  • Order Up! Talking #WorkplaceNow and the Restaurant Industry on #DTHR
If there’s one industry that most people in the US have worked in at one stage it’s the restaurant industry; millions of people have flipped burgers or worked a cash register or slung food and drinks to thirsty/hungry patrons. For many people, the restaurant industry served as their first exposure to the world of work; good, bad or indifferent.
Joining us this week at the Drive Thru will be Jamie Griffin, founder of Good Workforce, and a Restaurant Chain Consultant and Executive who has worked across the spectrum of the restaurant industry; he’s partnered with Founders and he’s partnered with front line staff. He’s been involved as restaurant chains have gone through major transformation and he’s helped them scale at a tremendous pace.
Make sure to listen in – and we’ll see if we can pry that recipe for Cane’s Sauce from Jamie! (our guess is “no”......)

  • Creating a New Normal – Keeping Everyone Accountable at Work @Warbleinc
Warble was created by Carolyn Holliday, Founder after personally experiencing the pain of a bad boss.  She didn't believe she could turn to HR or higher level executives to help her.  She was faced with two options: 1.  She could continue to suffer and incur obstruction and targeting while my boss now attempted to dismantle my reputation, or 2. She could walk away taking her self-respect, experience, and reputation with her.
She chose option 2.  This was the inspiration for Warble.
Warble is designed to help companies identify people problems before they negatively impact corporate culture and revenues.
This week our guest from Warble will be Jerry Moyer, who joined Warble, Inc in January 2018 to help deliver on its mission - helping companies identify people problems before they negatively impact corporate culture and revenues.
Through Warble’s web-based service, employees around the US can give anonymous feedback about co-workers or leaders who are exhibiting harmful or disruptive behavior that is impacting culture, productivity, or employee well-being.  We will be asking Jerry to talk to us about:
The Warble Founder's StoryWhat is Warble? How does Warble work?Who uses Warble? How does a company know they got a Warble, and what usually happens? Any weird Warble stories to share?

  • Rev it Up!! An HR Day in the Life at @RevZilla - #DTHR
RevZilla, headquartered in Philadelphia, is an e-commerce organization dedicated to motorcycles and the riders who love them. They carry the gear, provide information and have created a community of fanatical customers.  (side note from Robin: I’ve been fortunate to visit the offices on several occasions; it’s pretty much as cool – dare I say sexy – as it sounds). ***
The leader on the human resources side of things is Talia Edmundson, Director of HR, and she’ll be joining us on this week’s #DoTheWork episode of Drive thru HR. We’ll go where the conversation takes us around “a day in the life” of this fast growing company, the nifty things RevZilla is doing in the community, organizational culture (“what’s an intentional approach?”) and why, for 5 years in a row, RevZilla has been recognized as a Top Workplace in Philadelphia.
*** they are also located right down the road from the Tastykake factory and the air smells delicious!

  • The Non-Obvious Guide to Employee Engagement - #HRBooks - #DTHR
In the realm of topics that just won’t go away there is “employee engagement;” we continue to talk, discuss and debate.  Is there anything “new” to say? Our guests this week, Jamie Notter and Maddie Grant, think there is!
Join Mike and Robin as they chat with Jamie and Maddie (from Human Workplaces) as we discuss:
Why culture is more important than engagement and what the relationship is between the two.
How to define employee engagement in a way that connects directly to what makes both your organization and your employees more successful.
Why engagement surveys are so flawed and how to dig into your culture to go beyond “symptom” metrics.
Why do we persist with the generational stereotypes? (OK – that’s Robin’s question/hot point!)
Jamie and Maddie are authors of The Non-Obvious Guide To Employee Engagement (For Millennials, Boomers And Everyone Else)(available now for pre-order).
