When it comes to the virginity of Mary the most problematic aspect of that belief comes when the Church tells us that she was always a virgin, even after Jesus was born. A lot of this comes from our "modern" ideas about sexuality and misunderstanding about the ancient world and how relatives in families beyond immediate members could be called "brothers" or "sisters".

What does the Immaculate Conception mean? Does it mean that Mary did not need a Savior or is it merely pointing out a very unique way in which Mary was saved by God to fulfill her destiny as Mother of God Incarnate?
