Anne of Green Gables is a wonderful classic story and it gets 5 stars. This particular printing, however, is completely unacceptable. It's as if someone typed it into a document, and printed it off--no page numbers, not titled at the top of each page, the lines don't even break properly (see photo). Purchased as a gift, thankfully with enough time to purchase a better quality copy--probably for less money! A disgrace to the publishing community.

I LOVED Anne of Green Gables as a child and own the complete hard copy of the Anne series. Initially, I was delighted to find this collection of books written by one of my all time favorite authors for only $0.99 (kindle price. What a steal!) and felt I had to get the digital copy for my kindle at once. As soon as the product was delivered to my device, I began to read it since it's been years since I've visited the darling world that L.M Montgomery created.

I was very surprised to find that I kept tripping on certain sentences; the writing didn't seem as smooth as I remembered. When I got to chapter 6, I decided to compare a sentence in the digital print to my old, yellowing physical copy of Anne of Green Gables book. I realized why I had some difficulty reading my new digital copy: THERE ARE TYPOS IN THIS PRODUCT.

It contains the WORST kinds of typos. There are typos in which it results in sentences that don't make sense. There are typos with the wrong pronouns in them that make it confusing for the reader to understand which character the publisher meant to write about. I am able to follow the story because I've read Anne of Green Gables more than once with my hard copy but for new readers, these typos will make this beautiful story difficult to read and at times, understand.

I hope the digital copy can be fixed so that owners can enjoy L.M. Montgomery's work as it was meant to be enjoyed. I have given this two stars instead of one because of the fabulous price for kindle readers.

Bizarre Illustrations

The illustrations are actually random pictures that are creepy since they are in the beginning when Anne meets Mathew Cuthbert so they insinuate a romance between them. And the free audiobook is click bait to set you up to download an app and give your email address to spammers. Screen shots of the "illustrations" below.

who woulda thunk

Two years ago I would have bet a bazillion dollars I would never read a "girls" book. But at 71 years of age I found myself in a house full of books only one of which I had not read. I am terrribly addicted to reading so, in desperation, I started "Anne of Green Gables". It is a marvelous book with a main character I wish I could meet every day in real life.

A quality product.

I was pleased when I received this book. Since it was going to be used in the classroom, I wanted it to be easy to read and have illustrations that would add to the learning experience. It turned out to be just what I wanted!

This book gives you a nice basic overview of the desert iguana! Do you know what an ectotherm is?

If you look at the scaly, bumpy claw of an iguana you probably immediately think of dinosaurs as its appearance may remind you of an Iguanodon. The iguana is a reptile, has short stubby legs and has rough scaly skin that helps "hold in water" and protects it from predators. Iguanas can live in hot, dry places, but also can be found in rainforests. This book primarily takes a look at the desert iguana that can be found in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico.

Iguanas cannot generate their own body heat and often "bask in the sun in the hot afternoon." They are ectotherms (cold-blooded) and because of that "their body heat changes to match the warmth or cold around them." If they get too hot, they will head for the shade to cool off their body. They have very sharp claws that will dig into the bark of a tree or bush and they can climb to escape the heat or find some food. The desert iguana eats "leaves, fruits, and flowers." You will also learn that it is a territorial reptile, it can camouflage itself by blending into the landscape, you'll learn about its predators, how it uses its claws to fight, how its tail can fall off if a predator grabs it, you'll see a photograph of a tail that was regenerated, you learn about how they "lay their eggs in burrows" and more!

This is a nice little introduction to animal science and reptiles that may spark an interest in nonfiction. This was not intended to be an extremely detailed book, but rather takes a general look at the iguana. The reading level is for ages 4 to 7, but does use proper scientific terminology such as the word "ectotherm." I like the fact that this book gives a lot of opportunity for classroom discussion and asks questions in the text. There are scattered informative dialogue balloons throughout the text and numerous photographs. In the back of the book is a "Desert Iguana Range Map," a diagram of an iguana, an index, a glossary and additional recommended book and website resources.

The Wizard is Back!!!!

L. Frank Baum fourth installment in the Oz series is âDorothy and the Wizard in Ozâ. This book takes us on another adventure with Dorothy. This time Dorothy is joined by her second cousin, Zeb and her cat Eureka and a horse named Jim. On the way they encounter an earthquake which takes them deep into the earth to the Land of the Mangaboos. Here they are re-united with the wizard whom we last bid goodbye in âThe Wonderful Wizard of Ozâ. Together, along with the wizardâs nine piglets, they must escape this whacky land. Towards the end we also get to meet Ozma, the sawhorse and the magical Emerald City.

I loved these Oz books in my childhood and now have been reading this one a chapter at a time w my 5 yr old granddaughter who is enthralled by the whimsical imagination that Frank L. Baum exudes in his writing. The hardcover book is well worth the cost and the illustrations throughout are beautiful as well.

Love that I was able to order through Amazon!

