I Loved the Book and despised the performance
Would you try another book from Lori Wick and/or Virginia Leishman?
I love this series! I love Lori Wick! I have never read a book of hers that I haven't liked. However, the performance by Virginia Leishman left a lot to be desired. Now don't get me wrong, her style of reading was good for the most part, and the various voices that she used for the different characters was also good, it was the noises that she kept making with her mouth while she was reading that drove me insane. Every time she made one of those noise I wanted to cringe. At one point during this book, it got so bad that I almost gave up on the entire series when I realized she read all the books. The noises that she made almost sounded like chewing or like she was swishing the spit in her mouth around. It was just gross and I believe I will stick to reading these on Kindle from now on.
How could the performance have been better?
Virginia Leishman could have read the story exactly the way she did with out all of the gross noises that she made with our mouth and I would've given her four stars. Those noises were just horrid!
Was The Rescue worth the listening time?
No, but not because of the story. I say this because of the cringe worthy noises that the narrator made every time she paused and sometimes even before that. It was like she was swishing spit around inside of her mouth or something.
    sweet christian love story
starts with concern and friendship in marriage into true love in the marriage. yeah, I guess a bit far-fetched in today's world perhaps...but I really enjoyed the book that takes place in the 1800's. anyway I enjoyed the book. if you are looking for a good christian book, a good christian author and a sweet love story, I think you will like this book.
    A wonderful story
It is a blessing to read and or listen to a talented Christian author. The story unfolds in such a way that each character becomes real and the setting is visual. I truly can hear the Christ like dialog and behavior in the main characters and relax and enjoy the story without being concerned about inappropriate language or those special intimate moments being tainted by unnecessary graphic detail.
Thank you, Lori Wick for your beautiful stories.

    AWESOME!
I loved this book! I have to admit, though, it had me tossing and turning reading about all those spiders! Creepy crawlers! The book was very intense at times, but I loved every word, every scene, every intense moment!
Thank you for keeping me on my toes and glued to each page!
Final Book in the Hidden Faces Series Does Not Disappoint
The power of prayer, and how God does answer is a strong thread that runs through this book from start to finish. God does not always answer when and how we may expect Him too. It is not always easy just to trust Him either. Nevertheless, we are to trust His way is always best. Personally, I do not believe I will understand many of God's actions until I am living in Heaven with Him.
Again, I applaud Brandilyn Collins for yet another splendid novel. God has blessed her with a wonderfully unique writing talent.

    Excellent!!
As a police officer's spouse... I identified with the situations in this book right off the bat. The writers did an excellent job capturing the life of a law enforcement officer and their family. Right down to some of the smallest detail.
    Simply Awesome!
This is one the best books I've read in a long time. Although the main characters were men I learned things that are valuable to women also. This was definitely worth the read. I stumbled acrossed it while searching for narrations by Roger Mueller. After reading it, I suggested it to several friends and family members. Little did I know, shortly thereafter it would go to the big screen. Let me add, I LOVE listening to Roger Mueller. His energy engulfs you and leaves you wanting for more. He has not disappointed me yet. It was he who got me listening to audiobooks. Great job! Great story!

Great idea, not so great writing
The ideas set forth in this book are great. Unfortunately, the writing did not match up to it. It was certainly worth reading and I got a lot out of it, but from a literary sense, it was tedious. These men were truly heroes. Maybe better said, they were true men. I wish there were a lot more of their ilk in this world.
Everything will work for the good
Would you listen to Courageous again? Why?
Jip. Good lessons to be learned
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Most: parents dealing with the death of a child. Least: it is anpredictable story
Which character as performed by Roger Mueller was your favorite?
He has a great talent of making each caracter special and unique.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
    Courage comes from deep within
    Any additional comments?
This is a great story!! Like always Randy Alcorn did not disappoint
A great book to add to your library
This is a great book for fathers and sons to read. It brings us back to our rolls and how we can impact the next generation if we try. It also puts a challenge to bring our lives up a notch as christians. We are here to be an example to others.

Lovely Story of Life, Faith, and Love
This is such a sweet wholesome story. It's filled with adventure, chivalry, faith, and love. It is truly a feel-good book that reminds me of a "Hallmark" story. It is a Christian romance, so if you are a Christian like me, you will definitely enjoy this book. If you aren't.....I think you will still like the feel-good aspect. Its worth a listen.
    Great Story
Why this wonderful title by Karen Witemeyer only received one star is beyond me.
I bought it because of the author and the reviews from Amazon. Also I sought out her web page.
This is a peach of a story with lots of interesting happenings. Disappointments along with surprises for a young miss who thought she was to become the wife of a book peddler, only to discover to her mortification, he had different plans.
But now great excitement is ahead, not to mention true and lasting love.
Set in the Early American West... Texas of course.
An aristocrat wealthy Englishman comes to Texas to set up a sheep ranch.
One little girl who has not spoken a word since the death of her mother. (This is where our heroine comes in)
A villainous uncle and a bit of skullduggery along with a bit of mystery, make this book a great read
If you are a Christian you will love it. If not, well... I think you will find the story lovely. Pure true love and a wonderful experience for the listener
The only thing lacking is graphic sexual scenes. Ahhh What a blessing to behold.
    Another winner!
What did you love best about Head in the Clouds?
It kept my interest from the beginning to the end.
What did you like best about this story?
The love they both had for Izzy.
    Which scene was your favorite?
When Addie put on her gun belt.
If you could rename Head in the Clouds, what would you call it?
    I wouldn't rename it!
    Any additional comments?
Another one of Karen Witemeyers books that kept me spellbound. Read it in one day!
Nicole Poole's performance is outstanding! Her gift of voiceover is awesome!
Never judge a book by its cover!
Where does Head in the Clouds rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?
Well, I've listened to almost 100 books, so I can't really rank it in that respect, but it's definitely in the top 20.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Head in the Clouds?
When the little girl starts talking again after her father is shot. It's poignant, and literally brought me to tears. It's either that moment or the moment when the main character is attacked in the barn.
What does Nicole Poole bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?
Nicole Poole is great! I enjoyed her reading of Tailor Made Bride, but even more so Head in the Clouds.

