    Love!
Great read! I love the women's voice who reads. This story will keep you gyessing.
The performer was difficult to listen too
I purchased this book because I have a fondness of Lois Duncan and already own her books in paper. The story is wonderful and if you like a paranormal style suspense, don't hesitate to read this book. That being said, I had a lot of trouble listening to this book in audible because the performers voice was very shaky and the different voices were difficult to discern. I was very disappointed.

    Love this series
I love this whole series, can be a little hard to stay with since Dru does more in her head dialog than actually speaking, but still love it and am looking forward to the conclusion.
Geered to the teens, but I like the teen storys more since they have to focus on the story and not just sex scenes every other page.
    This Series does get better.....

    I want more!
I really love these books. I've read then all and listening to them has been great. I wish the whole series was on here.
    Always surprised
If you could sum up Awakening in three words, what would they be?
    Keep on going!!!
Who was your favorite character and why?
    Morgan and Hunter
What does Julia Whelan bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
the character's. You understand them so much better. You can bond with them and really get there personalities.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    Wicca Way's
    Any additional comments?
I bought the first book and listened to all five in less then a week.
A New Beginning for the young Witch
Would you listen to Awakening again? Why?
Yes. I would listen to it again to pick up on things I may have missed and because the story is so interesting.
What did you like best about this story?
I enjoyed the drama of one relationship ending painfully between Morgan and Cal, to the beginning of a true and more powerful relationship starting between Morgan and Hunter. Its so Ironic that Hunter is the guy that she hated the most, and he might be her Soul mate.
What about Julia Whelans performance did you like?
In the beginning of this story I didnt really like Julia because her voice just seemed to teenager, but as the story developed and she started using her Irish and Gaelic accents I really think she did an excellent job.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I enjoyed this book. It huts to see Morgan was betrayed by Cal, but I actually saw that coming. What I didnt see was Hunter and Morgan hooking up possibly. It was also very sad to see David stripped of his powers for making a mistake only once. I just didnt see why the council passed such a harsh punishment for a first time offender.
    Any additional comments?
This book started with the escape of Cal and his mother, Morgan being rescued from a burning building by her friends. Then ended with Hunter showing Morgan she was his hearts desire in Morganite stone. Great story, but I really think it left to many questions.
love this series just wish they had the rest on
love the story line book is amazing not a disappointment great read . if you love witch stories you will love this one
    Love these books
What did you love best about Awakening?
It's just a little piece of an excellent story all around.
What did you like best about this story?
The conflict is interesting and dimensional.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    Something is happening to me...
    Any additional comments?
I absolutely love this series. I loved in when it was only in paper back and I bought it when I was in the 8th grade. And here I am listening to it on audio book 11 years later. I REALLY wish they would finish this series.

    Members Reviews:
    Very relatable
I enjoyed this book. It was a nice easy read, but i enjoyed it and found myself relating to Marissa and how she feels a lot. This book is very relatable for somebody who has struggled with anxiety/depression. Worth a read!
    Great Book
the only thing i had a problem with was there was not a lot of romance with nash and marisa
    Eveeything else was wonderful
Nice story with a nice message
Would you try another book from Susane Colasanti and/or Kate Rudd?
yeah I have all her books , and Kate Rudd is just great
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
that Nash didn't try that nearly kiss scene and he treated Marrisa like a friend all the time
What about Kate Rudds performance did you like?
she feels the characters and she narrates at a good speed
Did Waiting for You inspire you to do anything?

    fine
The narration was so inviting and lulling that I found myself engaged on a level I think the book alone would have not been able to achieve.
    Too slow, disappointed in story
The performance was fine, even good, but the story is just terribly slow. The whole book seems like a set up for a series rather than setting up an engaging story that readers can't wait to continue. There were parts that were good, but this could have been edited down to a few hours instead of dragging on and on and on.

    Members Reviews:
    Pretty Good
Everything about Feeling Sorry For Celia was pretty good. The way the book was written in notes and letters was creative, but it wasn't needed. The story was interesting, but not page-turning. It was all okay.

