When it comes to forms of meditation that are known to have a real effect on the physical body as well as the mental state, there is nothing better than kundalini meditation combined with kundalini yoga practices. It doesn't matter what's aligning you; kundalini has a yoga and meditative solution that will help you see your problems in a new light. If you are interested in learning more, then Spiritual Enlightenment: A Simple and Effective Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment with Third Eye Awakening and Kundalini Techniques is the book that you have been waiting for.
While only gaining popularity in the West in the last 50 years, the force that is commonly known as the kundalini has been a part of meditation practices throughout the world for countless generations. In the Dharma religions, the kundalini is a primal force that is primarily centered near the spinal cord base. There are numerous different traditions that speak of drawing forth the power of the kundalini, typically with the goal of jump starting a period of spiritual enlightenment but also for a wide variety of purposes, everything from seeking guidance to a serious problem to dealing with a bout of indigestion. Typically, the kundalini is said to lay coiled, waiting for something to wake it.
If you feel as though your life is nothing but a series of instances where you are going through the motions and you can't quite figure out how to get out of the rut you are in simply because you don't know how you got into in the first place, then it is likely that the symptoms that are causing your issues aren't physical, they are metaphysical. As such, it is likely that your chakras are out of line, causing everything from feelings of doubt and insecurity to physical pain that has no other clear cause. Do yourself a favor and get started releasing your own coiled kundalini sooner rather than later, you never know what issues you might solve.

In these threads we find a way to fully express and connect the depth of the Tao Te Ching to a modern age without compromising its ancient meaning.

It is because of the Eastern tone of Thomas, the Gnostic theology embedded in Thomas, and the possible pre-Christian influence of the text that makes it so compatible with the philosophy of the Tao Te Ching, so as to make one a fascinating supplement to the other. Both advance inner and intuitive knowledge above all. Both allude to the way to acquire this knowledge through an unwavering search within oneself. Since the deeper meanings of both Thomas and the Tao Te Ching are both direct and indirect, it is hoped that each time they are studied some new insight and treasure can be taken from them.

Required reading for yogis or those who want to understand them
Titanic works by one of the original and purest souls to leave India to bring the message of yoga and self-realization through self-effort to the world. Wisdom and a practical vision of soul exploration and discovery on every page. A must-have book for seekers.
    Five Stars
Great Book which everyone should read to get a different perspective on life and your spiritual life too.
One of the most important books I have ever read
As a student of many different philosophies, I have found Raja-Yoga to be one of the most thought-provoking and ingenious approaches to the merging of scientific principles, research, and repetition to a very esoteric practice. I, for one, have found great joy in this book. It takes a while to read it even though it be only a few hundred pages. One may find, as I did, that each page deserves to be carefully plucked and examined before going to the next one.
Very interesting indeed. I teach yoga, I live ...
Very interesting indeed. I teach yoga, I live yoga... and this book is fascinating. Toward the end it gets a little beyond me esoterically, but in the begining, when he discusses Patanjali's Yamas and Niyamas I'm right their with him. I have it on my kindle for bus-time reading.
    Inspiring and insightful
This book is fantastic. As a peek into Vedanta philosophy it is flawless and essential. This book is necessarily religious and mystical but at the same time strongly discourages credulity and leaving your brain at the door. Great reading as a fundamental yoga text alone. However this book is meant to be applied, not just enjoyed. Practice Raja-yoga in full or incorporate it into your occult or yogic mystic practice and see the results for yourself!

    Publisher's Summary:
Life is tough to navigate when you don't have somebody or something to help you through. Traveling blindly through life is no way to live, but Kundalini is here to help. Kundalini originated in India and is a Sanscrit term. It associates with the energy and consciousness that arises from the base of the spine. This is the source of life force that everyone is familiar with.
This book is here to help you awaken your Kundalini energy. As hard as it may sound, it's really not. With simple exercises and focused breathing, you can awaken this energy.
Here's a preview of what you'll learn in this book:
    What Kundalini is.
Kundalini originated in ancient India and is a Sanscrit term. It refers to the consciousness and energy that is coiled at the bottom of the spine and has been there since birth. It is the life force source that everyone is familiar with. Yogic science believes that the energy is formed when the child is in the womb. It coils around the base of the spine three-and-a-half times and stays there until you die. It will then return to its source.
    And much more!
Eckhart Tolle, a modern spiritual teacher, says his awakening was more like being permanently plunged into space and emptiness. He also experienced a spontaneous awakening, no spiritual training, after he was completely depressed. Once he fell into the emptiness, he never did go back to his old mental patterns, but instead has a better and deeper ability of understanding and wisdom.
Your life will be changed when you listen to this book. You won't have to live blindly and be closed off to the world. You will have a new outlook and will experience things on a deeper level. Start taking action and get this book right now to learn about Kundalini.

