Not for the newly bereaved

Somebody who has recently lost a loved one and is in the throes of acute grief should probably not read this lamentation. I lost my 21 year old son 2 months ago and my grief is unbearable. This book provided no support or comfort. It felt scrambled and it was unsettling. I would not recommend it for the newly bereaved.

It's not you, it's me

I think I should have paid more attention to the Course In Miracles part of the title, and less to the afterlife, because clearly, this is a book about Christianity, not so much about the after life. There were many references to PMH Atwater, who is all about the subject of life after life, so I know I wasn't entirely off point in believing that this book was related to that subject matter, but it's entirely my fault for not really noticing the Course In Miracles right in the title. At any rate, between the very VERY soothing tone of the narrator and the subject matter, I had a lot of trouble maintaining an interest, frankly. I DO suspect that's more about me than the quality of writing. It just wasn't my cup of tea, and, again, I blame myself for focusing too much on descriptions and not enough on the title!

A little bit of biography and personal experiences help elucidate the teachings of ACIM. I will be listening to this more than once.

Well organized, covers a broad range of topics

This is a book that either summarizes neatly and in order a great deal of information for people who have read many books detailing individuals' stories and experiences of the greater reality *or* presents neatly and in order the main points to know about the greater reality for someone new to these ideas. The book works for both cases.

Some people enjoy many personal stories in order to get a feel of what can happen. That's not this book. This is more of an overview along with how knowledge of the greater reality applies to an individual and what individuals, or their loved ones, can do to get themselves ready for one's move into the greater reality, either in this lifetime or after.

It is positive, encouraging, and informative.

I will reread this many times because it is so special

The first section written by William Buhlman is an authentic look at the authors life work to connect with your Higher Self. Just masterful! The second part of this WONDERFUL book written by Susan Buhlman deals with the delicate subject of preparation for dying. Rare insight which is so necessary to read for either yourself or a family members transition to the next phase of their spiritual journey. A truly great book!

I didn't know it was about the dying

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The title and the description are, I think, way off from what this is about. I didn't listen to the entire thing, because it clearly was about hose who were going to die soon, and knew it.

This was the perfect guide to help me understand how to properly use them and benefit from their healing properties. My birthstone is actually emerald and I wear a ring with the stone all the time. Unwind from the stress!

I learned a lot about how crystals can be helpful for the body. It's more of a spiritual thing and having something that can help you find peace. It has been a big help unwinding from stress.

Good book, weird narrator

The information in the book is phenomenal!

It's just that the narrator kept reading 'rationalist' as 'Racialist.'

Which is:

racialist - a person with a prejudiced belief that one race is superior to others

Rather than:

Listening to almost a half an hour about Atheistic Witches who don't practice deity work, who are science minded and want "proof in their pudding" being called Racialist Wiccans
