its a bit short

its not the whole story it just stops after the elevator scene in Washington dc. other than that it was a solid prformance by MacLeod Andrews

it's okay...But...

I love the novelization of the movie. I even like the narrator's take on Spider-Man's voice.....my only problem with this is that it's only the first half of the story ! Come on man !

If Siri read you a book

I am so sad. I have so looked forward to this book and I can't listen to it because the narration is awful! A couple of times I thought maybe a computer was reading it. How could they do this to such a great series?

great prequel! just as good as the others.

Loved the story. A little grim for very young listeners, but great for 4th grade and up depending on the child. Very surpelrised that the quality of the story was equal to that of the other books. This was not just a "money maker" using the success of the Cupboard series, but an authentic pre story of its own.

I love how the plot twists and turns tying perfectly together. Prequels can be a tricky thing, and this one is done to perfection!

I always try to listen to something like this as a complete entity. I don't pick it apart. Like any good book there is something special in every beginning, middle, and end.

Any additional comments?

I read a review saying that it seemed that this audiobook sounded like Siri. I think that's simply ridiculous. Kathleen Gati has done a masterful job of telling the story with warmth and focus, while at the same time allowing the listener to paint their own picture as they follow along. This is not meant to be an animated movie with "character voices". Ms Gati's voice masterfully draws you into the story without ever overpowering it. Bravo.

Like the old Disney: kids and dogs are the heroes

Bowser is not Chet; he has not been trained to take down perps by their pant legs. But Bowser is still pretty smart and very doggy. Birdie is a smart, take-no-nonsense 10 year-old. Grammy is a powerhouse, and Snoozy is the town kook. This is a delightful series that I wouldn't mind sharing with my young children. Just enough mystery, just enough tension, not too much violence, and some humor too! Spencer Quinn has another great duo here. It's a sweet tale of family, love, trust, and bravery.

I can't imagine anyone but James Frangione voicing these dogs. He makes them come alive with their loyalty and dog sense.

Poof, I love it

I read all the books of the original series in a week and the first 4 of this one in 2 days. I thought that it was amazing and that the series was completely over and than Poof, they wrote this one and yes, I've already finished it.

I was wondering how they could possibly really continue the series without it being boring but this just proves me wrong. It has such an intresting way of continuing the story and continuing the character development.

So yeah, this is probably one of my favorite book series' ever.

Good Book

To be honest I didn't think they would make another book in this series. After the whole Wrym thing I thought, you know, series over; and when I saw they had made a fifth I though, "Uh Oh". However, the book surprised me by how well written it was. Recommend to not ignore this book. I do think they could have stopped the Fall of the Beast series and put it in a new series

Couple of the scenes over the top, but making allowances as a "tween" book, those scenes would probably be appreciated by this crowd, and the villainous characters who were also "over the top" were acceptable given the parameters

The story was great, I loved the mystery! I didn't give the performance 5 stars because the girls' dialogue sounded a little funny. But the rest was fine and the narrator did great! Over all, I loved the book and thought it was a great, enjoyable listen.
