Romancing the stone redux

This was a decent story at a bargain price of less than 5 bucks, so you can't go too wrong... Well I take that back I've heard some got awful books at this price point, this one was passable but was literally a copycat of Romancing the Stone, an excellent book btw, with Marie taking on Joan's character and Ethan taking on Jack's, even had an Ralph type character, at the end I expected Eddy Grant to start singing Romancing the Stone!

Hot but a little infuriating

Ok, I'll be honest, this book kind of ticked me off. Yes the sex is hot because the crew is hot. But the way Neil treated James, grrrrr. He was such a douche. They're supposed to be these life partners and then Devon comes around and Neil completely disregards James for the shiny new toy and seems to be more worried about her feelings than his (alleged) soul mates. Yeah, not my favorite. The sex was hot, as it's always been in this series, but the story line and jerkiness of some of the characters...not so much.

An Awesome Read!

I really enjoyed reading the fourth book in the Powertools series, the crew decides to bring on an additional person. With three out of the five now hooked up with significant others the guys have been taking more time off and leaving the crew short handed. Since they need to make up for this short-fall they've decided to bring on somebody with experience, but also somebody they can tweak like an apprentice. Devon was asked to meet the crew at the new house they are working on, Mike, Joe & Dave have the day off so Neil & James are at the house, and Neil is waiting outside for the new guy. A truck pulls up and a smoking hot lady gets out, she slams the drivers door, walks to front passenger door & opens it takes off her flowered pheasant shirt ands lays it down on the seat leaving her hot pink sports bra as her top, then she kicks off her pretty sandles, leans against the seat and un-rolls a pair of white socks, puts them on with a pair of work boots. Stands up and reaches for a tool belt slips it on her waist, buckles it makes sure her hammer is hanging and then reaches for her big water jug full of water. The whole time Neil's eyes are popping out of his head, and he can't seem to untangle his tongue. In the mean time James comes out and says what's keeping you to Neil, when Devon says hi I'm the new apprentice. James shakes her hand and says you don't say, as Neil is trying to pick himself up off the floor. Read this book because it will make you laugh, cry, drool and cum a lot. Looking forward to reading the next two books in the series!

Devon's Pair

Here we have a ménage within a ménage story. Yeah there's the group fun, but there are also three focal characters as opposed to two. Neil and James have always been the only two of the crew who were a couple already, but when the tomboy, Devon, enters the picture, they're a little thrown. James is so understanding about Neil and Devon that it hurts. When they work it out at the end, it's such a warm and fuzzy feeling.

This is also the first book where we get everybody together again, and I mean everybody. I love the creativity that Jayne shows through her characters and how comfortable everybody is through the whole thing.

Gabe - he's such a precious gem. I adore him.

What does Janice Enright bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Her voice and accent is stellar. She sounds so prim and proper, but it just adds an extra layer of naughty to the story. She says words like "Tomato" and "seedy" in a delightful way.

Her male voice is awesome, as well. "You want it you slutty little bookworm." (that did make me giggle)

This is the first audible book I've listened to that I really loved hearing.

I think I need to admit I'm partial to Stein. I've read all of her books, and I love her stream of conscious writing. This was my favorite book of hers (though there are several favorites) and in the future I desperate hope that Janice Enright does all of her books. Just a perfect match.

Disappointing narrator bad story

I was disappointed with the story and narrator. I lost my control and gave up on in with-in 3 chapters. The narrator was very breathy, slow and boring whilst the story was poorly written with no real back bone to pull me into it. Definitely not worth the credit i spent on it.

Anyone interested in good erotica, with character development I would recommend this book to. The story line is in the first person Madison want to hire a helper for her book shop, which sells erotic books. She is very sexually active and one fellow Adam is very aggressive, but she really loves that. Another fellow who she hires, Gabriel is very shy and withdrawn.

Awful. And weird.

Oh dear. Where do I possibly start?

The story's a mess. You can guess by the title of the series that it's meant to be a spin on the classic "Alice in Wonderland", and judging by the small amount of plot we get from this book, it is: Alex is a thief, and is hired to steal an "enchanted porcelain white rabbit". He gets it, his plane crashes, there's dead bodies all over, and a few pages later, sex scene with a smoking genie (because sex with a caterpillar isn't appealing to a lot of people).

