Nice short stories

There are nine short stories in this collection, and they're all enjoyable. All of the stories are different enough that there should be a story that everyone likes in here. I'm not usually a fan of short stories because I always wish they were longer, and indeed I wouldn't mind reading longer versions of them, especially After the Fall, Long Walks on the Beach and Recipes for Love. If you're after a nice way to spend a few hours, this is a good place to start.

Dull narrator

This is such a fantastic book. I was so excited when I saw this as an audiobook. Unfortunately the narration is just dull. His voice is nice enough. The problem is that there was no change between characters. If it didnt say Gus said or Sam said you cant tell whos talking.

Good start to a new series, not so good narrator

I loved it. I hated how the pack treated Sam, that was just bullshit. I loved the banter between Sam and Gus. They make a great team. I wanted Gus to take on the alpha because that was Guss familys farm. He had no right to do that. I cant wait to see them settle down and start their own pack. What would even make this even better is if this was an mpreg book so they could have a littler of pups and kitties all their own.

A bad narrator can ruin a story...

This was a lot of fun! One thing I appreciate about BA Tortugas shifter books is how animal-like the shifters are, even while in human form. They purr, growl, crave tuna, rub against one another and chase birds in the park. Sometimes the writing style reflects this short, staccato phrases that go along with a more simple brain and this can be disconcerting until you get into the rhythm.

I was confused at times by the whole mate thing. Its not as simple as some other shifter novels where they meet, know immediately and claim one another. Its a bit more subtle than that, so I found myself flipping back and forth trying to figure out if Id missed something when our MCs go from fighting to fucking to calling one another Mate.

I also didnt fully understand the whole situation regarding Sam in the city and what happened. Maybe well learn more as the series progresses? But that was not really clear. Nor was the family situation. I guess the sanctuary is meant to be the big adopted family but having everyone refer to one another as brother and sister (even when they hooked up) was a bit confusing and disconcerting. (I was also confused about the type of cat Sam was the cover suggests a Jaguar but the way he acted felt more like a house cat)

Overall, I really enjoyed this.

How did this happen?

I'm actually really bummed.

I usually enjoy Finn Sterling's narration and this, for the most part, was no exception. Sterling uses distinctive character voices for every character, he has good pacing, he has good timing, he adds just enough emotion to his performance...this was shaping up to be a 5-star narration for me.

And then one of the main character's voices changed.

The character voice for Josh literally changed throughout the production. Josh's voice started out normal, and the change was subtle at first. But then it got progressively higher in pitch until, by the end, the character sounded like what I would imagine it would sound like if Mike Tyson and Mickey Mouse had a love child.

I honestly do not understand how it is possible that Sterling didn't notice, or how this got through proofing without someone acknowledging, "Dude, you changed Josh's voice. What's up with that?"

Talk about disappointing. If it weren't for that I would be raving about this - the story is sweet, low angst, nice characters, a little heat...too bad Josh's voice became my main focus taking away from the rest of what would have and could have been an awesome audio.

Cute story

3.5 stars across the board

This will be short and sweet. The story was very cute, and the characters were likable. However, things seemed to come just a little too easily throughout the tale.

The narrarator wasn't bad. However, the voice he chose for Josh, one of the MCs, almost made this a dnf for me.

My heart went out to Christian

Josh works on tiling and other construction. He is working on an apartment for a man when he realizes the man is locked in the bedroom. After Christian falls in the bathroom Josh rescues him to see him covered in scars.

Christian is worried that the friendship they built through closed doors will be over once Josh sees him but it only intensifies but can Josh convince Christians his scars are only skin deep and no one will notice as much as he thinks. Can he get Christian to come out of the shadows for him?

I enjoyed this story a lot. It is an M/M take on beauty and the beast set in real life scenario. K.C.Wells has created several interesting characters and the plot is interesting and keeps you pulled in. There are also a few more characters I would love to see stories.

Finn Sterling did a good job on narrating this story and bringing the story and characters to life.

Amazing!

This audiobook was the perfect storm: a fantastic plot, with a great reader.

Furlong has a steady voice that is very pleasant to listen to. He reads at the perfect pace; not too slow as to be annoying, and not so fast that I felt I was missing things. He makes each character sound distinct without going over the top - I'm definitely going to seek out his other works, now.

The plot is very interesting too. The author does a wonderful job of giving each character depth - people have good traits and bad, and she isn't afraid to show that. Madison also avoids falling into stereotypical characterization. Though Jake is a rich kid who wants for nothing, he works hard and doesn't come across as spoiled. He's probably my favorite character in this book, and I was rooting for his happiness the whole way. Rich is the perfect match, and listening to these two stumble around each other was fun and engaging. I even love the side characters, like Tom. The writing is smooth and everything fits together so well. I don't know a thing about horses, but after listening to this book, I feel like I do.

