One of the best I've ever read.

I just finished reading the business book "Winners Are Driven" by 3 time Indy 500 winner Bobby Unser. As an avid reader of business books, having read over sixty, I find this book to be one of the best I have ever read.

The book really excels when compared to books written by college professors that give theory rather than Bobby's proven practices. The clear explanations and categorizations are superior to or equal to any book I've read anywhere. Thanks Bobby for giving back with this great book offering one of the best perspectives of how to be excellent generally, how to constantly improve, and how to win in competition.

I love auto racing, the sport where Bobby had his success, though I don't watch it much today. USA racing seems to be for any nationality other than an American. Europe's Formula 1 is a joke having grooved tires to slow the cars and chicanes to break up the straightaways.

Bobby's period of racing was a best one having high speeds and the basics of all the technologies including advanced aerodynamics; it was only lacking in some of today's safety items and it lacked the hideous computer systems that take away from driver responsibility and skill. The drivers of Bobby's period of history were the real road warriors. So-much-for today's pretty boys... Great book.

Bond Lite - But A Delightful Listen

Roger Moore's abridged biography is, like his Bond films, easy going. Moore infuses the read with natural passion, in his exquisite voice which his fans will no doubt enjoy. Note that this is more memoir lite than in depth stuff - probably because it's abridged. Moore also remains the impeccable Gentleman, which perhaps explains why he isn't the gossiping type. He admits dissing Grace Jones in Octopussy - in a rare flash of anger. While this is not a salacious read, it is certainly for those who grew up on Roger Moore as Bond or the Saint. 5 stars for the enjoyable read. 3.5 stars for the story. And 4 overall!

Very interesting Autobiography.

It is always a pleasure when you read/listen to a book that has something that you can relate to, Roger Moore is one of those people, someone we all know and like.

A great listen, thoroughly enjoyabe and as with most Autobiogs there is always a little something you get to find out that you never knew.

Best Book on Audible

All audible books should strive to achieve what this one does! Love the arrangement with the music! Get an inside look at a Hollywood Legend! I have listened to this book about 30 times and can't wait to hear it again. He had another lover in the same house with his wife! Loved white women and marched for civil rights! He idolized Frank Sinatra and in time Frank would come to idolize him. Must read for all.

This man was a stone fool...

This is an example of wanting to be accepted by the wrong people for the wrong reasons.

The story of Sammy's bank accounts.

Great book for a mathematician or an accountant, (if they fancy a "busman's holiday").

Some interesting insights into his domestic arrangements but the detailed passages are too focussed on his financial affairs. Disappointing.

Great Background Story

What about Rich Eisens performance did you like?

Classic Rich! Great to have the icon of NFL Access in the background while playing Madden.

Dont waste your time

If you want to hear Rich Eisen brag about him self this book is for you. NFL being the subject is the only thing that makes this book tolerable. As always Eisen can take any NFL story and make it about him. Like Al Gore believes he invented the internet, you cant help but wonder if Eisen thinks he invented the NFL. For a fringe fan you may find this entertaining but if you are true hard core NFL fan I would reccomend "A Few Seconds Of Panic" by Stefan Fetsis. Its a way better book and I took tons more from it.

Great for fans

Very in depth and entertaining. Hearing Rich Eisen read the book is great, unfortunately, sometimes it sounds like he's reading the book. My girlfriend enjoyed the book as well and now has a greater understanding of what goes on "behind the scenes" and in the off season and appreciates the regular season that much more.

Fantastic

This is a very good audiobook, and I love Rich Eisen's narration. I pay for game pass so I can keep up with NFL games in the UK and that's where I first listen/watched Rich Eisen. He is a fantastic presenter. I wish the commentators/presenters for the English football programs were as good. Very funny and entertaining listening to Rich talk about the NFL - he certainly knows his stuff. Highly recommended.

The best of both worlds

For someone who is passionate about basketball and jazz, the book was a great treat. Kareem has given us such a colorful, in-depth, history of the music. It was a surprise to learn how closely it is linked to the history of blacks in professional basketball. The only drawback to the audiobook is the reader; he seemed to be trying very hard to sound learned, but he came off sounding pretentious; and he made several unfortunate mispronunciations. But I refused to let that get in the way of my thorough enjoyment of the book. I highly recommend it if you are a jazz fan, or a basketball fan, or just want to listen to a very well written book.

Compelling

This is a very compelling and informative book. I've learned more from this book than I've learned in school on this subject matter.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Good book as far as learning more about Rita Hayworth, but the story dragged a lot and the performance wasn't attention grabbing

Interesting but not fascinating

The book was interesting but it didn't hold my attention. Anna Fields sounds like she is talking into a can most of the time and her lift at the end of most sentences is awful. Why end a sentence in a question form. The book did however make me review the internet for information on the Princess and Becky Welles. So, curiousity was built to some extent.

Sad but true

I found this biography well written. The facts of Rita Hayworth's life are public knowledge.

Her life is described with truth and compassion. I enjoyed it even though the outcome is inevitable.

I enjoyed the narration of the authors personal inner Journey to self-actualization. Her reflections are deeply poignant at times as she reviews her life's journey, struggles with disfunctional and abusive relations, feminine stereo types, and yearning to belong and be loved.

I don't typically reread or re-listen to books, but if I did, I would happily do it with this book again. She lived such an interesting life and it was fascinating to hear her different experiences.

Overall, I was very pleased with the story and narration. I would recommend this to anyone interested in books about interesting women and how they dealt with their life and struggles.

It is up there for sports biographies. I learned a lot about Hornsby and was amazed to find out he was a total jerk.

This is comparable to other well written books about Walter Johnson, Ty Cobb, or Honus Wagner.