Now, I think I can suspend my disbelief quite well, especially since this story is about going to Sexy Wonderland, but I had to reread a passage several times before I understood that Alex was capable of swallowing the sexy genie's five inch thick appendage. No, you didn't misread that. Five inches thick. The smaller iPhone 6 is 4.7 inches tall, you try stuffing that down your throat and see just how well your esophagus fares. Anyway, perhaps this is possible because the genie gave Alex some nice, relaxing Wonderland date rape drug. But that's completely OK, because Alex ends up loving it!

Enough about the "story", this...thing was also full of typos and plain weird expressions. "Clepto" is spelled with a K. What does "as good as a ghost" mean? What does "bleeding every cry of bliss" mean?

The only reason I haven't given this one star is because it was so awful that I genuinely laughed out loud at some parts. But I by no means recommend it.

Alex and the Genie by K. Matthew

Alex steals a white rabbit statue because he's a renowned thief and this is supposed to some fancy statue of good will or what-not. Alex being curious took out the statue on the plane ride back home. Coincidentally the plane crashes and kills everyone except for- you guessed it- Alex. Then all of a sudden the rabbit starts to move and runs away. It just so happens Alex crash landed in a forest. This forest oddly begins to get bigger and bigger. Then Alex comes upon the caterpillar. I mean genie.

Which I must say is a very good play on the writer's part. Mostly because the genie is blue and is basically this caterpillar. But like all things in Wonderland (or at least this one) you have to pay for things. I bet you can guess what the genie wants because Alex sure didn't.

Great Story.. Similar to 50 Shades!

This was very good. A similar concept to 50 shades, even some of the same plot points, like rich guy, humble girl; he tries to run her off because he is a dom and she is innocent; she receives an expensive package; she even drives a beat up car. Very Very similar to 50 shades, but this has a touch bit more erotica than 50. The story is not exactly the same, but similar... so it is different. I enjoy it. It was a straight through listen as well. If skip something, you will miss out on something important. Close to a 5, but not quite.. Still lacking that something. I don't know what... but something.

Worth the credit. Not a buy, but worth the credit.

Yes!!! A Winner

This one pushed all my buttons. Maddie is tormented and trying to deal with demons of her past. As she is checking things off her bucket list she runs into Alex. Alex is every womans dream. Hes wealthy and sexy. As you can guess he has demons of his own.

This does remind me somewhat of Shades of Grey. Some differences but it does revolve around the BDSM lifestyle. The sexual chemistry between the characters is great. In my opinion it was a very good listen and totally worth my credit. Also Im glad that this is a one book story so I dont have to worry about waiting for another book or two to finish the story.

Could have been so good.

I think the book fell a bit flat for me. I don't really know what exactly it was missing but there was something. I could not get into how Maddy and Alex meet. It just did not click. Then her bucket list did not make sense until later in the book when it was explained. Overall I just think the book fell flat.

Hot Romance, Story Lukewarm

I wanted to love this book, I really did, but the reasoning behind not being open and honest with each other was so weak, it brought the whole story down, in my opinion. In both cases it was something that a basic Google search could have uncovered.

It had so much promise....BUT

I was so excited to be listening to this book, the beginning and middle were really great! A naturally submissive sub who doesn't know what a sub is is found by a dominant. He is of rich and powerful, and he has a dungeon, there was even a contract, very 50 shades but harder, more in line with actual sub/Dom situations instead of what 50 was. But then it kind of fell apart.

The book turned away from the in depth learning and turned into a romance novel within a BDSM lifestyle...but that actually detracted from the speed and tempo of the book. If you are looking for some hot scenes, and looking to explore the Dom sub mindset then this book was okay, but get it on sale.

Not Completely Horrible

Alex is walking through woods that are whispering his name and causing him to freak the hell out.

He is then confronted by several menacing werewolves, who don't seem to have any man qualities at all. Which I think are supposed to represent all the creatures that had been watching Alice in the woods.

These are not werewolves I would want to run into and Alex is pretty much not sure if he wants to run into them or not. Then this line happens,

"But the werewolves were surprisingly gentle, looking only to disrobe Alex, not maim him."

