    Publisher's Summary:
Good Friday started off as anything but that for Melinda Black. After losing her job and dignity, a series of events cascade her onto an emotionally charged rollercoaster ride that drastically changed her life forever.
Will Melinda be able to handle the pressure when she stands to lose what's most important in her life?

When the pressure is too much...
Melinda Black is having a rough day rough couple of months. After her husband has an affair, Melinda just canât seem to get back to normal. After snapping one too many times at work she loses her job and the roller coaster ride begins. Her close friends try to help and keep her spirits lifted but Melindaâs faith has long since wavered. Good Friday changes her forever.
This novella was a good change of pace read. The story line was thought out, but the characters couldâve used a tad more development. Anyone whose ever been in a relationship should be able to relate to the frustrations Melinda is going through.
    4Stars
An Uplifting Look at Hard Issues
Good Friday is turning out to be anything but good for Melinda. The shameful way she loses her job may be nothing compared to how her marriage has recently crumbled. What's coming around the corner for her this Easter could be the making or breaking of her in Once Upon a Sunday by author Renée Allen McCoy.
I appreciate how much the author packed into a story of this length without overstuffing it or making it feel like disjointed chaos. There's enough backstory and tidbits about Melinda to help you understand and empathize with her. It's a very "come to Jesus" type of read for those who like an evangelistic message in their Christian Fiction.
I did find the story's confusion of tenses to be distracting. As Melinda relates her account to the reader in first person, she switches back and forth between past and present tense quite a bit, and most of the switches don't seem intentional. Also, as the story wraps up, it starts to wrap up a little too perfectly. I think some of the outcomes would've needed more time and development, so as not to feel Happily-Ever-After-like so suddenly.
Still, it's an uplifting story that deals with hard issues, and I think many other ChristFic fans will enjoy it.
    Angel
I truly enjoyed this book. We all go through trying times in our life. Melinda lost her job and son in the same day. Melinda was at the end of her rope and did not want to live any longer. Whatever God brings to you He will get you through it. God sent an angel to protect Melindaâ.Awesome story.
This short story was an excellent read. Good pacing with believable characters
This short story was an excellent read. Good pacing with believable characters. I won't spoil it for those who haven't read it, but God can use anything to get through to us. Anything. I love that the message of the cross was relayed in a way that worked great in a plot that sold me. And yes, a spin off would definitely work for this book! More of Melinda please!
    Wonderful
What a good story I needed to read thus type of story today due to the unrest in my life. Thank you

    Historical & well written story
A very good, well written, Clean (sexual) Historical romance. But mostly about the feuds among families they used to have in Ireland. Sadness at the beginning, a mither and daughter are kidnapped & sold as indentured servants to a captain headed to the colonies, a different daughter of the one who kidnapped the mither & daughter is kidnapped & taken on another ship to the colonies by the brother & son of the 1st 2 seeking revenge - but things happen on the ship as he becomes closer to God.
And then the adventures - good & bad - once they land in the colonies.
Worth reading & I am sorry it took so long for me to read this book since I have had it since 2014. Thankfully, I decided to read the older books I had collected.
    Wonderful Faith,Inspiring book-filled with hope,romance and danger!!
This book is so full of faith. The main character went through so many trials...kidnapped...on ship with people traveling to be indentured servants..and you can't forget about love! I hadn't realized the horrid ship conditions that people went through during that time...death,illness,starvation and could go on. Once when they reached the new colonies-Malcolm, the man who had kidnapped Lauren, because her father had taken his mother and sister to the colonies to sell them. Yet,in spite of all the feuding between these Scots..the Lord prevailed. Sometimes we have to go through tough times. We don't know why the Lord permits bad things to happen to good,Godly people-but,we know that He uses it for good,at some time. I highly recommend this book...looking forward to reading the second and third..and she has a new one coming out!
    a good read
This book begins in Scotland, one of my favorite places, but quickly shifts to a journey to the New World. This book deals with the difficult days of many indentured servants who arrived in America. Throughout the book, Christians are seen attempting to live the life that Christ wants. At times, the plot seems a bit rushed. As with many Christian novels, the ending was rather predictable, but it was an easy, good read.
    Amazing!
You will be so caught up in this book that you will have a hard time putting it down. There are so many twists and turns, a lot of action. Jennifer really hit this one out of the park! I cannot wait until book 2 in April!
    For Love or Loyalty
From the first page to the last, this was an excellent book. I very highly recommend it. I hope there are more books by this author.

    Compelling and intriguing
very interesting and well thought out plot and setting. Narration is well done with just one narrator. So looking forward to book 3 in this intelligence and slow developing Christan thriller.
    Thrilling Ride
Be prepared for a long read, that will hook you and not let go even when the book says the end. Each of the series keeps on going with the story getting bigger and more twists and turns than spaghetti. I would recommend this book.I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.
edge of your seat kind of read
a great follow up to her first book looking forward to reading the third one
    Exciting and entertaining
What did you love best about Two Days in Caracas?
    It was intriguing.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked how things were wrapped up. I will not explain as I do not want to spoil it for anyone.
Have you listened to any of Chris Abells other performances before? How does this one compare?
First time, I believe. I enjoyed listening to him.
If you could take any character from Two Days in Caracas out to dinner, who would it be and why?
The dog. His two owners/caretakers would join us.
    Any additional comments?
I was upset when the book ended. No, not now. I was ready for more. Just because the story was concluded, the lives of the lead characters were just getting more interesting.

