    Miserable narration
What would have made Garden of Lies better?
The narrator makes the heroine sound like a whiny teenager. It's so bad that her accent sounds like pseudo English. Do the authors ever screen the narrators...someone should have! I honestly don't think I will be able to finish this book with the "fingernails on a blackboard" voice. I'm very, very disappointed
Has Garden of Lies turned you off from other books in this genre?
I will certainly screen any of the authors other books much more carefully. I am a strong fan of these series, but not if done by this narrator.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Louise Jane Underwood?
    Anyone
What character would you cut from Garden of Lies?
    The narrator
    Any additional comments?
    Have it redone.
    narration overly dramatic
My apologies to Ms Quick, I usually love her stories but this narration really made it awful. Ms Underwood read the entire text as if it were a dramatic declaration!!!!!!!
    Great book, bad performance
The performance greatly detracted from the book. The narrator did a terrible job in developing distinctive voices; the lower class characters all sounded the same and the upper class sounded the same. The American accents were dreadful. It made for a rather unenjoyable listen to one of my favorite authors.
    Good Story, great characters..Horriable narration
If you could sum up Garden of Lies in three words, what would they be?
Loved the characters, the Narration almost ruind it. Once again a great story, awesome subcharacters but where they got this narrator is beyond me. It sounded as if she were reading a text book. and the worst 'American accent" EVER. the voiced main characters seem to be detached ...as if they were commenting on the weather. I bought and read the book after this. they story is great.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Her voice is detached and cold. like she is reading a text book.

    The Highland Henchman: Highland
    By Amy Jarecki
    A captivating adventure.
True love can conquer all in this breathtaking and thrilling story of Bran and Enya. A concept older than time of society's expectations for whom one is expected to marry, but the heart only see's and feels love, not one's station or status. Bran MacLeod is born of low birth. His mother works in the kitchen and he is but a henchman to his Laird. Then his eyes see Enya Ross, a beauty far above Bran's station. Enya notices this big, handsome highlander and can't seem to take her eyes off him. As Bran does everything to keep his distance from Enya, she does everything to get closer to him.

    Fabulous
I loved it from the beginning to the exciting end...and what an ending it was!!!
    A great story
This is a wonderful story that had me laughing till I had tears running down my face. I definitely recommend!
Poor Narrator. All of the young men were made to sound old. Would have been a cute story except for narrator.
Very bad narrator. It would have been a better book if it were told by different narrator.
    A Lovely Story
Would you listen to His Forever Valentine again? Why?
I am an avid re-reader, so I'm certain that I will be a re-listener, as well. This is a sweet story full of mis-communication and misconceptions. Beware of gossips in the town of Nowhere, Washington. They've been known to drive a man to the altar.
What other book might you compare His Forever Valentine to and why?
Like many of Kit Morgan's holiday bride books, the groom is unaware of his pending nuptials. This story has a twist - two couples.
What does Michael Rahhal bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Michael Rahhal is a master of voices. All of the characters, both female and male, have a distinctive voice, accent, and manner of phrasing. If I didn't know that it was a single person reading, I would assume the story was being performed by a small cast.
    Any additional comments?
You might be tempted to dislike Matthew Quinn, but give the poor boy a chance. He'll get it together - eventually.

    Members Reviews:
    The Last Brother
I love the story of Everard and Susanna. It is sweet and deep with love, forgiveness and redemption. I loved seeing the Wulfrith family all together as I've grown so fond of them over the years. As always, this was a beautifully written book. And, the narrator is one of a kind. If I had my wish, Judas and Squire Charles would have their own book. Can't you see them growing as close as brothers?
Wonderful addition to this already powerful series.
    It was okay
The first three books were the best. I felt that this book dragged quite a bit.
    this is my favorite
this is the last book of the age of faith series. and it is my favorite. read and find out why!
You've Done It Again, Leigh and Agliotta!
If you could sum up The Longing in three words, what would they be?
    Humbling; Changing; Moving!
What did you like best about this story?
It shows how many people blame others for something, perhaps for years, that never happened, and the tremendous load that person might have carried because of the wrongful blame.
Have you listened to any of Mary Sarah Agliottas other performances before? How does this one compare?
All of the Age of Faith series, plus three more and this one was just as outstanding as the others. She does an amazing job!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Loved when Everard's eyes are opened to himself. I must say, I teared up, and then wished I could have written a few parts of the book :-) I also loved when Everard's brother, Abel, arrives on the scene.
    Any additional comments?
Every time I come to audible, which is often, I always look for Tamara Leigh. Her books are clean, enjoyable, and I also look to be sure Mary Sarah Agliotta is the narrarator.
    Luscious
    Any additional comments?
I have listened to several of Ms Leigh's audio books now, and the experience is always delightful. The narration combined with the writing style that perfectly captures the medieval era adds to storylines that are made fresh in the telling.

    2014 Winner--Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award--Romance
The earl of Marcham has decided to put the excesses of his colorful youth firmly behind him so he may find a wife and beget himself an heir. But a straitlaced spinster may stand in his way after she releases a morality pamphlet exposing some of his most private misdemeanors. Determined to have his revenge and teach her a much-needed lesson, the earl decides that his best course of action is to seduce her....
Miss Georgiana Blakelow has long given up the hope of marriage. Instead she's resigned to serving as governess to her siblings and saving the family estate from ruin. She might succeed if only the wretch of an earl who won the estate at the gaming table would be reasonable.

