The writer of Hebrews reminds us of those who have gone before us, and how they all pleased God because of their faith.

Abel had a better sacrifice. Enoch was taken up and did not taste death, because of his faith.

By Faith Noah believe what he had not seen and became an heir of the righteousness because of his faith.

Abraham, by faith, obeyed by going out to a place, not knowing where he was going, but he believed.

Sarah, by faith, believed she'd conceive a child, beyond child bearing age.

Joseph, Moses, Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, they all pleased God, because of their faith.

Let's have faith today. Faith in God's word.

The writer of Hebrews tells us that we have a bette covenant in Christ Jesus.

He is our High Priest forever. He died that we might have our sins covered forever.

He has written His laws in our hearts and minds.

He will no longer remember out sins.

We are now able to go to the throne of grace, no more outer sanctuary.

His sanctuary wasn't built with hands, but existing since the foundations of time.

Finally, for us who await His coming, there will be no reference to any of our past sins.

We are warned about those who fall away, having heard the teaching of Christ.

But we, as believers, have better things, because of our salvation in Him. Jesus is our forerunner, He anchors our soul.

The book of Hebrews shows us God's final word in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus sits on the right hand of God The Father, becoming much better than the angels.

He was made, for a little while, a little lower than the angels.

Jesus was tempted and suffered for us, therefore He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

He is our high priest. He is our boast until the end.

The day we hear His voice, we should never harden our hearts, as to provoke the Lord thy God.

Paul encourages his followers to be faithful through persecutions and afflictions.

Knowing that those who afflicted will be afflicted by the Lord.

They will be eternally separated from God.

We are not to be quickly shaken by a deceiving spirit, message, or letter telling us that the day of the Lord has come.

The ministry of Lawlessness is already at work, but we have the truth to guide and warn us of these false messengers.

Those not believing the truth will be under a deluding influence, so that they will not believe the truth.

Finally, Paul tells us that we are to continue to spread the gospel as rapidly as we can and to glorify the Lord always.

When we think everything is okay, they will be saying peace and safety, the Bible says then shall the end come.

We are not in darkness, so that no one can fool us, like a thief in the night, we are sons of the light.

Those who are asleep will live forever with Christ.

Paul says, we are to encourage one another with this assurance.

He says we are also suppose to admonish the unruly, but encourage the faint hearted. Never repay evil for evil.

Finally, listen and examine everything carefully, when it comes to those who are professing the word of God.

Paul is encouraging the church by sending Timothy to the church, that they were warned that there would be suffering and affliction for spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.

He was glad to hear that there were faithful followers and that their testimony was going forth and that it encouraged them to hear such good news.

Paul thought they might have fallen from faith, but he let them know he would continue to pray for their strength in the Lord.

He warned them to flee from sexual immorality, and that no one transgress or default his brother.

Finally, he reassured them that those who had died in Christ would not be left out, but that they would raise first, when the Lord return to receive the church. These were comforting words.

Paul is giving thanks for those who have walked away from their idolatry and sinful lives.

He tells them they are witnesses before God and the people, so they must make sure there is nothing that can be said about them and blameless.

He is glad they have become imitators of him, even with the trials and tribulations they faced.

Their reputation was preceding them in all their good works, they didn't have to say a word, they had turned from idols to God.

Paul told them they were his joy and glory.

Paul is writing to Titus with instructions on a few things;

The qualifications of an Elder, the duties of young and old believers.

He goes on to instruct on how to live a Godly life. These are his concerns for the church, not unlike what we are required to do today.

Being of sober mind, husband and wife relationship, learning to discreet and to love our children.

We are to be of sound speech, not liars. We are to be zealous of good works.
