When our Emotional Guidance System is presenting us with a "negative" emotion, how often do we then get in our minds and become upset about the feeling that is coming up? In other words, do you ever feel angry with yourself that you are angry, or sad that you're sad, or fearful about your fear?
Sometimes we sort of tell stories with our mind that make it all seem like a bigger deal than it has to be. We dramatize it, or ruminate on it, when our bodies could actually do a great job of just feeling the original emotion and letting the feeling play out to bring us back into alignment. We're not "wrong" when we do this, but it is something we can learn to catch. We can cultivate the ability of not reacting to or denying the feelings that come up, and watch as they just play out and reintegrate with our wholeness.