    Members Reviews:
    Such an annoying heroine!
The premise seemed promising, a classic "fiesty plain looking girl with a secret" meets "rake ready to reform" sort of tale. Sadly for a romance, this couple were remarkably unsexy, and their few moments of passion tepid. The rake wasn't very rakish, and the central female not much of a bluestocking. Her fiestiness tricked away after the first chapter, the one word description for her would have to be "drippy".
Solutions to the her situation were repeatedly offered but she kept refusing them, willing to see the family (who we are told she would sacrifice everything for) thrown out of their home. The plot twists and new elements that kept being introduced sometimes felt like they were ideas for whole other novels, and just didn't fit this one. Also the unlikely (especially for the time) behavior and attitudes of the secondary characters constantly jarred me out of the story.
Finally, the idea that putting on glasses and a hat makes one unrecognizable even to former lovers and friends who've known you since childhood is just silly.
    A Good Surprise!
The premise is far-fetched, the character's motivations are silly, and the resolution to every conflict, including the big reveal, is oddly simple, and strangely endearing. There were moments when I wondered what kind of story I was reading! Ultimately, I really enjoyed the ride.
There is humor and tenderness and a great romance, and I found it all hugely entertaining. Actually, there is so much to recommend this book that at times I marveled at the author's talent and creativity.
Perhaps, not everyone will "get" it, but I love Lisa Kleypas, and I think it's kind of great.
A real standout is the perfect narration by Michael Page. I've never cared much for male narrators reading HR's, (with the VERY notable exceptions of Nicholas Boulton and Tristan Hunt), but I'm happy to say Michael Page was phenomenal with this book, and I'll keep my eye out for more HRs read by him, too.
This is one for the reread pile, right after I plow through my Lisa Kleypas collection!
    Recommended!
    Great
I enjoyed the narrator, the story and the interaction between the characters. Glad I bought and listened to it after reading the other reviews.
    Nice
Fun story! Love how the heroine was conflicted and human. She was a little Annoying at parts but over all good book.

Sheriff Spencer Riley and his mother recently ordered his big brother Clayton a mail order bride for Christmas! Too bad neither one of them bothered to tell Clayton, so imagine his surprise, and Spencer thought it to be one of the funniest things ever...until it happened to him! Heartfelt Highlander
I almost passed on this second book in the Clan Grant series because the ratings were all over the scale, but Im glad I took a chance.
This book is different than many Highlander stories in that it concentrates more on issues within the clan rather than Highland battles between clans. Its a touching story with many heartwarming scenes that, unless your heart is made of stone, are sure to bring a tear to your eye.
Quade is Laird to his clan and deeply loves his family. Brenna is a revered and dedicated healer who doesnt back down from a challenge. Their romance is sweet and progresses into a deep and tender love. The secondary characters add charm, wit, and many poignant moments to this emotional story.
This one is worth a try if you enjoy tenderheartwarming stories. ;-)

The character is like best was of course Ian. The narrator chose the perfect voice for him!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
First, when Ian is found wounded on the shore by the beautiful Merrin; then, while they spent some precious moments together in her cabin, away from others. They were so cute together.
    Any additional comments?
Amy Jarecki is a very talented author of Scottish adventures and a passionate writer. We can feel it in her writing! I recommend her books, without hesitation!
    Beauty and the Barbarian
What did you love best about Beauty and the Barbarian?
Amy Jarecki can write just about anything and I think she would reel me in. This book was great. I liked that in the end everyone had to eat their words. How anyone would allow anyone else to be treated like this is beyond me, but it happens even to this day. This is a wonderful story about Ian MacLoed trying to earn his place back in his clan. His brother, the clan Chief, doesn't know what is going on but learns through sources. Ian is on the run from his uncle. His uncle has a death sentence for him, for taking his bride and sending her back to her clan seriously embarrassing him. The Heroine is Merrin, and she was born with a birthmark. Since her mother died due to childbirth sickness everyone blamed the baby, so she and her father lived on a small island away from the clan. She was considered the devils spawn, a witch. Alone and sad, she struggles through her days on Fladda. The story developed into a most enjoyable read and one I know you will truly enjoy.
What does Brad Wills bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Brad Wills has a great voice and he does a wonderful job of bringing Amy Jareckis story to life with the many voices he has to perform to make the story interesting and enjoyable. Brad Wills is fantastic with his portrayal of characters in this book. You know who he is portraying with just his different voices.

THANK GOODNESS FOR A CHANGE OF NARRATOR!
I'm so delighted that Polly Lee was chosen to narrate this book. Such a nice break from Ashford MacNab. I sincerely hope Hannah Howell continues this series and I especially hope Polly Lee is chosen to narrate.

    book cover
I was very disappointed in the book cover. it looked nothing like O'ryan's character is described. I tend to use visual a lot. I wish they just used a body if they were going to put a picture on it.
    Great story
Would you consider the audio edition of If He's Daring to be better than the print version?
Not better really, but just different. It is nice to be able to listen to the story while doing other tasks.
What other book might you compare If He's Daring to and why?
Any in this series... As they are all excellent!
What about Polly Lees performance did you like?
She did well shifting between the various voices from child, to men and women. I believe she was knowledgeable also of pronunciations and correct dialect.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I very much enjoyed the book and emotions are always touched in Hannah Howell's books. I just can't think of one particular incident at the moment.
    Any additional comments?
Nice cover, but wish his hair was longer as was described in the book.
