Not what I was hoping for
I suppose if you grew up in the 50s & wax nostalgic for old (and not very well written)radio shows, enjoy bad Halloween stories, and the rare mildly funny joke, then you may just like this... but I wouldn't hold my breath.
    Well what can I say!
I'm sorry but, this one left alot to be desired, for me that is. I guess it would have been ok if I liked this sort of story. It fell in the category of old time ghost spoofs. But to me this one was not even believable. It tries to be humorous but, doesn't exactly make it. This book was full of dry humour.

    Amazing!
I love this whole series! But it felt like waiting years for this book, when in reality it was only a couple of months. The Devil's Roses and Blackwater Witches come together to battle out the end of the world, the Apocalypse. If you have not read the first 5 books at a minimum this book will confuse you, a lot! But you will still love it. And I recommend reading the 2 Balckwater Witches books as well. Not just so you understand everything happening here, but also because the are awesome! I was nervous on what was going to happen with the sneak peaks and teasers Tara released while waiting for the release day of Redeemers. But the way the story played out and the twists that go all the way back to the beginning, I can't help but feel all is right, even if it hurts and is devastating and sad. There are so many emotions and shocking moments. I felt like I was holding my breath and on the edge of my seat for the entire book! I never anticipated what was coming, and when I did figure something out, I was still shocked and surprised with the full revelation. I can't wait for the next and final book. But at the same time it makes me sad to see this series come to an end! At least I can re-read them as many times as I want to!
It will throw you for a loop!
Ok so obviously this is apart of a series you must read books in order before you read redeemers.. I'm not sure what I really expected from redeemers, besides the return on Dorian of course, but I got thrown for a loop. While I enjoyed reading more about my Roses I have questions which I'm hoping part 2 will provide because I'm not feeling satisfied with Ari and Lucas to be exact, at the end I feel a question forming ... So besides that fact Hanna and Alex's and Sam whoa never in a million years see that forming.. but I see now how Sam makes since the rest is a question that I won't write, well because I don't like spoilers.I feel redeemers left us with a some what of a cliffhanger which of course is a love/hate for me but has left me awaiting to read betrayers.
    Amazing
So, I had to reread all of the prior books, not that I minded! I have continued to love this series and its story line. The twists and turns, the losses and the gains are all amazing. Love, hate, friendships and enemies all in one.
    Welcome Back "Roses"!
Now I must say if you are anything like me you might need to go back and get a refresher before reading this book. I was a bit confused at first, but it didn't last very long. With that being said I absolutely loved The Redeemers-Part One and cannot wait for the next book!
Aimee and the other Roses are now Redeeming Angles, or at least that's what they were supposed to be. Instead they are acting just like the fallen have been for centuries.

    scary fun
If you could sum up Short Tales of Horror, Part 2 in three words, what would they be?
    Entertaining, scary, strange
What other book might you compare Short Tales of Horror, Part 2 to and why?
Jarrem Lee-Ghost Hunter, What the Dark Brings. Similarly in the suspense . Great short stories. Keeps you interested. Fun books to listen to.
What about Maren McGuires performance did you like?
I loved the performance she put feeling and attitude in the characters. Love the attitude.I would not change the title.
If you could rename Short Tales of Horror, Part 2, what would you call it?
Not a thing. Love the performance.
    Any additional comments?
I would read more like this. Great books to play in the car for kids, not little kids, but those who never hush up. They really get into the shorts and they love the story's . It keeps them
    Interested, and quite.
The narrator makes all the difference...
What would have made Short Tales of Horror, Part 2 better?
The stories themselves were good; predictable maybe but that's okay if they're told right! In this case, though, the stories got lost in the TERRIBLE narration. Maren McGuire did her best, but she stuttered words, her "character" voices were just sort of silly, and her pacing wasn't great.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
These short stories were, again, fairly predictable but still fun.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Maren McGuire?
    Literally anyone.
    You didnt love this book...

brilliant zombie post apocalyptic story.Get it
What did you like most about Zomblog: Snoe (Volume 4)?
I loved the idea that it's set forward 20 years.I think the story is absolutely brilliant.it follows 3 other equally amazing stories. I think it's genius the ideas the author came up with, like the tribes and the giant wall. I love snoe..i missed Meredith, but I took to loving snoe straight away.you know she's her mother's daughter.
I've laughed aloud listening to this, and have been close to tears at others.it's a utterly fantastic put together story
What other book might you compare Zomblog: Snoe (Volume 4) to, and why?
I would compare it to road warrior(minus the zombies)
It's got the same post apocalyptic idea as it.
I would also compare it to dead the ugly beginning and the rest of that series
What does Laura Stahl bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you had only read the book?
I had read the book before getting this and it was really brilliant, but the lady reading the story really added something to it. She sounded like she was really snoe.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
    Yeah, and I did.
    Any additional comments?
This is a brilliant book, I would recommend it to anyone.it's a very additive series, when you read or listen to it, it stays with you

    Very Well Written
This author has a command of language and isn't afraid to use it. Powerful, ghostly imagery. While all of the stories are unsettling to varying degrees, and there is some gore and horror (and even one humorous story), there's more of a sadness to each than a jump out of your boots scare. The narration was stellar. Francesca Townes treats us to a mini-novel approach to each story, giving a lot of bang for your audiobook buck. She's excellent at first-person male characters and even her conversations between multiple male characters worked. I took one star off on Story, because to be honest, I was expecting more thrills and chills, but I might come back and change that to a full five for the excellent writing.

Their family history is rooted not in magnolia and honeysuckle, but in darkness and demonism, in frightening forces beyond their knowledge and control.

There is a curse that grips the Bradwins from generation to generation, from horror to bloody horror, and that climaxes in a spine-chilling nightmare of black occultism and blood vengeance.

    Small Town Summer Stranger Danger
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Maybe. It was well written and definitely held my attention but the ending was unsatisfying and implausible. The narration was good and the characters felt real. The suspense and pervasive atmosphere of doom was riveting. The tension builds and builds and then... just falls off a cliff. And not a dramatic high cliff. Just poof. Done. Still, I enjoyed the chilling account of a small resort town going mad and will definitely look for other work from S. D. Perry.
    All Thoughts, No Scares.
Very disappointed in this one. For a story that is predominately talk and thoughts, there is very little character development. There is little suspense and absolutely no "horror" to this story. Sadly, it's not even interesting from a psychological viewpoint, although it is desperately trying to be that.
The premise is basically what happens to a small town when all inhibitions have gone. Lots of talk about sex, obsessions, and murder but very little actual action. We are led to believe from the title that there is a sinister force behind it all but "the summer man" is absent from 99% of the story. Teenage and middle age angst abounds.
Mediocre story with mediocre narration. Save your credit for something else.
    Great Narrator
What made the experience of listening to The Summer Man the most enjoyable?
Ms. Rudd offered each character his/her individual sounding voice. While the story was a bit slowly paced, at times, her storytelling made it not so bad.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The most interesting aspect of the story is David, but the story doesn't focus on him very much. I would like to know more about him, why he is the way he is, other experiences that he's had, and the experiences of his brother, and niece. The least interesting was John, the psychologist. I didn't care who he slept with, and found that all to be distracting from the story.
What about Kate Rudds performance did you like?
Her voices for each character, her spirited voice, and the complete lack of vocal fry. I've experienced other audible books with narration that is too painful to hear.
If you could rename The Summer Man, what would you call it?
I think it is aptly named.
    disappointed
it is rare that I give a one star rating but I had to put this book down before I finished it. I was really excited about reading this book but I was really disappointed at how slow it was and I couldn't concentrate on the story.
