This week on the Driven Chat Podcast, John Marcar is joined by fellow podcaster and old friend Sam Moores. Sam is known by many as a photographer and a YouTuber but is perhaps equally famous as the owner of a world-renowned Blue Ferrari F40.
John and Sam first met whilst working on the production and media side of Gumball 3000, travelling the world together on the Gumball 3000 Rally. In this week's podcast, Sam and John share some of their stories of the adventure that is Gumball and pull apart various topics of conversation in and around the automotive world.
This episode is our longest podcast to date and features more tangents and tales than most senior care home recreation rooms. You will love this episode if alarmingly in-depth geeky car chat is your thing.

It isn’t very often you get the chance to sit down with a best in the world award winner in any field, let alone two; however, this week, John Marcar sits down with Ferrari’s best Sales Executive and best technician… and when we say the best - we mean the best - the best in the world!
Jardine Colchester Ferrari has the almost unheard of accolade with two Testa Rossa award winners on the payroll. Rob Cole has been a top sales executive with Ferrari every year since 2018 and scooped the top prize as the top sales executive in the world in 2021. Chris Mahon started as an apprentice with Colchester Ferrari, aged just 16. He has developed an unrivalled passion and commitment to the brand, ultimately leading him to the Testa Rossa Award for the best technician in the world.
John sits down with Chris and Rob on a day the dealership celebrates its beautiful refurbished showroom to discover what it takes to be the best in the world for such a prestigious brand like Ferrari. We also discuss the sublime and the ridiculous on both sides of sales and technician work with some great stories of spec choices and servicing challenges.

Imagine turning up to a race track and being given a chance to drive a selection of amazing cars such as a McLaren 720S, a Porsche Cayman GT4 and a BMW M2 Racing Car with no concern about expensive things like fuel consumption and tyre wear. DTO Motorsport is a company that offers a selection of packages that do just that, and recently, John Marcar was invited to Donington Park to experience a DTO Motorsport Day.
In this week's episode, John sits down with the company's CEO and founder Mike Jordan as he explains how he transitioned from the corporate world with brands like AMEX to producing what is arguably the most desirable driving days on the market today.
Mike shares his passion through this conversation with a simple desire to do things right and fill a gap in the market for people that really want to get the best out of a selection of cars and improve their driving ability.

In this special episode, John brings you content from the 2022 Goodwood Members Meeting thanks to Bonhams Auctioneers and talks to the head of European Auctions - Paul Darvill, as he explores the Bonhams Marquee ahead of the weekend.
Before diving in with Paul, though, John catches up with Andy Jaye and Amy Shore in the studio to reflect on the first 100 episodes giving special thanks to our amazing Driven Chat Production Team and you, our amazing listeners.
At Goodwood, John also caught up with friends of the show Adam Gompertz and Jonny Ambrose of Auto Artists For Ukraine Fame, who had a pop-up shop at the event and offered an update on their charitable takings so far.
Whilst exploring the motorsport paddock, John bumped into a friend of the show Drew Pritchard who was racing at the event in his glorious little VW Beetle, and the two had a chat whilst sitting in the car!
We return to the Bonhams Marquee for the closing segment of the podcast with Paul Darvill, who updates us on the sale prices that were achieved in the auction and reveals some of the logistical challenges of what comes next after such a big sale.

Every podcast we record is noteworthy for its own reason, but every so often, we hit the record button and what follows is something extra-extra special. This week's Driven Chat Podcast is absolutely definitely 'extra-extra special.
Elspeth Beard and Jacqui Furneaux have both embarked on international adventures on two wheels. Elspeth circumnavigated the world as a young 23-year-old on her BMW, crossing continents, exploring unknown territories and facing multiple challenges along the way. Jacqui didn't embark on her journey until a little later in life, however, the adventure was ambitious for many different reasons. Jacqui purchased a Royal Enfield motorcycle in India and rode it home, back to the UK.
In this conversation hosted by John Marcar and Amy Shore, we take a deep dive into the brains and ambition of two frankly inspiring individuals. Both Elspeth and Jacqui share details of the good, the bad and the ugly of their travels and explain how their outlook on life transformed following the adventures.
If you would like to learn more and read more about both Elspeth and Jacqui's adventures, you can do so by purchasing their books on their websites:

We do love a Lotus launch! We were present for the launch of the Lotus Emira in 2021 and were delighted to be welcomed back by Lotus for the launch of their latest car, the Eletre.
The Lotus Eletre is Lotus' first-ever SUV model, and they have gone in with a bang! The Eletra is a Hyper-SUV promising super-fast charging and performance capabilities, including a 0-60mph launch in under 3 seconds.
Just like at the Emira launch, our in-house broadcaster Andy Jaye was there to present the car to the world alongside Julia Hardy from the iconic BBC Television Centre in London. In this episode of the podcast you will be guided around the launch by John Marcar and you will hear from;
Presenters - Andy Jaye & Julia Hardy
Designers - Ben Payne & Peter Horbury
Lotus MD - Matt Windle
Lotus Advanced Performance Director - Simon Lane*
Lotus PR Director - James Andrew
Journalists - Alex Goy & Richard Porter (with a cameo appearance from Gareth Jones)
Influencer - Becky Evans & Lotus Elise namesake Elisa Artioli
*CORRECTION - Simon Lane is incorrectly introduced as 'James' in John's intro. (Sorry Simon!)

This week's podcast is a collection of conversations recorded at The Classic Car & Restoration Show at the NEC. These interviews were originally recorded for our radio show; however, we've decided to include them here on the podcast for your listening pleasure too.
First up, we talk to Charlotte Vowden, a writer and journalist who has transitioned into the world of automotive thanks to her wonderful MG MGA classic car left to her by her late grandfather. Charlotte shares a brief overview of her journey and talks about the significance of classic cars to her.
Following Charlotte, Amy and John talk to Car SOS host, Fuzz Townshend. Fuzz offers his view on all cars one-day being classics (yep, even the boring ones!) and shares his passion for the industry.
We then are joined individually by three more good friends of the show. Marc 'Elvis' Priestley, Mike Brewer and Ant Anstead. The three Wheeler Dealers stars offer their own stories and reasoning behind what makes the classic car industry special, with a good few laughs and anecdotes along the way.

Have you ever wanted to hear about the inner workings of an inventor?? This week we're still at Baffle Haus, but this time, we're talking to a man that has invented something to keep our bikes out of the hands of thieves. Neil Barron is an award-winning inventor who has worked with and for brands such as Guinness, Fender Guitars, Lego Futura, Thermos and Boots.
Neil is now working on an essential piece of hardware to keep our beloved pushbikes and motorbikes safe from anyone that might want to steal them. The product is called LiteLok, and as you might suspect, it's a lock, and it's light! This chat is far more than just a conversation about bike locks; it's a deep dive into what makes an inventor tick and what has inspired Neil to come up with some of the award-winning designs and products he has to his name.
