    Oh. My. God. Mouth sounds.
I love this story, I've read it several times. But the woman that is reading this audio books has the most horrifying mouth sounds and turning down the volume didn't help. I had to turn it off. Seriously, if mouth sounds make you crazy, stay away from anything this narrator reads.
    Awful!
    Any additional comments?
This is the worst book I could ever be prevailed upon to read. Boring and trite from the very beginning.
    Bad technical issues.
Would you try another book from Sharon Lathan and/or Corrie James?
Only if the technical problems are fixed. This book is not playing. The "intro" by the author is good; however, the actual book recording is not working at all!
What could Sharon Lathan have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
    Maybe ... make it "audible"!
How could the performance have been better?
    Maybe ... make it "audible"!
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Mr. & Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy: Two Shall Become One?
    n/a
    Any additional comments?
Please fix the technical issues and I'll listen then will redo my comments. Please let me know what I can do. If it gets fixed, very good! Not fixed, I'll return this book w/o being able to listen to it.
I felt like I was reading a teenage romance novel
Pretty much the headline spells it out, It seems whenever she ran out of original ideas she went to the standard quote I love you, I love you, I love you. I would have loved to stick my finger down my throat. The book had real potential and that's what bothered me the most. I was determined to finish it but it's been really hard and has taken me months.
I might have like the book more if the narrator didn't have such an annoying way of reading. I don't think I will ever be able to get another book narrated by her.
    stunning
this book fulfills the curiosity of what happens after the end to the new beginning.
so enraptured by the floral loveliness of the proper English language. a true delight

    on the fence
I did not like the narrator for this book. I'm going to read it again at later time to see if my opinion changes. If I had know almost the entire story took place in a brothel I never would have read it. The h was blind and that sounded appealing, so I gave it try. She got on my nerves. She played rediculous games with H to find out if he cared for her. My opinion of this book may be swayed due to my extreme dislike of the narrator, so I may read it later.

Fighting for their lives, both must face their demons before their love can blossom.

    wow
WOW! What a story! I think this is my fave from this amazing series. Gyllis is such a strong woman, determined and going after what she wants. And Sean is such a great character, a warrior to the bone, a bit of a rogue, loyal and fearless. Their journey to HEA is such a hard one, but all ends well, they will be together.
Told by Mr. Gillies, the story comes to life with passion and I not only heard, but felt the emotions of the characters. Singing the farewell song at Sean's Father's funeral is breathtaking, I cried.
Thank you Ms. Jarecki for another wonderful story and Mr. Gillies for giving it life.
    Loved it!!
Where does A Highland Knight to Remember rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
    Great!
What about Dave Gilliess performance did you like?
I loved the way he sang the song and narrated
    Any additional comments?
I love how Amy writes her characters. She weaves depth, emotion, love and despair to the very end.Dave did a great job in narrating this story and I loved the song he sang.
    Just Plain Heady Stuff!
    Any additional comments?
When everything goes fairly swimmingly at the beginning of a story, you know it will never stay that way. Both Gyllis and Sir Sean fight their own demons and loves happiness is cast aside.
I loved the way Gyllis fought her illness. What could be worse than total paralysis? However, with her sheer will and gusty temper, she begins to heal.
Sir Sean is dealing with keeping his clan together for after his fathers death (Laird of Dunoillie) many men who felt they had been wronged by his father made trouble for him, trying to weaken his leadership. We see that Sir Sean is a strong man, but tends to give men second chances or the benefit of the doubt. In this story, he should have listened to his first gut feeling and gone with it.
The intensity of the love and connect that eventually blossoms between Gyllis and Sir Sean eventually saves his life. Gyllis is a lass I would gladly count as a friend for she is very loyal and giving, qualities every heroine should have.
Amy Jareckis stories are always full of excitement, wondrous heroes or heroines with passionate natures. This story has plenty of humorous remarks and scenes which remain in my mind. I particularly likes the time that Gyllis spends in the Abbey being taken care of by the monks.
Duncan Campbell, Lord of Glenorchy, brother to Gyllis took his responsibilities seriously where his sisters were concerned. He remembered how he and Sean MacDougall were very much the rake when younger.

