This week’s car belongs to Diehl Brothers Racing. The New Edge Mustang is a follow-up to their mid 8-second SN95 car. This new car has a full 25.3 cage, gigantic turbo, and is set to go deep into the 7s. The guys have built this car in 3 months in the Autodynamix shop. It’s a stock firewall and floor pan car so it fits in the Super Street category. The car didn’t have a roof until Feb 4th, you know last Saturday…

They fired the car for the first time on January 31st at 1am.

The car was on the dyno 4 days ago, but they wouldn’t give up any numbers, except when they replied to Clark Rosenstengel “we only run our stuff to 1k ish on the dyno then do the rest at the track.”

I don’t have engine details yet but I do know it has a huge Garrett GT55 Turbo parked in the grill, which runs through a water to air intercooler, Holley HighRam intake and what can be expected as a big cubic inch LS engine. John Capizzi built the trans, but I can not find the details of which trans was chosen.

I know I don’t know much about this car but the Diehl’s are one of my first stops once I arrive at the track on Monday morning!

The Drag-N-Drive Show Episode 8

We talk about my experience on Drag Illustrated's The Wes Buck Show!! It was really awesome to be called the DI Drag and Drive Insider by the guys that are leading the drive for drag racing. Wes' team is on fire right now and I was part of the 289th episode of the weekly Live Stream. 

Our first guests are bolts&nuts.com founder Andy Graham, with his friend Jimmy Muntain. They were on to discuss the upcoming drag-n-drive bolt and nut kit that'll be available soon. If you'd like to provide input into the contents of the kit, please message those guys on FB or IG.

Next up was Redhat Scotty! He attended the Racer Round-up in Kansas City about the new drag strip that is opening there, hopefully by the end of the year! It sounds like this is a go from the conversation from that night. The guy behind it all said this will be one of the nicest facilities in the country. More details to come. 

Derek Putnam, announcer of Sick Week 2023, tells a little history of his announcing career and we talk about the upcoming event. 

Once Derek's interview was done, we added Adam Dorey to the mix! Adam is "The Voice" of Rocky Mountain Race Week and Sick Week 2022. He is back for this year and is ready to go!!

After a few stories with the announcers, we brought everyone back on for stories from the road. Lots of carnage stories, what we think is going to happen to the drag and drive community and why we all love the people that compete in these events!