It's taken Audrey Regan years to establish herself as a wedding dress designer, and to date she's been roped into creating dresses for nine of her girlfriends. Request number 10 follows her vow to "just say no!" and comes from her very best friend. She can hardly turn Carly down!
Audrey arrives in Atlanta early to perform all of her maid-of-honor duties along with final fittings for a one-of-a-kind dress. But Carly's wedding is nothing short of an event, complete with Prince Charming, and the festivities make Audrey question whether there's a prince of her own anywhere in her future.

    Sighs and Swoon
Would you listen to Always the Designer, Never the Bride again? Why?
Oh yes. I would so listen to this story again. The narrator, Ann Marie Gideon, does such a wonderful job of pulling me into the story and making me feel like I'm right in the middle of watching in my mind's eye a boy meets girl romance movie.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Always the Designer, Never the Bride?
The scene when Devon not only puked at his wedding but on his bride's dress and the dress designer, Audrey, shrieked at the dress getting ruined instead of the bride shrieking because of her husband collapsing. I thought it was memorable and a bit amusing at the reaction of all.
    Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene is when Audrey and her group of friends, plus the help of Billie the receptionist, all were able to give We La Mount the shaft when he tried to rip off Audrey of her rubenesque wedding dress design for Lisette. It was quite obvious the jerk was planning to claim the design as his own but Audrey was smart enough to move swiftly and put a wrench in his plans.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Audrey broke down in front of J.R. about her woes and he just tried to be supportive. He didn't try to fix her problem but just listened and try to give her what she needed to push passed her momentary despair. Not many people get it that when a woman breaks down she isn't looking for a person to rescue her or fix what is wrong or have answers for a solution... sometimes we just need a shoulder to cry on and vent. And J.R. gave Audrey that when she needed it the most.
    Any additional comments?
This third book in the series was sweet and had a long slow burn romance by Audrey and J.R. but it was worth the ride to see them get to where they were meant to be. Their romance wasn't as big as I felt that Emma and Jackson's was but it had promise at the end for lots more to come. I really enjoy how this author gives us readers a sweet hopeful story with some obstacles that weren't over the top but just some of the troubles most people create for themselves and could solve if they would just get out of our way. I also like that the author brings a little bit of Christian faith into the story as part of the characters' back story or part of their character make up but without making it all bible thumping preachy.

    Sweet as Cake Romance
The narrator did a wonderful job of pulling me into the story and fall in love with these characters. I look forward to purchasing the next 3 audible book in this series. Hopefully the narrators of those books are just as good or maybe the same person.
This sweet light hearted romance was just the thing I needed. So many moments of me sighing, chuckling, and tearing up. A good book should always stir your emotions and that it did.

    Exceptional!
Outstanding! That is the word that I simply must use to describe this book. It grabbed me from the first page and would not let go. We meet Dr.Flash Bastion and we are thrust into his life of torment and sorrow. He was the former Senior Pastor of the largest church in the nation, until he fell. Flash's wife has left him, and taken his three-year old daughter with him. He is in a spiritual battle within himself and his God. Flash tries to kill himself, but is saved by God and through God's grace is reinstated again as Pastor, given his family back, and called to fight an evil that is destroying mankind. What a ride! What a read!
Our author did an excellent job in writing this book. His descriptions of all the characters, their thoughts, their looks, their actions, brought the read to total reality in the mind's eye. Each local was carefully grafted, clear and concise. At times dark and chilling. At others, warm and inviting. Good job! The pace quick, the story building, as each piece fitted together - each player taking their part, ending with a real cliff-hanger. Excellent. I savored every word of this read.I have to say, "I loved this book," and am very proud to give it my highest recommendation. Don't you miss this one.

    Love anything from Sandra Bricker!
Love it. My husband and I have listened to it twice. Really love this author.
    Performance kills the story
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I absolutely love the story. I think it's sweet, inspiring, and well-written. However, the performance of the narrator is not the best. In fact, when it comes to the narrator characterizing the child, the performance is downright annoying and obnoxious. It's so sad because the story itself is excellent! I still recommend it, but perhaps as a book rather than an audio.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jennifer Nittoso?
I have two favorite narrators: Kirsten Potter (she's excellent, especially differentiating all the different voices, including male voices) and Mary Sarah Agliotta (who is divine). For this story, I would definitely choose Kirsten Potter.

    good christian book
enjoyed this book...good mystery along with a sweet love story...,.did not know which man would win the lady's heart....but I think the best man won it......loved kid's were hoping and pushing for the one who finally did......whish there would be a sequel. oh well, all in all, it was a good, book. the mystery had me going. really liked the lady trying to solve the mystery herself which drove the man nuts!......he was trying to solve the crimes himself. if you are looking for a good christian mystery, I think you will like this book. I thought the narrator did a good job
    Entertaining but a struggle
Struggle to finish hard to follow the story. The story for me took too many leaps. For example the main character is not a believer one day then relying on God and pray the next.
    Loved the Story Line
I enjoyed the story. It has all the Hallmarks of a good Mystery/Love story.
    Real...
I like real people who suddenly struggle with challenges that rock their world. These characters experience a new reality but it's done with grace and humor. Lessons are learned and twists are amazing! Will read more from this author any day!!!