This book made me smile, laugh, and feel incredibly anxious over the fate of the characters.I've struggled with finishing books lately, but this one caught me and kept me right on through to the end. I love the characters and their romance!

Loved it!

I loved this audiobook! The story of Rich and Jake was touching, sometimes painful, but throughout a beautiful story of perseverance, forgiveness, and love. I especially loved the way Jake's father was given a chance to redeem himself. I will definitely be looking for more books/audiobooks by this author.

The narration by Gary Furlong was excellent. He has a gift for delivering the emotions and attitudes of different characters and situations.

This was a wonderfully written story centered in the competitive world of horse showing and riding. Jake was an Olympic hopeful at the age of 20 when a tragic accident kills his two best horses, his boyfriend is severely injured and even he has some lingering effects. But Jake's wealthy father has learned that Jake is involved with a man and won't have it. He buys Rich off by offering to pay his medical and rehabilitation bills in exchange for breaking up with Jake and never seeing him again. Because he is poor, Rich reluctantly agrees. Cut to 8 years later and Jake is training for the Olympics once again when his trainer announces he has cancer. Tom contacts Rich, a trainer himself now, and asks him to fill in for him with Jake.

Basic plot was good but fell short

The over all idea for the plot line was good, but it just fell short for me. I was tempted to just stop listening to it, but held out to the end. The narrator either mispronounced words often or the editing of the book failed to catch some things. Overall I'm glad this book was under ten dollars and I didn't waste a whole credit on it.

Craving you

I liked the book a lot but omg there was so much crying it was nut 52 times someone was in tears that's crazy I really liked all the main characters a lot but come on I don't like I have cried that many times in twenty years it just get annoying after away. AMAZING! I loved Storm and Jameson story and struggles. Love how Michelle keeps the other characters storylines going while developing new ones. Can't wait for book 3

What can I say I loved Intoxicated by You the first book in this series but OMG Craving You was amazing!âïStorm & Jameson...what can I say I'm in love with these two men! There were so many ups and downs for them! âï Definitely keeps you on your toes. One thing that I really love in Michelle's books is her multiple story lines! On to Book 3.âï

A well written novel that kept me guessing until the end.

Oh My - I do love a great novel with well written multiple story lines. The plot kept me guessing until the very end. The bonds of love will be tested - will they become stronger or will they break? Is blood really thicker than water? How much would you be willing to sacrifice for love?

I love it and would recommend it to everyone I know!

I love it! "The You Series" is great so far I love it and I can't wait for the next book! The relationships between Storm and Jameson and Liam and Emily are so real and come to life so easily in these books. The author did a great job in her writing!

Didn't Catch Me

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Not Really. I spent the majority of the time waiting for something good to happen and trying not to scream because I hated the main character.

What could JL Merrow have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I didn't really feel that there was a strong connection between the leads. So, maybe if there was more connection that would've made it better for me.

Which character as performed by Mark Steadman was your favorite?

Sean was my favorite character.

Could you see Caught! being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes, but not as written.

I get where the author was going, but it just never really arrived for me.

Great story!

Very enjoyable book! Perfect mix of humour, storyline and sexiness. Narrator sounded a bit like he was reading from a faulty autocue on occasion but was otherwise very good and brought the characters to life.

This isn't the vacation I planned for.

Honestly, I was happy when James came up to the cabin unexpectedly. I'd been having a pretty boring vacation and somebody else around definitely kept things more interesting.

Of course, I wasn't expecting us to get snowed in together. But if you have to be locked in a cabin with another person, this is the guy to do with it. He's smart, funny, warm, and very cute. He seems a little hesitant to admit he likes me too, but that won't stop me from pursuing something with him.

I have the feeling that this is the start to something more. I know it's soon, but he really seems like the guy for me.

This standalone MM romance comes complete with HEA ending and bonus material from two of my other books!

Snowed in

I really like this author's stories, they are an automatic purchase for me. This story, like the others, is sweet and funny, with likeable characters. My problem with this one is the editing. The editing is very distracting. I have not noticed this in the previous books.. I hope this problem is corrected, because I look forward to new reads from this author. Even with the poor editing, I do recommend this sweet story.

This was a sweet simple and easy story. Not much angst or heartache which is nice to read once in a while. James was a bit down on himself at times but besides that this was just sweet and nice. i really enjoyed it and am glad i got to review it

Too cliched. Extremely predictive. Chapter 1 was cool then it really wasnt interesting. I fought to finish it. Boring and cero plot or character development.
