If you are a spouse of infidelity, your husband or wife has cheated on you and you are in a lot of pain. Anger, betrayal, sorrow, hurt, and confusion are just a few of the emotions swirling through your mind. Whether a business manager or stay at home, the trauma of infidelity affects people in similar ways.
The trauma of infidelity causes pain but it can also affect you in several other ways:
1. It can cause you to reevaluate whether to trust or mistrust your spouse and other people in your life.
2. You can have PTSD due to your marriage being threatened. Having dreams and mental images about the incident, intrusive thoughts, self-isolation, and other negatives impacts.
3. Depression is another result. You can have trouble sleeping, difficulty concentrating, and feel worthless.
4. Finally, your body can be affected as well. Weight gain, headaches, dizziness, stomaches, and hormone imbalance are just a few symptoms.
Your betrayal is real. Your trauma from the betrayal of your partner is very real. It is not just real personally but also real statistically. You’re not the same person before and after trauma. You have been impacted significantly. Infidelity can negatively affect your life physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially, and even in your relationships. If left unchecked, it can potentially destroy them.
You may have been negatively impacted but you’re responsible for your healing. Your husband or wife can’t heal you. Even if they never cheat again, you still have the wound of the trauma.
Your partner betrayal trauma is unique to you and your journey to heal will be unique as well. We have tests, three- and five-day intensives, phone counseling, phone groups, books, DVDs, and other resources to help you reclaim your life back. You can join our Facebook recovery groups as well:
