Majority of us are not aware that our feelings are a direct result of our thoughts. Dr BB has often mentioned in her podcast: Thoughts come from feelings, feelings come from beliefs, and beliefs are either learned or from personal experience.
When we are not aware of this knowledge, we tend to believe that our feelings are a result of extenal events, and we also believe that other people make us feel our feelings. When that happens, we blame others for our uncomfortable feelings, and we fail to take responsibility for our own thoughts that lead us to feeling what we feel.
Therefore, it is important to realise and understand that there has to be a thought before there can be a feeling.
