To open October, we tackle Alexander Chee's HOW TO WRITE AN AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL NOVEL, a collection of essays covering a large chunk of his life. We're particularly drunk for this one, but think it made us all the more insightful.

This week's episode we cover another New Yorker story, "I Walk Between the Rain Drops by T.C. Boyle. We discuss what we think of stories told in vignettes, "listening" to stories, and probably some other shit we can't remember right now.

What we thought was going to be a book about shoes turned out to be a book about revolution. Caleb invites his brother Jacob onto the podcast to discuss "One Gram Short" by Etgar Keret. This story follows a young man who wants to impress a girl who works at a café, but is too anxious to ask her out, so he sets forth to find a little bit of weed. Caleb and Jacob share their own pot stories, as well as a time they went a little too hard for a girl they didn't know that well.

The crew gets together to chat about A PLACE OF TIMELESS HARMONY aka SAFARI RESET by Curt Eriksen, winner of the 2016 Clay Reynolds novella prize through Texas Review Press. This is the first novella we've discussed on the show, and it seems like both of us had pretty positive reactions.
