In this first English episode of MeltingPod we are happy to welcome Dr. Rose Jaji (IDOS-Institute) to talk about gender and migration in the context of the global south. Rose tells us about the relation between gender fluidity and sex in Zimbabwe, about how gender roles changed with the colonial oppression and how migration nowadays is shifting gender and power relations once again. We also learn about reflexive ethnography and how we can be more sensitive as scientists in terms of inter- and intracultural aspects of the research we conduct and our positioning in the research process.
