Do you worship your dentist or your car mechanic and try to be just like them? I don't think so. Let's take a look at why you study with someone usually a spiritual person and you turn them into some kind of god or goddess in your life. What's really going on?

With so much information available these days lots of people have turned to the self-help movement. What is it and what are the benefits of it and what are some of the limitations?

The previous podcast talks about how being a co-dependent adversely affects others as well as yourself. Many codependents will not take on healing because after all it's just about them and they don't matter .....that's the thinking of a co-dependent. So by looking at the evil side of codependency and the harm it can cause other sometimes that helps people to get into recovered. No doubt some people will take that podcast is victim shaming and blaming. So to balance that out this is about the pain the internal pain a co-dependent experiences before waking up and starting to get into recovery.

It's estimated there are five to seven thousand cults in North America at this time. Yikes. Why do people join an organization that looks good and seems to provide answers to life and life's problems.... and then stick with it as it turns into a cult or maybe it was from the beginning but it just didn't look like it.
