  • This Has Gone Way Too Far!

Following the food pyramid may have you unknowingly eating like a cow. Find out what to ditch and how to choose the right foods to fuel your body. Your body deserves real nutrition, not an animal diet designed to fatten cattle.

Today, we’re going to look at the average American diet and determine what may happen if you start eating like a cow. For the last 200 days of a cow’s life, it’s fed a high-starch diet and given minimal exercise.

According to the food pyramid, most of our diet should come from starch. The average American consumes 65% to 70% of their calories from starches. Starches are actually hidden sugars. In fact, ultra-processed starch is worse than sugar and will raise your blood sugar more than glucose.

There are 2 types of corn: field corn (dent corn) and edible sweet corn. Dent corn is used to fatten cattle and to make products such as ethanol, corn flour, modified food starch, modified corn starch, and maltodextrin. It’s also used to make corn oil, one of the seed oils.

Not only do the refined starches act like sugar in the body, but they’re also GMO. This means they contain traces of glyphosate.

The average American has been eating like a cow for quite some time. This is why we see obesity, fatty liver, heart disease, and more.

Cows are meant to digest grass, not grains. Grass is fermented with bacteria in a cow's stomach, and the fiber feeds its microbes. When a cow is fed grains, the microbes produce an excess amount of acid, causing acidosis. This can lead to infection and isn’t very healthy for the cow, so they’re fed antibiotics to compensate.

Stop eating like a cow! Avoid ultra-processed starch and choose grass-fed, grass-finished beef.

Hydration is not just about drinking more water. Find out more.

Check out Dr. Berg Electrolyte Powder here: 🛒https://drbrg.co/3A5MZwS OR http://bit.ly/3thAcUh

0:00 Introduction: The average amount of liquid consumed by Americans

1:10 What happens when you drink the wrong thing
2:25 The #1 mistake people make when drinking water
    3:30 Electrolyte ratios
4:13 Should you only drink when you’re thirsty?
6:47 How much fluid do you need?
    7:35 How to stay hydrated
    8:15 Learn more about water!

Are you drinking too much? Are you drinking too little? Today, we’re going to talk about fluids on keto and the biggest mistake people make when drinking water.

The average American consumes 4.3 cups of water. This is extremely low. Many people also drink other types of liquids, but many of these can damage your health.

Drinks with caffeine, sugar, and alcohol will actually worsen dehydration. The biggest mistake people make when it comes to fluids is thinking they are hydrated just because they are drinking a lot of liquids.

There has been a big push to get people to drink more without fixing the root cause of their dehydration—and this is another big mistake.

We have to consider the big picture, which includes electrolytes. Electrolytes like sodium, potassium, and magnesium are essential for hydration. But you have to have them in the correct amounts to be effective.

The average person who exercises will need two to three liters of water per day. But, to stay hydrated, you need to add sea salt and other electrolytes to your water. You could also add lemon or apple cider vinegar to your water for additional benefits.

0:00 Introduction: How to support your eyes

    0:10 Eye health explained
2:04 The most important nutrient for the eyes
    3:35 Carotenoids for the eyes
4:05 What to eat for healthy eyes
6:19 Learn more about the best ways to support the eyes!

Today I want to cover the best foods for the eyes. Your eyes are highly complex, and it's important to support them to help avoid vision problems and other issues.

The most important nutrient for the eyes is DHA, which is an omega-3 fatty acid.

DHA has many important functions and protects against macular degeneration and inflammation. It also inhibits the formation of extra blood vessels in the eyes that could affect vision. DHA is destroyed by blue light, UV light, and omega-6 fatty acids.

Carotenoids are also very protective for the eyes, specifically lutein, zeaxanthin, and meso-zeaxanthin.

The best foods to support the eyes:

    • Oily cold-water fish (bluefin tuna, salmon, herring, cod liver, cod liver oil, oysters, and sardines)
    • Grass-fed beef
    • Pasture-raised, organic egg yolks
    • Walnuts
    • Chia seeds
    • Flax seeds
    • Dark leafy green vegetables
    • Shrimp

It's also crucial to avoid omega-6 fatty acids and sugar to support healthy eyes.

    6:05 Candida symptoms
    6:30 Dysbiosis and colon cancer
7:03 How to get rid of candida and candida prevention
10:23 Learn more about natural antibiotics!

Today we’re going to talk about the best remedies for candida.