  • Don't Waste Your Sports Audiobook by C. J. Mahaney

    Title: Don't Waste Your Sports
    Author: C. J. Mahaney
    Narrator: Sean Runnette
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 53 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 03-03-11
    Publisher: christianaudio.com
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 3 votes
    Genres: Teens, Ages 11-13
    Publisher's Summary:
"Why is it that sports seem to bring out the best and the worst in us?" asks author C. J. Mahaney. Sports are a gift from God. But as soon as you introduce the human heart, things get complicated. For the Christian athlete, sports are one of the key battlegrounds in which pride and self-glory are regular temptations. If sports are indeed a gift from God, why are playing fields and courts so often arenas for our egos? How are we to enjoy sports in a godly way?
Self-described pastor-athlete C. J. Mahaney looks to Scripture for principles that speak to the role of sports in our lives. This audiobook outlines how Christian athletes are to play for the glory of God and model gratitude, humility, and service. With candor and humor, Mahaney recounts his own story with sports and through illustrations and practical applications exhorts athletes not to "waste their sports". The audio concludes with application questions and an addendum to parents.
    Members Reviews:
    Memorable and relevant.
I love C.J. Mahaney's books. They have been instrumental in helping me understand some practical applications of the scripture, in turn helping me grow as a follower of Christ. This booklet is no exception. In summary, it is a translation and paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 10:31 into modern life, sports talk, guy style. Mahaney gives readers several important things to think about and apply to life - if they are serious about living a real, relevant life dedicated to Christ.
The only thing keeping me from rating this book 5 stars is the 6-chapter, 56-page booklet (rather than book) length. Mahaney's books are memorable and relevant, but I am always hungry for more.
I purchased this as a Kindle eBook and had no trouble loading it on my standard Kindle.
    Short but helpful
The book is a simple reminder to do everything you do, including sports, for the glory of God. You can read it in 30 minutes.
Great book for anyone who watches or plays sports
This is a great book! I first listened to it from Christianaudio. I would recommend it to ANYONE who watches or plays sports. And especially parents of sports kids.
I have found it very valuable in evaluating how I can play sports for God's glory.
Well worth the few dollars! =-)
    Previous waster of sports
I played sports in Highschool and I wish I had access to this book back then. I was a good guy on the team, but I did "waste my sports" on the field. I will keep this book and hope to someday lead a family through how to not waste their sports.
A Great Book Read By A HUGE Sports Fan
I have been a sports participant/fan longer than I have been a Christian and that has been 43 years. Reading this book is the first time I have read what it means to and how to glorify God in sports. I HIGHLY recommend this book to all, but especially sports fans and participants!

    Title: Prisoners in the Palace
Subtitle: How Princess Victoria Became Queen with the Help of Her Maid, a Reporter, and a Scoundrel
    Author: Michaela MacColl
    Narrator: Charlotte Parry, Michaela MacColl
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 10 hrs and 12 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 12-16-10
    Publisher: Audible Studios
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 47 votes
    Genres: Teens, Ages 11-13
    Publisher's Summary:
London, 1838. Sixteen-year-old Liza's dreams of her society debut are dashed when her parents are killed in an accident. Penniless, she accepts the position of lady's maid to young Princess Victoria and steps unwittingly into the gossipy intrigue of the servant's world below-stairs, as well as the trickery above. Is it possible that her changing circumstances may offer Liza the chance to determine her own fate, find true love, and secure the throne for her future queen?
Meticulously based on newly discovered information, this riveting novel is as rich in historical detail as Catherine, Called Birdy and as sizzling with intrigue as The Luxe.
    Critic Reviews:
"This novel is full of historical detail, vivid settings, and richly drawn characters, and themes of friendship and romance give the story teen appeal; Liza is a brave yet conflicted young adult with whom readers will identify. The author takes liberties with some historical facts (clarified in an afterword) to create a tale of espionage, romance, grief, and hope." (Booklist)
    Members Reviews:
    Warning: Cute young adult novel
This "cute" novel probably deserves a higher rating, but I wasn't expecting a young adult listen. That said, I admit curling up with it for an afternoon/evening listen when under the weather. For enjoyable and more solid listening on Queen Vic, however, I'd recommend to anyone over the age of 13 the nonfiction audiobook "We Two" which plays as smoothly as most fiction.
When Audible joined Amazon and upgraded the web site, they seem to have lost the "category" label on audiobooks. While the category label was sometimes misleading or even wrong, at least it prevented an accidental download of young adult lit.
    Nice part of history
This is a neat story about Victoria before she became the queen of U.K. Well written and you really feel there. IQ enjoyed it. IT was like taking history with a nice dose of pompous. A fun read!

