I Simply enjoyed the whole thing.

I thought it was wonderful to slip back into "The Twilight zone once again.

Good mystery - the rest, not so much.

I have mixed feelings about this episode. This story probably looked great on paper. A mysteriously empty plane lands. Classic Twilight Zone stuff, right? Sadly, only partly true.

The mystery part is good. The explanation (no spoiler) unsatisfying.

Sound and voice acting is good.

An old man with "magical" powers is the apple of a small girl's eye. When she discovers two mysterious men are out to find him, she does what she can to help.

Members Reviews:

So so acting Good story. Great ending.

Two of my pet peeves (kid actors and Stan Freberg) in the same episode... shudder. I always listen to a T Z episode with some trepidation, when I see that Stan Freberg (the king of maniacal overacting) is acting/narrating. Here he is... tolerable. Just a few cackling "he he's" The kids then? The female (girl) lead is good. The supporting cast of kid actors is just baad.

So why don't I hate this episode? A good story and a great ending, that's why.

Great story and great acting

The main characters are brilliant and story has a good little twist you don't see coming . Highly recommend .... Thumbs up

A newspaper editor facing bankruptcy hires a man with uncanny abilities to predict the news. His newfound employee gets the newspaper back in the black, but at a devil of a price.

Members Reviews:

A fresh take on an old story.

The big predictable reveal comes early. What comes after that is a fresh take on the old "sell your soul to the devil" story. Not spoiling what happens in the second half of the story. Just saying that I liked it a lot.

Side note: The swig and glug in the beginning made me laugh.

Political fanatic Oliver Crangle has determined that at 4 p.m. he'll rid the world of all evil people by shrinking them to two feet tall. But his plan may prove a little short-sighted.

49 minutes of malignant maniacal rambling.

This episode is waay too long for its thin content. Having to listen to Stan Freeberg's malignant rambling monolog for the entire episode is just too much to bare.

I've listened to narrations by Freeberg before and sort of knew what to expect - namely gross overacting. (No director?) Strangely he suited this story just perfect. Too bad the story is just a massive dose of delusional evil negativity. Cut down to under 30 minutes it might have been bearable (just).

Spare yourself the agony of this episode. Not enjoyable at all.

it is super fun

Love this little Story's buying a story now and then. enjoying it to the fullest

Members Reviews:

Adam Baldwin makes this simple story enjoyable.

A very simple story that needs a good actor to make it work. Actually Adam Baldwin does a great job playing what is essentially a 40 minute long monolog (or perhaps conversation...), played out in a single room. Recommended.

A man travels back in time to the date of President Lincoln's assassination in the hope of saving him. Will his presence have any impact at all and can he actually change history?

Members Reviews:

Very Entertaining!

Easy listening.

Very Entertaining.

Great Narration.

Loved it.

There are many more dramatizations to choose from.

I would highly recommend this to everyone.

Good "can you go back and change history" episode.

Yet another "trying to change history" episode. Not too predictable as is often the case with these. Good voice acting.

Reminded me of a retro radio show

What did you love best about Back There?

I am a fan of Jim Caviezel, his voice and talent is perfect for audible books. I have the Bible series he was in as well. This TZ story is short and reminiscent of old radio shows, and like the TV show. It is worth the $1.99. I listen to it from time to time when I go walking instead of music.

Jack Weston is an untalented would-be TV writer whose career takes off when the ghost of William Shakespeare writes his scripts for him.

Members Reviews:

Fun story. Somewhat flawed casting.

Story is lighthearted and fun. The mix of archaic and contemporary language is done well.

The casting of John Ratzenberger as the self absorbed hack TV writer is spot on. The casting of Keach as William Shakespeare - not so much. To have the host narrator do "The Bard" did not work out well. I just heard Stacy Keach. Not William Shakespeare.

The most fun? The "I concur" guy. Very small part, but very fun.

Malice.

45 minutes of pure acerbic malice. I really should dislike this episode. But I don't. Sure, it's as "feelbad" as can be, but it's well written and very well acted. Can't take that away.

But be warned - this is a dark episode.

Good, I like it.

I have no complaints. The narrators are fine and the story is same as the Original Zone episode. "Oh Uncle Simon...I'll be right there with your hot chocolate!"

Even if you did read it, this episode is well worth a listen. Well acted. Funny and a little creepy. Recommended.