    ENCHANTING!!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
    YES!!
What did you like best about this story?
The Dyslexia impairment that Christopher the Earl of Waxham suffered from in the year 1818
What does Tim Campbell bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
I love Tim Campbell's narrations he really know his voices and does very good female and male voice.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes when Christopher admitted that he had trouble reading to Sophie and that his father the Marquis was threating to put him in Bedlam if he didn't marry Sophie and obtain her dowry to use for the Marquis gaming debts. What a horrible father!!
    Any additional comments?
I felt so bad for Christopher Earl of Waxham son of the very cruel mean Marquis of Milford. Poor Christopher has been badly abused by his father because he was dyslexic causing him not to be able to read. Now can you imagine this impediment in the year 1818? dyslexia wasn't even know at the time. Christopher has know Sophie Winters since her birth. There county seats adjoined each other. Sophie was very clumsy and a bit plump. She was always following Christopher around when they were children and the two would argue more like siblings then friends.
Years later they both have grown up and Sophie is in her 3rd season. She is always written up in Lady Ackerly's Tattle Sheet for her scandalous behavior. She is just very clumsy. While at a masquerade ball her and Christopher have a chance meeting in the library while escaping the crush of the ball. They do not recognize one another. But feel and immediate attraction and promise to meet at the end of the season if neither is married or betroth at that time.
Christopher's father the Marquis has acquire many gaming debts and is on the brink of financial ruin. He insist on Christopher courting and marrying Sophie who has a whapping huge dowry of 100,000.00 pounds. Christopher doesn't want to do this he thinks he dislikes the little annoying girl who gave him so much trouble growing up. He eventually agrees to a dinner invitation at Viscount Rebrooke's home Sophie's brother. This begins the lively and witty banter between the two. Christopher and Sophie are a perfect couple and I liked both of them very much. The storyline is believable and lighthearted. The romance as it grows into love was enchanting. I really enjoyed reading Never Courted Suddenly Wed and I Highly Recommend this story. I hope we to read the Duke of Mallens story soon.

    Genres: Romance, Historical
    Publisher's Summary:
The sole survivor of a train accident, young Larken Burke is dubbed the Miracle Orphan. Four years later, however, her life is far from fortunate. Because of her emotional and physical scars, she believes she's not marriageable. With little hope for the future, she agrees to wed a gentleman she's never met. Unfortunately, his aloof manner proves difficult to bear.
Marked by romantic tragedy and the loss of his brother, Brandon King has forsworn marriage. Obliged to take in a ward, he advertises for a mail-order bride to raise the boy. Since the union is to be a marriage in name only, his criteria are youthful age, a certain level of intellect, good breeding, and that the girl shouldn't be so ill-favored she would embarrass him in society. To his dismay, he gets more than he'd bargained for.
Will it take a miracle for Mr. and Mrs. King to fall in love, or is their marriage another accident waiting to happen?
    Members Reviews:
    Compelling Story & Great Narration!
They called her the Miracle Orphan because she was the sole survivor of a train wreck that killed her Mother and Father.
Sent to an orphanage as soon as her injuries allowed she was soon adopted by a benevolent couple, or were they?
Because of her physical and emotional scars, her adopted parent made Larken believe she was un-marriageable, with no other options than to marry a man of their choosing or be thrown out of their house into the street with no money and no place to go. They sold her into a marriage of convenience to a dispassionate gentleman of means to care for his ward.
This story has many twists and turns with few things as they seem. It keeps your interest from beginning to end.
Mr. King's ward is a charming young man of 4 years old who tugs at your heart strings. He, too, is an orphan having just lost his mother and not knowing a father; being said to be born "on the other side of the blanket".
This is my first book by S. G. Rogers, but it won't be my last. She's a talented author, and Stevie Zimmerman a perfect choice for narrator.
    I highly recommend this book!
    I couldn't stop listening
If you could sum up Larken in three words, what would they be?
    Strong, wise, spirited
Who was your favorite character and why?
Larkin and Miles had a wonderful relationship.
What about Stevie Zimmermans performance did you like?
    Excellent timing and voice
    Any additional comments?
While a steady diet of Regency romance would be boring, I enjoy picking up a good one and this one was good. The author avoided the whole horrible male, suddenly falls in love by having the romance blossom slowly with obstacles popping up to slow down the eventual love scene.
Compelling story with lots of twists and heartache
Would you listen to Larken again? Why?
    Probably yes.