And make Chris discover that truth and trust are not the simple ideals he once believed.
    Members Reviews:
Bear in mind this is a short story for teenagers
This is a bit like the audio equivalent of watching a play on TV rather than a Hollywood blockbuster on the big screen. A charming little love story between a hippy living in a squat and an innocent young man working with a devious character who has someone out to get him. They get together, then lose contact and then keep missing each other on the streets of Oxford, while there is a thriller running in parallel. A bit of light relief that's beautifully written although some of the narrator's accents are as suspect as some of the characters.
    Very sad and sorry tale
This was a sad and sorry tale of manipulation, loss of innocence and very bad timing! Not quite what I was expecting from this author at all. I did not enjoy the narrators voice, but in retrospect it actually fit very well with the story and the discomfort it engendered.
If you are looking for something positive, give this a miss.

As good as the Harry Potter books
Dont be fooled by this series this is no childs tale. Horrors both man and beast run through these pages and you will soar with telling of the tale of young Rosamund Bookchild. Expertly illustrated by the author himself (not that you can see this in an audio book) open your eyes and mind to world of the Monster blood tattoo series you wont be disappointed.
    A Page-Turning Tale!
Well written and narrated. A tale that keeps you interested from first to last!
Please tell me there's more after this!!!
Excellent and well worth the wait - but please tell me there'll be more to follow! I want to know what happens after this stage of life for our little Foundling. I would rank this series of stories right up there with Harry Potter - totally engrossing and completely unique.
    I have good news!
I fell in love with the first book in this trilogy, Foundling in 2008. Then shortly after Lamplighter. I was very much in awe of the depth, detail and lore that DM Cornish had created in his world. I loved the characters because they were none of them perfect yet very endearing, likable and admirable. When this final book was released, and I learned that it was the conclusion to a trilogy I was so upset. I would listen to the story up until about the 4th chapter from the end and then I would start it again at chapter 1, because I DID NOT WANT IT TO END. I eventually did listen to the entire story and have since then listened to all three books at least 4 dozen times. Sometime in 2011 or so I became fb friends with DM Cornish and he is so very humble and kind and engages with his readers and fans quite often. I harassed him a bit about a week back and said that Rossamünd deserved so MUCH more than just 3 books. He replied shortly after and said that he agreed and that he had another book on the drawing board.
So, if you are already a loving fan of these books that DM wrote and for which he created the most detailed and unique world then YAY US...we are going to get to go on another adventure with Rossamünd soon! If you have not read/listened to the Trilogy yet then I envy you because you get to experience it for the first time. I RARELY write reviews for ANYTHING. This series, the characters, the beautiful writing with some of the most creative and subtle metaphors and the absolutely outstanding narration by Humphrey Bower rank these books at the very top of my list. That's saying something as I have over 1k titles on Audible alone.
One note, people think this is a children's book series, and while I very much agree that children over the age of 8 or 9 will have their imaginations set ablaze when they listen to this, there is some violence that may not be appropriate for the little ones.
decent but thought the other two were better
maybe I was distracted when listening to this 3rd book but I found it wasn't as engaging as the other two books. felt it was pretty predictable this time around.
