She completed her Ph.D. in Animal Science at Université Laval, with research focusing on the impact of mycotoxins on calcium and phosphorus metabolism in pigs. Dr. Sauvé also holds a Master's degree in Animal Sciences from Université Laval and a Bachelor's in Environmental Biology from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières.
