It’s a very special episode this week as the guys chat to one of Ben’s drumming idols; Guy Davis from Reuben. For those who don’t know, Reuben are an incredible band from the 00s and their debut album ‘Racecar Is Racecar Backwards’ is one of Ben’s favourite albums of all time. Seriously, go listen to it. They chat about what Guy has been up to since his latest project Freeze The Atlantic ended in 2018, joining Reuben, the making of Racecar Is Racecar Backwards, signing to Xtra Mile, touring, favourite gigs, his love for Sonor kits and how he felt when Reuben came to an end in 2008. Enjoy!

Today we welcome onto the show Si Lawrence. Si is the drummer for London based Strange Planes. Ben and Si got to know each other when Strange Planes supported Oxygen Thief on a few tours back in the day. There’s plenty of laughs to be had as the guys chat bands, shit gigs, a trip to Newcastle for an audition, convincing bass players not to go to uni, in band fighting and selling his DW kit for peanuts. It also turns out that not only does Si live in a real 'drum dumpster', he used to be an ungrateful little sh*t at Christmas. Enjoy!

Ben had a loooooong day gigging in Wales and there’s some big chat about drumming shoes. The boys both gig on the Isle Of Wight on the same day as Kasabian and one of them arrives at the ferry port heading home with what can only be described as too much cheese. George is cursed when going to Centre Parcs and how do you pass the time at gigs? Ben explains the game of P’asson and his trip to Sandown Pier to play crazy golf. Enjoy!

This week on the show there’s some listener correspondence, ‘the internet’s bride’, getting your band name on your kick skin, George’s busy week gigging and recording at a different studio (such a traitor) and his new self help book ‘Beyond The Charts’. There’s also a couple of tube stories from Ben (one is disgusting), Tom Of The Week and a little trip to the Drum Dumpster for some 3D printed cymbal toppers. Enjoy!

How many packets of crisps is it acceptable to take from a gig? The boys also chat about playing live to a click, George saying goodbye to Pompey and his first gig with his new wedding band, getting to gigs with no sat-nav and a drum stool incident that left George with smoke blowing up his arse. Enjoy!

The big 3-0! Ben and George are back with another episode of your second favourite drumming podcast. The guys chat about school grades and A-level maths (completed it, mate), summer gigs, depping for original bands, ELF bars, a pub gig with sub-optimal musicians, bad deps, plus Tom Of The Week is back and Ben’s popped a custom Marvel themed kit of his dreams in the Drum Dumpster. Welcome to a new episode of Drum and Drummer. The lads caught up with Bastille drummer Chris ‘Woody’ Wood half way through their North American tour in support of their number 1 album ‘Give Me The Future’. Their chat includes touring, festivals, meeting Dan and forming Bastille, his extensive kit set up, playing drums at school, learning his craft, alternative career path, touring away from family and there’s some funny stories from Bastille’s tour with Muse and Incubus. Plus, who is Woody’s favourite delivery company? Enjoy!

This week we welcome our first international guest onto the show! We had the absolute pleasure of talking to drummer and author S.W. Lauden about his latest book ‘Forbidden Beat: Perspectives On Punk Drumming’. Steve joins us from sunny Los Angeles as we chat about his book, what inspired him to write it, the evolution of punk drumming from the 70s through to modern pop-punk and the infamous D-Beat. Steve has also had a great career as a drummer from humble beginnings to recording in the same studio Led Zeppelin did with his band TSAR at the peak of the 00s LA power-pop scene. Enjoy!

Hello! This week Ben and George are joined by the delightfully charming Curtis Aaron. Curtis has taken his drumming skills abroad and on the high seas as a veteran of the cruise ship game. In fact, he was on a cruise ship when Covid came along. The chat got silly at several points but we did manage to find out about his great career thus far. As well as being a handsome chap and a top drummer, he’s also a songwriter and is working on his own original music. Hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did making it!

The bald headed boys are back for some more belting banter. George has had a little holiday and got verbally attacked by a comedian and it’s Ben’s birthday week. What’s it like when your gig finishes early? That was the case for both guys last weekend. You pack up and GET OUT! You may have torpedoed your own wedding but we’re grateful to be home early. Within one day of being on Twitter the lads have been blocked by one of the big boys of drum sticks plus there’s Tom Of The Week and some ‘soul’ in the Drum Dumpster. Enjoy!
