Publisher's Summary:
Carter Spence is a 26-year-old accountant out of Boston, who has an out-of-body experience following a car accident that kills his parents. He views the chaos from above the scene of the accident, then passes through the tunnel and reunites with relatives who have long been dead. A woman he does not recognize approaches him and says, "Welcome, son." Her message to him is that he needs to be aware of his true identity, and should follow signs that will lead him there. She mentions mountains, but Carter is jolted back into his physical body before she can finish. After burying his parents, Carter heads west and meets a free spirit named Brenda, whom he is drawn to on many levels. She becomes his travelling companion and leads him to Boulder, Colorado, to an old white house, of an old man named Martin. Diaries, hypnosis, and past-life regression, reveal a bizarre connection between these three. Carter discovers that the truth to his identity can only be found by pursuing the answer to whether he is the reincarnation of his biological father, in what is shaping up to be a love affair rekindled beyond the grave.
Members Reviews:
Take a journey in a fascinating read.
This is a good story and if you are interested in near death experiences pick this up. the author takes readers into the life of Carter Spence, beginning with a car wreck where Carter is taken to the other side and then sent back to discover something about his life. he heads west on his journey where he meets Brenda and an older gentleman,Martin. The two have a lot more to do with Carter than he thought possible and the journey for answers begins. This is a book I think may people will love and deals with a couple of subjects I find fascinating.
A Novel of Life/Life After Death/And Life Again
GM has written an unusual novel about the approach of death and how we as individuals listen the word of eternity sounds as loud as a blown horn. The main character's parents are killed when forced off the road which force which resulted in their death, but the song was ejected. You need to read this novel to understand the life after death presentation. This is an excellent read for the genre..... ER
Not my usual type of read
Giving this a two because of errors & the fact that too much was crowded into to little space in telling of the story.
Note to author & proof readers. Pay closer attention to the proper uses of the words (then & than).
While I understand this story is fiction, "Rabies" shots are not something that are given UNLESS a person has been exposed to a rabid animal. In this story Carter is bitten by an animal & Brend asks when he had his last rabies shot. Errors like this cause me to lose interest fast. From that point on I pretty much just skimmed through to the end.
The ending was especially crowded with events that seemed to play out over a short period, but if in reality these things would have taken much more time. Don't rush the story.
Great Read!!
Loved it, very quick to grab your attention, Enjoyed the book!!
It draws you in on this young man's journey to becoming conscious
This descriptive tale of a man's wake up call, stemming from a near death experience. Illustrates vividly, how intuitive we really are, should be chose to really listen. Glenn Maynard made you feel what this young man was feeling, going through this transition!
