Title: Weve Already Gone This Far
    Author: Patrick Dacey
Narrator: Tanya Eby, Sean Pratt, Paul Michael Garcia
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 6 hrs and 20 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 02-16-16
    Publisher: Blackstone Audio, Inc.
Ratings: 3 of 5 out of 4 votes
Genres: Fiction, Short Stories & Anthologies
    Publisher's Summary:
A heartfelt, vital collection; the debut of an exciting new talent already hailed as one of George Saunders' "favorite young American writers".
In Patrick Dacey's stunning debut, we meet longtime neighbors and friends - citizens of working-class Wequaquet - right when the ground beneath their feet has shifted in ways they don't yet understand. Here, after more than a decade of boom and bust, love and pride are closely twinned and dangerously deployed: A lonely woman attacks a memorial to a neighbor's veteran son; a dissatisfied housewife goes overboard with cosmetic surgery on national television; a young father walks away from one of the few jobs left in town; and a soldier writes home to a mother who is becoming increasingly unhinged.
We've Already Gone This Far takes us to a town like many towns in America, a place where people are searching for what is now an almost out of reach version of the American dream. Story by story, Dacey draws us into the secret lives of recognizable strangers and reminds us that life's strange intensity and occasional magic is all around us, especially in the everyday. With a skewering insight and real warmth of spirit, Dacey delivers that rare and wonderful thing in American fiction: a deeply felt, deeply imagined book about where we've been and how far we have to go.

    Going to go much further
Quirky and often provocative short stories, all in all an enjoyable read.I expect this author will quickly grow in his craft.I can suggest this as an entertaining but thoughtful book. I have already been moved to re-read someof the stories.
The best book I've read in a long time - a must read!
Like a breath of fresh air in the literary world. Patrick Dacey's new book is not only set in the present, but is relatable to everyone. His stories are heart-reaching yet full of humor. The characters are (like all of us at some point) striving to find the kind of love and happiness that we all long for. Stuck in situations that have led them to feel lost or damaged, they push through looking for that light. Trying to remind themselves, or (often) their children, that such happiness does exist.
This is an excellent short story collection
This is an excellent short story collection. Highly recommended. With the struggles of the dwindling middle class and America's involvement in the Middle East being such prominent issues in the current election cycle, We've Already Gone This Far is a timely read in its portrayal of individuals still trying to hold on to or find some semblance of love and feeling in this extremely messed up world of ours. What a debut! Here's a link to a cool interview I found on YouTube of the author, Patrick Dacey, talking about the book:

    Short stories worth reading.
Loved this work. Each story is twisty. Reminds me of Dennis Johnson and Peter Orner's works.
    Must read
    Great story and wonderful articulation!

I loved these 4 stories.. They are all different but also have some great chemistry.
Odiously they are shorts so short and to the point.. Hmm Hot menHotter ladies.. Fabulous, loving and women and men coming into their own.
Each story sucks you in to the very end. I think the narrator has a lot to do with that she does a great job being real in each story.

Title: The Tragedy of Errors, and Others
    Author: Ellery Queen
    Narrator: Traber Burns
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 2 hrs and 36 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 12-18-15
    Publisher: Blackstone Audio, Inc.
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 7 votes
Genres: Fiction, Short Stories & Anthologies
    Publisher's Summary:
The Tragedy of Errors is the lengthy and detailed plot outline for the final but never published Ellery Queen novel, containing all the hallmarks of the greatest Queen mysteries - the dying message, the succession of false solutions before the astonishing truth is revealed, and scrupulous fair play to the listener. And the theme is one that Queen had been developing for many years: the manipulation of events in a world going mad by people who aspire to the power of gods.
The Tragedy of Errors also contains the six hitherto uncollected Ellery Queen short stories: "Terror Town", "Uncle from Australia", "The Three Students", "The Odd Man", "The Honest Swindler", "The Reindeer Clue", and "Wedding Anniversary".

