loving mother and caring family. But please dont think this is some soppy tear-jerking tale Maud is a smart, spirited, strong-willed girl and not a meek wallflower. The characters have distinctive personalities and are well defined. They are also all excellently voiced by the narrator, who is a perfect match for this story.
I hope you will give this book a try. It is so well written that I was completely invested in it and couldn't wait to find out what happens next! It was clear to see why it had won 2 awards when I finished my first time listening to the complete story. I have already listened to it twice now and am sure I will listen to it more in the future.

I thought this book was funny
Amazing how adults can screw up kids lives. Anyway, while I don't believe these characters are 7th graders, I can believe they are teens. And they have certainly been dealt a bad hand in this game. Making the best of things is their way of life and I laughed considerably while they did this. I saw the plot coming long before it happened. If you like this book then you should get the Ariadne Meyers narrated books by
Sarah Mlynowski. Start with Bras and Broomsticks. Not only will you laugh about being a teen again, but Ariadne Meyers was great.
I enjoyed Francois Battiste in this book. I'll look for books he has narrated in the future.
