🎙️ Guest Spotlight: Dr. Carla M. Davis
Dr. Carla Davis is a dedicated pediatrician and allergist-immunologist who founded the Family Faith Health Clinic to provide holistic healthcare coupled with spiritual care to uninsured communities in the inner city of Houston, Texas.
Collaborating with an interventional cardiologist, an internal medicine physician, and a gynecologist, she brings family-centered healthcare to under-resourced families.
Dr. Davis serves as the Director of the Division of Immunology, Allergy, and Retrovirology, and as a Professor of Pediatrics and Immunology & Microbiology at Baylor College of Medicine. She also holds the Janie and Sandra Queen Endowed Chair in Immunology and HIV/AIDS. Throughout her career, she has focused on preventing and treating allergic and immunologic diseases while addressing health disparities.
Her academic journey includes an undergraduate degree from Howard University, a medical degree from Duke University, and a pediatrics residency at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Following her fellowship in allergy and immunology at Baylor College of Medicine, she joined the faculty and has remained there for over two decades.
Dr. Davis's accolades include the Norton Rose Fulbright LLP Faculty Excellence Award, the Texas Medical Association Academic Excellence Gold Award, and recognition as a Top Doctor by Texas Monthly Magazine. She has also been honored as a Doctor of Excellence by the Board of Leaders of Healthcare Providers of Excellence. She has been nominated as one of "America’s Best Physicians" by the National Consumer Advisory Board.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Davis is passionate about community education and diversity initiatives. She is a role model and mentor, helping others balance work and family life. Her mission is to improve the quality of life for children through advancements in medical diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Davis is an active Friendship Community Bible Church member and serves on the Board of Directors of The Impact Movement ministry.