I liked this book very. I like all of his books. It was very interesting. I
have many of his books. This one was just a little different.
    Five Stars
Love reading all of Ellery Queen books keeps you interested all the time.
    A good read for fans
If you're already a fan of Ellery Queen, this is an excellent book to buy. It includes Dannay's outline for the final Ellery Queen novel, The Tragedy of Errors, several short stories, and a variety of essays on both authors and their work. The outline and letter from Dannay to Lee and the first essay especially provide a good picture of how the authors' collaboration worked, which make for fascinating reading if you're an admirer of the books.
That said, if you're not a devoted fan or just looking for a good mystery read, this is not the book you're looking for. While The Tragedy of Errors would obviously have been a great book if it had ever been turned into one, it remains an outline-- it's more interesting as a picture of how Danny and Lee worked than as a mystery in itself, since it hasn't been fleshed out into a book. The short stories are excellent, especially the previously unpublished Terror Town, but there are six. If you're newly interested in Ellery Queen, wait on this book until you've read more of his (their) work.
A fine potpourri of stories and essays for devotees.
This fine book from Crippen and Landru consists actually of 3 (maybe 4) parts. The first is the outline of an Ellery Queen novel which, with the death of Manfred B. Lee in 1971, never got written fully or finalized. For devotees such as this reviewer, it is great to see, even in such a limited way, one last, full length E.Q. plot. I was afraid to tackle it, but actually enjoyed it. In my opinion, the finished novel would have been better that the previous 3 (House of Brass, The Last Woman in His Life, and A Fine and Private Place). The second part consists of a slew of E.Q. short stories published in the last years and a non-E.Q. ss never before anthologized. These are fun but not top-notch, and one was written by Edward D. Hoch, who has never been known to write a bad detective story. The non-E.Q. story, which might be considered as a separate part, is different and hard to judge for me. The last part of the book, which was unexpected for me, is what really powers it, a series of short essays by friends, editors, other writers, and, very specially, several of the Lee and Dannay children. It has lots of valuable anecdotes, biography, history, criticism, and just plain love.

    Publisher's Summary:
Lust has always been the emotion of choice, love nothing more than a silly game played by delusional fools.
Lisa Parks has been successful at everything she touches, her confidence her calling card. A recent move to Maine from New York is just the change of atmosphere she needs for a fresh start. With far too many mistakes in her past, her eyes remain focused on loving and leaving, her actions justified by far too many cracks in her damaged heart.
Marc Martin is living the dream, his college paid for and his sights set on great things. In a quick turnaround trip to help his older sister, Kari, move to Maine after a heartbreak, Marc meets the woman who just might be his match. Lust has been a reoccurring theme in his life, and he has no plans of changing that. He is young and free, handsome and ready to set the world on fire, and finds that he is justified in breaking hearts everywhere he goes. Besides, love is a game played by many and truly won by few.
No way would he ever consider settling down or letting someone into his heart. That is...until he meets Lisa.
Recommended for 18+ due to harsh language and sexual situations.

    Typical
I was voluntarily provided this book via audiobook boom. This book was not edited very well. It was also just 1 hour long and many parts seemed to be rushed. The story was different in that the parents made the arranged marriage and even though both of them did not want to do it. They did. Not enough meat in the story.
    okay.
    Any additional comments?
This audiobook was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary unbiased review.
The romance was sweet, but i really did not like this book. Due to the inaccurate descriptions and word choices. This was NOT a mail ordered bride romance, but an arranged marriage. This was also historically inaccurate, in things like word usage for slut instead of immoral or loose woman. i give this story 2 stars, the narrator's performance was well done but she could read the phone book and it would sound great. overall it is a nice little short read, nothing to really ride home about, but not a book that should be unmade.
    A Short Story..
    Any additional comments?
This was a very short story that is not a Christian Romance.
Overall, could have been a better read.
Meghan Kelly did well with the narration.
    Note:
"This audio book was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in

Enjoyable but to short of a listen
    Any additional comments?
I thought for such a short story the author fit a lot in with little or no filler, you know what is going on and do not feel lost or that something was incomplete. I do wish it had been a little longer but it was well written. Other reviews said this isnt a mail order bride story, sure it is just the parents were writing back and forward not the bride and groom.
James want to get out from under his parents thumb, they are willing to open a new branch to their business but only if he is married. James doesnt really want to get married but is willing to do just about anything to have a life of his own. I really liked this character he is kind and caring. He really goes out of his way to please Jessie. Jessie is so floored when she finds out she is getting married. She doesnt want to but agrees to it. She does her best to make the most of it. She was a very enjoyable character that I really liked

Length: 3 hrs and 28 mins

    Publisher's Summary:
Short stories about sexual encounters, the energies that conspire to create them, and the energies that are created in their wake. Prose that explores our human endeavors to love. The Odd Purgatory is like no other collection of erotic short fiction.
Sometimes the most salient moments in our erotic explorations take no more to delineate than a paragraph or two. At other times, the arc of a traditional story structure is needed. In either case, the collection is more about "being" as opposed to "doing", and about the space between the words.
With original music by Jeff Evans.