    Publisher's Summary:
"We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world." These words of the Buddha point to the timeless value of Buddhism. Thoughts both shape our lives and define our future. What is the quality of the thoughts that we are bringing forth? Ultimately, every person is looking for the same thing, happiness and a sense of inner peace. Regardless of how we try to achieve that sense of happiness and peace, most likely we will end up disappointed. So often what we thought would bring us happiness and peace turns out to be short lived. Any sense of happiness and peace that involves us looking outside ourselves will be transient. Everything in life is impermanent. People will eventually leave us, money can be lost, our position or status will eventually decline, and our bodies are bound to change. There is an aspect of life that is permanent and non-changing, that aspect is life itself. The expressions of life are transient, but life itself is eternal. Every person can gain access to this eternal and non-changing aspect of themselves. This book provides the principles and meditations to make this possible.

    Title: Theragatha
Subtitle: Poems of Early Buddhist Monks

    Narrator: Ratnadhya Tejasvini
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 10 hrs and 46 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 02-24-17
    Publisher: Dharma Audiobooks
Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Buddhism & Eastern Religions
    Publisher's Summary:
The Theragatha is one of the most striking texts in the Pali Canon. It is a collection of 264 poems or verses - some short, some long - by monks who, traditionally, lived at the time of the Buddha, and which expressed their experience of insight, the culmination of their spiritual path.
In fact, it is generally recognised now that this collection was added to over the years, so that some of the verses date from a later time. But this does not diminish this collection, as the verses reflect the intimate and very honest thoughts of those monks - sometimes clearly intent on the goal, sometimes struggling not to be diverted; also strongly evident, however, is the joy and sense of fulfilment of their practice.
What makes this collection all the more vivid is that in the fifth century CE, a monk, Dhammapala, drew together the biographies of these individual monks (from sources now lost), which bring these personalities to life in an extraordinary way. In this recording, the biographies precede the verses. Every verse, therefore, emerges from a human being whom we have come to know - albeit briefly.
Some came from wealthy backgrounds but were so persuaded by the Buddha's teaching that they left their world of comfort and ease and donned the yellow robes and took up the lifestyle of a wandering monk on the dusty roads of India; others were from very poor families. Sometimes, it was the direct intervention of the Buddha that prompted the change of life direction: the Buddha could see that a person, however unlikely from appearance, had a special quality for spiritual practice 'like a lamp shining in a jar' and urged him to follow the Dhamma. It is the combination of these biographies and the verses which makes the Theragatha so absorbing - and curiously relevant to today.
Dhammapala's biographies are presented here in the classic translation (revised for this recording) by Mrs Caroline Rhys Davids. However the poems have been newly translated by Ajahn Sujato and are fresh and direct. Both are read by Ratnadhya. At the end of the Theragatha, we present a fascinating essay by Mrs Rhys Davids in which she makes some astute observations about the historical, poetic and spiritual background to the works, giving us a greater understanding of this unique corner of the Pali Canon.
The Therigatha, Poems of the Early Buddhist Nuns, is also available from Dharma Audiobooks.