Great backstory

Dorothy is visiting California when an earthquake strikes, sending Dorothy, Eureka her cat, Zeb, and Jim and his horse-cart inside the earth. Soon the Wizard and his nine piglets join them. Together, they embark on an adventure through the earth dealing with angry vegetables, invisible people and bears, and wooden gargoyles. Eventually they end up back in Oz where they are happily reunited with many old friends and the back story of Oz and the Wizard is explained.

Like the other Oz books, this fourth one included lots of fun wordplay. The story of OZPINHEAD was funny. I enjoyed Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz very much. I highly recommend it to people of all ages, especially those who are Oz fans.

A nightmare

In the lightest sense of the word. Meant to be a more lighthearted tale from the Land of Oz this to me is one of the more terrifying with the description of the countries inside the earth. But a very interesting read.

Delightful and Charming...

This book IS a good read, and merits 3.5 stars. However, it doesn't reach the stellar quality of the Wizard of OZ. This book is a reunion of sorts,

and I enjoyed it very much. It is hard to put down. Amazon has made so many great books available via PRIME. I can no longer read a book without

large print. Amazon's free kindle for PRIME members provides me with text that is so clear and readable. Amazon has no other PRIME service that

For the Series Collector or DInosaurs and Wrestling fans alike

A little more of a stretch, and since my kids are not that big fans of wrestling it gets 4 stars. The author and illustrator bring their same great level art in writing and images. But again only on content / subject matter that it gets 4 vs. 5. But if you are already way in on the Dino-Sports books then it is most likely worth adding to complete this wonderful collection.

I really like this serious of books

I really like this serious of books, my kids will grab them all and I will have to read each one as they lead into the next. My youngest son is into dinosaurs so this series is perfect for him. I like that they rhyme and the creative nature of the stories. I would recommend this book (and the others) to anyone who has kids who like dinosaurs.

My 1 year old pulled this book off the shelf at the local library and it's amazing. I'm a wrestling coach and have been in the sport for 20+ years so I'm slightly biased--but this is my favorite kids book ever! It's bright, it's entertaining, and oddly enough pretty factually correct. I bought a copy for him, one for a coach friend who is having a boy and one for another friend who loves dinosaurs. Highly recommend.

LOVE LOVE LOVE these books!

WE LOVE THESE BOOKS! We have all the books and read them over and over until my son has memorized the words.

In this particular book we couldn't wait to get to the end of the book to see what new sport would be coming out next- hopefully soon! Highly recommend for any kid and adult that likes different sports. She does a great job getting the sports and terminology right without making it too much.

My son is 6 and he has had the other books for awhile and is always one of his top picks to read before bed.

I wasn't sure what type of wrestling this would be about since I am not a fan of WWE style. It is another beautifully illustrated book that covers all well-known wrestling styles. I am very happy with this purchase and I know this series will be one to pass down through the generations!

Fabulous! Enchanting! BUT.... No illustrations in this Kindle edition

Our 10, 7 & 4 year old LOVED this book but do be aware that even though the illustrations are listed at the front of this Kindle edition there are actually none to be found! Or at least not in my copy! 8 different tales of dragons with princesses, boys and girls etc.

The stories included are as follows:

The Book of Beasts - Lionel becomes king at a young age and opens up a book belonging to his grandfather out of which flies a butterfly, a blue bird of Paradise and a red dragon.

Uncle James, or the Purple Stranger - Princess Mary Ann and Tom live on Rotundia where the animals are all the wrong sizes. Animals, like elephants, that we think should be large are small and animals that are normally small, like mice, are large on Rotundia.

The Deliverers of their Country - Effie gets something in her eye, only to discover it is a tiny dragon! More dragons start appearing everywhere. How to get rid of them?

The Ice Dragon, or do as you are Told - George and Jane disobey their parents by going out of their garden one evening and taking the "road" from London to the North Pole where they encounter the Ice Dragon and the Sealskin Dwarfs.

This is a keeper for our library. A wonderful classic, well written, imaginative book! I would have given this book 5 stars if the illustrations were included as they are really good.

Just good fun. Read them to your kids.

I had no idea what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised over and over and over. And over.

This collection of short stories was fun, the motivations of the children in each story well designed and believable, and each story emphasized choices being made and the consequences of their actions. The children are not a bunch of goody-goodies, sneaking off at night to the North Pole and such, but they learn moral lessons along the way.

Even though it's called the Book of Dragons and they do appear in each story, it's less about the dragons and more about the children.

Fun Read - learn the true story of Pinocchio!

Very fun read. I read it out loud to my husband over 2 weeks on car rides.

Classic Fun

I absolutely LOVED this book. The story is a classic. Collodi words paint beautiful pictures in your head and with an awesome sense of humor. The morals of the story are priceless. Reading the book actually made me want to be a better person! Sounds kind of silly, but it's true. It's beautiful! And I absolutely love Gris Grimly's illustrations. He has such a unique style which adds to the fantasic air of the story. It's a very good, fun book. Highly recommended if you're looking for a dark adventure with a moral :)

My child loves the book!