Loved this book. Can't wait for the next one!!
    Story Sadly Lacking
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
This story was sadily lacking any depth in plot or its characters. However, it did contain some graphic sex which is not for everyone.
Would you ever listen to anything by Callie Hutton again?
Not likely. I am returning the book.
Would you be willing to try another one of Lara Wellss performances?
Her voice was annoying but tolerable. I would not purposely choose a book with her as a narrator.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from A Run for Love?
graphic sex . It was too much in detail. Unfortunately, the story lacked detail and depth.
    Any additional comments?
This book actually talked about condoms and sponges in an western. Really???
not a good read...why ruin a good old West story
so disappointed. ..wanted a good old West story, why they have to go into detail about every time the couple went to bed together!#..not fit for
anybody just needing a good book
also way too much cursing get and so unnecessary!! to make a good story...and there was no warning! !
    Warm, Romantic and Funny!
Narrated by Lara Wells - Loved her! Really good production, she doesn't overact, wonderfully pleasant voice to listen too. Super!
Loved the story, I think the narration really added to the enjoyment - Starts out in Nebraska and ends up in Oklahoma during the Government Land Runs into Indian Country.
Young school teacher Tori ends up in a bad situation when her brother dies, she comes to care for his four children and a month later, the bank takes the house. She decides they are going to take part in the land run and have a fresh start. While preparing for the run she, of course, meets a handsome cowboy with a deep velvet voice, muscular thighs, piercing blue eyes, definitely male, who smells like sweat, horses and man - while collecting kindling. They clash, tingles run down spines, but still she stays to feud over a pile of sticks. Moving right along, she runs, she claims her land and guess who claimed the plot right next to hers? Yup...you got it.

    Inspiring Romance Perfectly Imperfect Characters
    Any additional comments?
This book was so very good. It is not often you get a romance with handicapped characters playing the hero and not the victim. Ms Hoyt is a go to for me when selecting historical romance. This book was one of my favorites.....Loved both the characters and romance was believable.
    Finally, Phoebe
This book is well written, and satisfying. I love how Elizabeth Hoyt writes characters that are so straight-laced, but are secretly passionate. Trevilian's integrity makes me love him even more.
Her approach to Phoebe's situation is also refreshing. Though you feel for her, you never pity her. She is as strong as every other heroine.
    Also...
I'm so happy Ashford McNabb is back! Honestly, I had to grit my teeth through that first book without her. If it weren't for my love of Elizabeth Hoyt's writing, I would have had to miss Megs' story. Fortunately, the AudioGods heard my prayers!
"Oh Beloved, Take me, Liberate my soul'...Rumi
The book started out good. I liked all the characters but then the story became more and more unbelievable starting with whisking away the Duke's sister to safety without his knowing where. Also not making sure all propriety was maintained during her travels? Sharing the same room and bed? Ummm.....no again. He should have known that would have meant a slow death set upon him by the Duke. This then leading to an end with a VERY unlikely match. A retired, poor, disabled soldier and a Duke's sister? Not believable. Maybe nowadays we can believe in "Pretty Woman" type Cinderella stories, even had the poor disabled character been a woman, I still could have seen the match going through. The roll reversal just does not work. All the exciting moments are also too quickly and simply solved but well.... still an okay book.
Wonderful, one of the better ones in the series!
Very enjoyable. Phoebe has NO lisp! Yea! Super writing and super narration. Dont miss it.
    Great story and characters..terrific!
I love the Maiden Lane series and this book didn't disappoint. I honestly was worried about this book because of who the hero & heroine were. From previous books we got to know Phoebe & Trevillion and I just had a hard time believing I would enjoy a love story between them. Well I shouldn't have questioned Hoyt's brilliant writing abilities.