  • Thinkers of the East Audiobook by Idries Shah

    Title: Thinkers of the East
    Author: Idries Shah
    Narrator: David Ault
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 4 hrs and 12 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 02-24-17
    Publisher: The Idries Shah Foundation
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 3 votes
Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Buddhism & Eastern Religions
    Publisher's Summary:
Thinkers of the East is a collection of anecdotes and "parables in action" illustrating the eminently practical and lucid approach of Eastern Dervish teachers. Distilled from the teachings of more than 100 sages in three continents, this material stresses the experimental rather than the theoretical - and it is that characteristic of Sufi study which provides its impact and vitality. The emphasis of Thinkers of the East contrasts sharply with the Western concept of the East as a place of theory without practice, or thought without action. The book's author, Idries Shah, says, "Without direct experience of such teaching, or at least a direct recording of it, I cannot see how Eastern thought can ever be understood."
    Members Reviews:
Devisers of Substance, Exploits & Success
Great to see the reissue of Thinkers of the East magically appear on my mobile on 1 June 2016. The book itself is both as direct and elusive as the electronic delivery and it is, perhaps, typical of Shahâs work that the Preface, a piece that outlines the limitations of âsystemâ and âorganised thoughtâ, is followed by a type of index, headed âSubjects dealt withââ, which defies the logical organization of indexes and, in this way perhaps, betrays and displays the shallow, unconscious reactions, delusions, fixations of certain readers.
The book then proceeds with a number of stories and statements culminating in a tale in which a tinsmith, by recognizing a design, escapes from âthe tyranny of his captivityâ. This leads to a group of interesting essay-type pieces; Ghazali on knowledge and study, Zulfikar on âThe Rules of The Schoolsâ, extracts from the Testimony of Bahauddin the Designer, plus his 20 Counsels, âThe Legend of Nasrudinâ and how Nasrudin âbroke out of the netâ, and, finally âThe Sufi Questâ by Ustad Hilmi. In this last piece it is asserted that âManâ.. originates from far awayâ- [and] -âhas the opportunity of returning to his originââ; that the Sufis use language in a special sense; that ââSufism has two main technical objectives: (1) to show the man himself as he really is; and (2) to help him develop his real, inner self, his permanent partââ.
Thereâs a great deal more to be found both in that last piece and in this relatively short publication itself. While itâs always difficult to justify one book or author as being superior to another, taste being subjective, Doris Lessing refers to the many-sidedness, the depth, variety, the clarity of Shah compared with his imitators. And that, I think, is the case for Thinkers of the East. This book is an excellent example of why Shahâs work has lasted and why it is always more interesting than others in that unlikely, long-winded, often unhinged and pretentious world of so-called âSufismâ and mystical experience.
Practical spiritual advice based on Sufi self advancement wisdom
I think Idries Shah has many practical things to say about spiritual advancement. It's rare to hear someone say practical things
about the actual process of spiritual enlightenment. This process is first of all focused on man's ignorance, and Idries Shah is aware
of that deficit. Removing ignorance comes first, then advancement to the life of spirit can occur.
    The Book. The Treasure.

    Siva Purana
Excellent book! Loved reading it. I can't read Sanskrit and was very excited to find a English translation. Wished it was more comprehensive but no complaints.
    Shiva- the Ultimate God
This book encompasses the myth of Shiva-Sati, Shiva-Parvati, origin stories of Ganesha and Kartikeya, stories about all twelve Jyotirlingas, and demons which Shiva kills, which can't be killed by other Gods. Stories here make one believe why is Shiva the biggest of Gods, not the Vishnu, Sustainer of God trinity, (one might get a different feeling if one reads some other Puranas), as there are some stories where Vishnu has accepted the defeat and either went to Shiva or sent Indra, King of Heaven, perpetually troubled by Asuras, to Shiva for help.
I learned that many characters like Rudra, Virabhadra and Kirtimukha (he who eats himself, Google it!) emerge from Shiva, and are actually essence Shiva. I previously thought Shiva reincarnated themselves into them but not Shiva sent them out while he was busy doing meditation or sex. His stories with Sati and Parvati (both reincarnation of Mother Goddess Kali) shows the human side of God we know not much off. Story of Sati, as it is told here, seemed like a warning story for parents of a female child. It is essentially a story of girl who wasn't loved by her parents at all and ended up self-immolating herself. Of course, she would be born again: what would Shiva without her? But one must have a strong reason for the Goddess to be reborn and her marriage with Shiva. So thanks to Brahma, creator of God trinity, who gave a boon to Tarakasura that he will die only at the hands of Shiva's son. So, that's why Kartikeya/Murugan, was born, who has mysterious birth (read can't explain scientifically! Same goes for Shiva's other son, Ganesha) and unique childhood. Third son Shiva which is not well known in northern India is Ayyappan or Ayyappa Swamy, who originated from lusty union of Shiva with Mohini (Vishnu), in presence of Parvati. (One might read the reasons like some asura will only be killed by the union of two males, which seems like a later addition to me. I could be wrong!)
The two villains who turned out to be almost invincible until, of course, Shiva Showed up to the fight (yes they weren't even killed by Shiva's positive essences: Rudra, Virabhadra etc.) are Jalandhara and Andhaka (both originated from Shiva's essence. Surprise!). Their birth and their childhood once again demonstrate the inability of Shiva to really take parenting seriously (Remember Kartikeya was abandoned too! Nope, I haven't heard that they raise him either.) as he abandoned Jalandhara or given Andhaka for foster parenting to asuras. They were tough villains and had to be killed using Oedipus complex, when these asuras have taken a liking to their own mother, Parvati, unknowingly, of course.
