This bacterium causes a severe and sometimes fatal systemic infection in the very young, older frail individuals, and those with weakened immune systems. Listeria can also trigger miscarriages and stillbirths. The recall involves salads and meals made with bowtie pasta supplied by Fresh Creative Foods, which used a tainted ingredient manufactured by Nate’s Fine Foods of Roseville, California.
These recalled bowtie pasta products were sold under multiple store brands at Albertsons, Albertsons Market, Amigos, Andronico’s Community Markets, Carrs-Safeway, Eagle, Pak ’N Save, Pavilions, Market Street, Randalls, Safeway, Tom Thumb, United, and Vons locations across Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Louisiana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.
Avoid eating these recalled products and return them to any participating store for a full refund. Clean and sanitize any containers or surfaces that may have come in contact with the recalled food to prevent cross-contamination.
