This week on the podcast, Dr. Kim speaks with Alia Preston, a mom of four, who openly shares her story of her two-year-old daughter’s drowning. Her family was visiting in-laws over spring break and one day when she was out shopping, she received a phone call from her husband that their toddler daughter fell into the pool and had no heartbeat. Alia shares her miraculous story of how her daughter was rushed to the hospital and had no pulse for over 20 minutes, spent 6 days in a medically induced coma undergoing multiple screenings to see if she had brain damage and waiting for the fluid in her lungs to cleared, and 9 days total in the ICU. May is National Water Safety Awareness Month, so please listen to Alia’s full story of her experience and how she hopes this episode will encourage parents to be mindful of water safety and help save a child’s life!
