Jen Anderson, founder of "Thankful Hearts Couching," explains to us that we teach people how to treat us every day, even if we are not aware of this. Anderson says that we need to learn to make conscious "boundary-setting decisions" as an outward expression of our own worthiness and inherent value. She further explains that many of us have developed limiting beliefs during childhood that have derailed this feeling of inherent value, but we can overcome this and come out even stronger. Setting boundaries is a skillset which can be learned and mastered with practice, just like anything else. Anderson reminds us that we can step back into our power when we shift our focus inward, stating that "beliefs + boundaries = bliss."