    Vicious Cycle
Terri Blackstock does it again! Her books are always great listens. Plenty of action, adventure, a kind of can't put it down book, with a what would Jesus do, added to it!!! She is by far my favorite author!
    Great Christian author
Thank you, Terri, for not being afraid to share your faith to others through your penmanship. I recommend her books to everyone. Do you know Jesus? If you don't, please consider His great and mighty power and let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart. I pray for you!
Even better than Intervention ... and it was great
This is the 2nd book in the Intervention series. Since this one involves a newborn baby, it really tugged at my heart. The last hour or so was intensely suspenseful. I highly recommend this series!
    Not a Bedtime Story
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Blackstock has her characters back from Intervention. Lance is such a good guy that you sure don't want bad things to happen to him, but he gets himself entangled with evil while trying to do good. Depending on God is evident in this story. It is dark and suspensful. Don't listen to it before bedtime or you'll be dreaming. . . Good read.
    Good Series
I really enjoy Terri Blackstock books. Her books provide suspense and are inspiring & clean.

Great concept, great fun to read! Blends Perettis The Visitation and Jordans The Miracle of Mercy Land. (Eric Wilson, New York Times best-selling author)
    Members Reviews:
Positive and interesting -Not too heavy handed
This book rings with a tinge of truth without being a heavy handed mind numbing gong of a christian story. The story was engaging and uplifting and carried some interesting scenes. The fluid nature of our destiny as related to our choices was handled as a positive theme. Some aspects of the story were predictable, and a few lines of discourse a bit too contrived, but over all the story kept you moving and interested. I wool like to see the author explore his puzzles and mysteries further. Good authors do not always make good narrators, but this wasn't too bad. He performed character voices pretty well.
    Freedom to Choose
This is a powerful book that highlights the power of humans to choose forgiveness, love and life over grudges, hate, greed and death. It also tells of the immensity of the forgiveness and mercy found in Jesus and His love. The mystery takes the protagonist on a journey of self discovery that forces him to reevaluate every truth he has believed. I enjoyed tagging along as secrets were revealed. I couldnt stop listening.
    Very captivating!
I listened to this every spare second! I really enjoyed it, especially with the author as the narrator.
UGGGH. As I suspected, a book with a message...
I thought this might be a preachy God is real kind of book. And to me, it was. If I had been reading it I would have put it down. Because it was on my Ipod on my Bose speakers, I listened to it while I did household tasks. The same underlying message repeated over and over. Spoiler alert: main character does not believe in God but those he cherishes in life do. A loosely veiled lecture with what could have been an interesting premise if the author had developed the plot instead of the continued doubting Thomas/I need proof/oh wait there is a God story. If you were expecting any kind of variation on the many novels following the old Dan Brown mystery/search/uncover a secret hidden for centruries--this is NOT close.

just not as compelling as other ted dekker stories
If youve listened to books by Ted Dekker before, how does this one compare?
Even though other Ted Dekker books had things that seemed out of this world, they were somehow still believeable. However, this book would have been more compelling had the story not turned out how it did with **SPOILER WARNING** the main character somehow being the same person in two people. Had Katie/Janeal been twins and not known it or something like that, the story of forgiveness/sacrifice/healing would have been that much more powerful. Also, I wish the message was stronger about God being the reason we can even have true forgiveness, true love and acceptance, etc. A little disappointing, but still a Ted Dekker fan!
What does Ann Harrison bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
I thought she was a fantastic narrator!
Do you think Burn needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
    No
    Thrilling Ride
If you've read any Dekker books, you know that you're in for a ride even before you open the book. I didn't expect the storyline to go the way it did, but Dekker usually does that- the unexpected.
Janeal, the main character, lives in a gypsy "kumpania" with her father in the first part of the novel, but she's not completely happy with her life there. Salazar Sanso, a drug dealer, approaches Janeal with a deal that could help Janeal leave the kumpania, but it backfires on Janeal and her life is forever changed.
I did enjoy the progression of the story, but the twist was somewhat unbelievable, a little crazy. I can't say too much without giving it away. It was, for certain, an entertaining story about good versus evil.
The narration was excellent. I especially enjoyed the Latino accent of Salazar Sanso.

    Parable for every chapter
Enjoyed this book alot. The narrator has a voice perfect for this story - soothing, but also exciting. Every chapter had a theme along with a lesson. Well thought out and written. The story is based on one day in a mans life, which would in real life been a very long day. The main character dealt with daily activities but brought out fine points that most of us just over look everyday. Look forward to reading / listening to more books by this author.

Another great book by Shelley Shepard Gray! And being read by Robynn Rodriguez makes it even more special. Somehow Gray conveys such true to life emotions in perfectly posed text! Can't wait to hear another!!!
    Inspiring and "wonderful good" story!
What did you love best about Autumns Promise?
Autumn's Promise is a powerful story that keeps your interest and inspires the listener to trust God for working things out for good. What was one of the most memorable moments of Autumns Promise?
The most memorable moments of Autumn's Promise was the end of the story and the struggles that Lily and others went through. Also, to be honest with one's self and others is always the path that God wants us to follow.

Who was the most memorable character of Autumns Promise and why?
Lily is the most memorable character of Autumn's Promise because it is through her, I believe, that most of the lessons of the story come through to the listener.