A good portion of the microbes in your gut are fungi, and candida is one type of fungi. Friendly fungi support the body in many different ways.

It’s not until we change the environment that our friendly bacteria and fungi live in that they can become a problem. For example, one of the biggest side effects of antibiotics is candida overgrowth.

If the ratio of candida to bacteria is incorrect, this can lead to health issues. But bacteria release certain things to help keep candida in check.

If candida does turn unfriendly, you need to know what you can do. One important thing to remember to support a healthy microbiome is to take probiotics if you have to take antibiotics.

    The best candida home remedies:

    1. Take a probiotic and consume probiotic foods
    2. Avoid sugar and dairy
    3. Avoid carbs (do Healthy Keto®)
    4. Avoid sugar alcohols
    5. Consume capric acid (coconut oil or MCT oil)
    6. Consume vegetable fiber
    7. Consume natural herbal antibiotics (garlic, oregano oil, thyme, sage, or turmeric)

Fecal microbiota transplantation has been found to be effective for certain conditions, including:

    • C. diff
    • Irritable bowel syndrome
    • Autism
    • MS
    • Rheumatoid arthritis
    • Parkinson’s disease
    • Chronic fatigue syndrome
    • Acne
    • Depression

Fecal microbiota transplantation may also help decrease the risk of cancer and has been found to be superior to antibiotics.

Fecal transplant has been around for many years. However, if we had a better relationship with our microbes, we may not even need this therapy. The more we sterilize our environment, the more we’re going to need this therapy.

Things to avoid to support your microbiome:

    • Drugs
    • Chemicals
    • Pesticides
    • Herbicides
    • Antibiotics
    • Milk products
    • Canned products
    • Juices
    • Radiated foods

The best ways to support your gut microbiome:

    1. Consume a wide variety of plant foods
    2. Consume fermented products
    3. Lower your stress
    4. Do fasting
    5. Exercise
    6. Take a colostrum supplement (consider breastfeeding for newborns)
    7. Take a probiotic

0:10 The worst way to stretch
0:50 Understanding tight muscles and stretching
2:00 The correct way to stretch

Let’s talk about how to relieve muscle stiffness and increase your range of motion.

Many of us have been taught to stretch by holding a position for 30 to 60 seconds—this is called static stretching. But this is the worst way to stretch your muscles.

Tight muscles are weaker and are more susceptible to injury and inflammation. When you stretch incorrectly, you can easily strain or pull a muscle.

Motion is all about the coordination of contraction and relaxation of the muscles. One of the best ways to stretch is a method from a book called The Whartons’ Complete Strength Book, and it’s called Active Isolated Flexibility.

How to stretch correctly (using Active Isolated Flexibility):

    1. Identify the muscle you want to stretch
    2. Contract or tighten the opposite muscle as you stretch
    3. Stretch to a comfortable limit and hold for two seconds and then relax

Repeat this method of stretching eight to ten times per muscle. This would be a great warm-up before you exercise. You may also want to consider a version of this as part of the rehab process for a less severe injury.

1:19 Broccoli sprouts vs. broccoli microgreens
3:55 Benefits of sprouts and microgreens
    7:10 Nutrition in microgreens
    8:06 Learn more about sulforaphane!

Let's talk about sulforaphane. There are a lot of interesting health benefits of sulforaphane.

Sulforaphane is a phytonutrient that has been studied extensively. You can get sulforaphane from many different plants, but the best source of sulforaphane is broccoli sprouts or broccoli microgreens.

Broccoli sprouts or broccoli microgreens have 10 to 100 times more sulforaphane than broccoli. The majority of nutrients in plants, especially phytonutrients, are in the early stages of growth. Sprouts and microgreens also have much fewer anti-nutrients, which can irritate the gut.

Sprouts and microgreens are incredibly nutritious and are great choices if you have a hard time consuming large amounts of vegetables. You can consume fewer of them to get a good amount of nutrients and phytonutrients.

Potential benefits of microgreens and sprouts (sulforaphane):

    1. May help prevent chronic disease
    2. Has potent anti-inflammatory effects
    3. May have anticancer effects
    4. May help inhibit carcinogens
    5. Has potent antimicrobial effects
    6. Has powerful blood sugar effects
    7. May be beneficial in preventing heart disease
    8. Has been studied for autism
    9. Has anti-aging effects
    10. Helps support the brain