    An unexpected pleasure
You know, I did not expect to enjoy this piece of art as much as I did. Who knew this author, actor, playwright was so freaking talented? Thank you for sharing your personal perception, Mr. Cobb.
Painting with Words; a Peek into Other's Lives
Would you listen to The Odd Purgatory of My Personal Perception again? Why?
The best stories move you in to the lives of their characters. In this collection, the author has gone beyond and draws you in to their most intimate thoughts and experiences. Touches of lightness counterbalance the difficulties and challenges of love, loss, lust and being human. These stories are more little paintings of the lives and moments that could be ours or someone we've known.
What does Keith Hamilton Cobb bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
These character portraits and peeks into personal lives have an extra flavor added by the warmth and variances of the storyteller's voice.
If you could take any character from The Odd Purgatory of My Personal Perception out to dinner, who would it be and why?
I think it would be he would take me to dinner. Or buy me a drink. Reuben, the 'strong, nearly-silent type' bartender in "Kathryn Tells Her Soon-To-Be Ex-Lover a Thing or Two," is an intriguing side note in the story. And yet this character is the truth teller, gatekeeper and protector. How could you not be drawn to Rueben? Or maybe it's just me.
    THIS IS ONLY ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!
What made the experience of listening to The Odd Purgatory of My Personal Perception the most enjoyable?
    1. It worked! Total technophobe, ancient P.C. but it actually does exactly what it says on the tin. You don't need Windows 10. Yay!
    2. You can pause, rewind; OK, you can do that with a paper book as well but it's less effort to listen again than to re-read.
    3. The fact that it is read by the author is a huge plus, there is no substitute for the expression he brings to this beautiful prose.
What other book might you compare The Odd Purgatory of My Personal Perception to, and why?
This is a tough one... For the wonderful detail of different characters' perceptions, perhaps the Thorn Birds? Though that is a continuous narrative and this, a collection of short stories but the way Mr. Cobb gets inside different characters' heads is somewhat akin to the way Colleen McCullough does, if I may be so bold.
For the sheer empathy with a vast range of completely different characters; straight men, gay men, women... Game of Thrones. How George R R Martin can make one care about such a diverse collection of people is a mystery to me but Mr.

    Interesting Characters and Situations
What made the experience of listening to Billionaire Romance: The Billionaire's Private Island the most enjoyable?
The book is the second in a trilogy of books and it is lighthearted and interesting. The characters make the book. You kind of hate Luke, the one treating the 10 women he invited to his island to play Bachelor with, but you like him all at the same time. He seems to get hurt a lot in this book and you feel for him every time. The other characters also have interesting and either likable or detestable personalities that bring spark to the book.
What did you like best about this story?
The characters in the book are what I liked the most. They are all very different and interesting. It is fun to see how they interact with each other because they aren't all that nice in some spots.
    Which scene was your favorite?
I enjoyed when the massage therapist woman actually helped him when he got hurt in one scene. I really want him to end up with her.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and it is very possible. In fact, I bought the third book and wanted to listen to it right away. It only takes an hour and a half to listen to the second book, and you don't want to stop once you get started.
    Any additional comments?
The author has a way of introducing sex scenes that are not lurid and nasty, so I did not feel too uncomfortable while reading them. She has a good sense of dialog that made the book fun to listen too and made me want more.
    Great romance with fun twist
This romance is everything! I absolutely loved it and ended up finishing the entire thing in one sitting. Its that good!! Without giving too much a way, a sexy millionaire looking for some fun decides to purchase his own island where he builds 10 mansions and invites 10 beautiful and successful women for some fun and adventure.