I'll have to get the text version.
I usually enjoy Dickerson's takes, but this narrator...terrible. She makes it sound like an elocution exercise, not a narration. Her slow, prodding, emotionless voice makes the text sound stupid and inane. I'm disappointed.
But I'm still planning on getting the text version of the book! I just couldn't listen one minute longer!
The narrator makes this book almost painful to listen to.
While the basic premise of the story was charming and intriguing, the execution, both in writing and especially in performance, was lackluster. The narrator read in one long stream without appropriate emotional voice inflections or any attempt to clarify which character was speaking a given line of dialogue. Overall, I'd pass on this one.
    Poor performance
I disliked the narrator's performance. Her cadence made it difficult to understand changes in character. I wish I had listened to the sample first. I never would have wasted my credit.
The story plodded along, and the characters were all very predictable. Try something else by Melanie Dickerson.
    Narration lacking
The narration was terrible. There was no differentiation between characters which left me constantly guess at which character was speaking.
    Poach the narrator
Difficult to listen to. The narrator delivery is VERY MONOTONE. She has no flexion in her voice and doesn't give any indication when reading a different character. She sounds like a first grader just learning to read. Very disappointed :(

    Publisher's Summary:
Book one - the number-one best-selling Threads West winner of 23 national awards in the categories of Historical Fiction, Romance, and Western. This is the namesake novel of the sweeping Threads West, An American Saga multi-era series compared by reviewers and authors to Lonesome Dove, Centennial, and Louis L'Amour. Called by some "Gone with the Winda of the West'' and applauded by others as ''rings true and poignant, as authentic and moving as Dances with Wolves.'' The tale bursts with the adventure, romance, and promise of historical America and the West. You will recognize the characters who live in these pages. They are the ancestors of your friends, your neighbors, your coworkers, and your family. They are you. They are us. This is not only their story. It is our story.
The epic saga of Threads West, An American Saga begins in 1854 with the first of five richly textured, complex generations of unforgettable, multicultural characters. The separate lives of these driven men and independent women from Europe and America are drawn to a common destiny that beckons seductively from the wild and remote flanks of the American West. Swept into the dangerous currents of the far-distant frontier by the mysterious rivers of fate, the power of the land, and the American spirit, their journeys are turbulent quests intertwined with romance and adversity, passions and pathos, despair and triumph. One thousand miles to the west of St. Louis lies the lawless, untamed spine of the continent, the Rocky Mountains. Their energy draws this vanguard of generations to love and struggle in the beautifully vibrant but unforgiving landscape of the West. The personal conflicts inherent to these brave, passion-filled characters are exacerbated by a nation in transition, the budding enmity between North and South, broken treaties with Native Americans, and the accelerating melting pot of diverse cultures.

    Tremonds Book
I like the way it follows all the characters from Europe to the US and then their trip across country. The Author blends love, hate, betrayal, jealousy, adventure and so on in just the correct amounts to keep you reading. The ONLY thing I am very very upset about is that book 3 Moccasin Tracks will not be availablre in Kindle form!!!!!!!!!!!
    Good Book!
I really enjoyed this first book in what is to be a series of several books. It has a good story and interesting characters. I have also purchased the second and third book in the series, although I haven't read the third book yet. My only complaint is the length of time it takes for each book to be available. I look forward to reading the third book and hope it will not take as long for the fourth book to come out.
This series came highly recommended by a friend and after reading the 1st book
This series came highly recommended by a friend and after reading the 1st book, I can see why. The details of how "America" came to be, are illuminated through the authors eyes. So much information about a fraction of our heritage. Kudos to Mr. Rosenthal. Keep up the good work.
    good story line
i really loved the way the author described the surroundings, as if you are right there with the characters, in real time.
