This week I am pleased to welcome my guest, pedal steel player, Umphrey's McGee collaborator and ringleader of many bands, Mike Racky.

Mike and I talk about a whole bunch of topics like:

*  His family and how the records that he listened to as a kid were so big in cultivating his interested in the pedal steel.

*The bands that he’s in, The Tractor Kings, The Morning Sides, Steel Your Face, Fate Nite, Handsome Man’s Gentlemen’s Club, what they’ve been up to during the pandemic, what they have coming up and their (in my opinion world record breaking) handsome across America NY 2020 celebration where they played each NYE/ midnight celebration for each time zone.

* What musicians inspire him

* What he never leaves home for tour without

* His recent appearance on the Jambase “ClusterFlies” compilation which featured the Phish track “Twist” reimagined by Brendan Bayliss (available now on all music streaming platforms)

* How he became friends with Bayliss and shares a crazy “Hard Days Night” type story

* The first time he played on stage with the band and the first time he played on stage with them at Summer Camp Music Festival back in 2008.

* 2020 as a whole for his as a musician

* Wine Not

* The Brendan and Jake aka Shitty Limo Christmas show – and whole bunch more!
