It's time for Marty's Mailbag! Every week on the DSPN, host Martin Devlin and young producer Lachlan Waugh work through comments from viewers and listeners on the YouTube, Spotify and social channels, and discuss/answer/applaud/criticise them as best they can.
This week, the boys tackle angry South African rugby fans, questionable NRL jerseys, and Lachlan's new nickname that may make the audience... uncomfortable.

Bob dissects the form of both teams heading in, the innovation of South African coach Rassie Erasmus, the pivotal role of players like Handre Pollard, and the fierce loose forward battle featuring Ardie Savea and Pieter-Steph du Toit. Despite his loyalty to the Springboks, Bobby admits the All Blacks might have the edge - but hopes his team can snatch a tight victory.

Former Warriors coach Tony Kemp joins Martin Devlin to break down the Warriors’ recent defeat to the Parramatta Eels, and what it means for their push towards the NRL finals. Kempy highlights how Mitchell Moses’ kicking game proved decisive for the Eels, while stressing the Warriors must dominate through the middle if they want to compete with powerhouses like Penrith and Canberra come finals time. Kempy says coaching will ultimately decide this year’s premiership, with Ivan Cleary, Craig Bellamy, and Ricky Stuart looming large. While not convinced the Warriors have three finals wins in them, he believes they can produce at least one big performance - provided they beat Manly this coming weekend and take confidence into the postseason.

Former All Blacks captain and rugby legend Sean Fitzpatrick joins Martin Devlin on the DSPN, to reflect on one of the greatest All Blacks achievements - the historic test series win in South Africa in 1996. Fitzpatrick recalls the bonds formed on that tour, the emotional final whistle in Pretoria, and the pride in achieving something generations of All Blacks had chased since 1921. He shares memories of legends like Zinzan Brooke, Christian Cullen, and coach John Hart, while also assessing today’s side under Scott Robertson. Fitzpatrick believes the All Blacks are building well, but stresses the expectation to win every test remains central to New Zealand rugby’s identity.

On the DSPN today, host Martin Devlin delivers a sermon predicting All Blacks selections for the first test against the Springboks at Eden Park. While it feels logical to make changes to the matchday 23 after that loss to Argentina nearly two weeks ago, Marty doesn't think coach Scott Robertson will swing the axe.
Then, Marty and young producer Lachlan Waugh play a game of Glass Half Full, where they work through the likely All Blacks team named and offer their thoughts. Marty expects conservatism, while Lachie wants harsher consequences for bad performances.