I guess all is right with the world then. Alex is then gangbanged by werewolves. It is actually pretty horrifying and not at all like his experience with the genie.

"He felt like he was participating in bestiality, no better than being humped by his pet rottweiler."

I also think that it was kind of like weird bestiality porn at first, but it became more of Alex being murdered by sex, which left me feeling uneasy and unsure. Have no fear the vampires are always there to save the day when you need them. Or are they?

I don't know how to feel about this one at all. I know I'm supposed to feel shocked and I am, but I was also intrigued enough to go and read the first story, which I had accidentally skipped. This one isn't nearly as good as the first. It actually kind of sucks, but for eleven pages it isn't complete crap. I don't even think it's bad. Of course, there are grammatical errors and what not, but it's a lot more enjoyable than my other trashy challenge quest novels, so I'm pretty sure I'll get the box set of the whole series when I have some money.

I downloaded this eBook for free, so I don't understand any review complaining about the price. It was free when I downloaded it, and it's free now (a month later), as I'm writing a review that so few people do but so many rely on before buying. This is free, so we get more than we paid for whether we love it or not. I took it as a sample bite from the author to see if I like his taste. He tastes good to me.

What a pleasant surprise!

I'm shocked! I really, really liked this story, it was entertaining, a little racy but definitely not over the top. I loved the main female character and I love Sean Crisden's narration much more so than Lucy Malone, he actually could have done the whole audio in my opinion. You won't be disappointed go ahead spend your credit!

Got to watch out for the quiet wallflowers a - once lit they can go Bang. I enjoyed this hot sexy story. Heather took charge. Nice to have the female dominating for a change in a story. Loved the double narration by Sean Crisden and Lucy Malone. Really suited this book and they sounded great. I will be grabbing the second book in this series once released.

Vanilla Dominatrix

Heather has always let men run over her. That is until she meets Tony. He brings out a new side of her that she thinks never existed, or maybe it just took meeting the right man.

This is a light, sexy listen. It's perfect for killing a few hours listening to a love story with some kinky thrown in. I didn't mind using my credit on it. I would recommend it for a fun listen.

I liked the minimal amount of drama!

I didn't dislike anything. I couldn't stop listening until it was finished in a little over a day. These two are easily a pair of my favorite couples. I can't wait to continue their story! Excited to see where Ellison takes them!

there was beauty in it's simplicity

Something about this story just sucked me in. I wish the sequel was available but alas I will read it hearing Sean Crisden's voice and Lucy Malone's as well. Is there a Sean Crisden fan club so I can sign up? IJS

Narration allows the words to breathe

Narrated with a sense of the characters personalities and allowing the rhythm of the written word to guide their delivery, the dual narrations of Destiny Landon and Lee James fit the characters beautifully, and the delivery helps to reinforce the emotions conveyed in the text, as clearly as if the reader / listener was in that situation. No one paces or crafts dialogue as well as Elaine Raco Chase, and the narrators do not miss a beat throughout the story, those natural pace changes in conversation, emphasis on specific words, trailing off softly in confusion all performed with aplomb.

With a liberal addition of erotically tempting details and scenes that fit both the timing and the characters, the relationship arc moves in a solidly real trajectory, even as we know that Travis is instantly gobsmacked by everything about Casey. And, for those of us who want, no need that happy ever after, this has that, and more moments that will bring a smile to your face and a sparkle in your eye.

What did you love best about Cowboy Fever?

good stories, hot and creative

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

the reader was just plain awful! I have listen to #1 and working to start #2, not looking good as I have stopped to come back later! Not a good sign I will finish.

What didnt you like about Nina Carlisles performance?

This reader must have needed the work to read romance/erotica. She must have hated every minute of the recording time as she had little voice inflection. What a waste of Delilah D imagination.

a good erotic story is only as good as the reader can deliver. It makes you wonder if the author or the recording studio ever does a trail run with the reader? the point of recording is to actually get good reviews on the pairing otherwise we can read the book. We audible listeners read each other reviews as well ALL have gotten burned on some books. Such a waste of book so many times. Someone PLEASE take note.
