DTVC Podcast

In this episode I'm joined once again by Chris "The Brain" Kacvinsky from Bulletproof Action, and this time we're featuring Jeff Wincott, Cynthia Rothrock, and Evan Lurie in the 90s classic "Martial Law II". Before that though, we pay tribute to the late Wings Hauser, who left us hours before we recorded the episode. Then with the film, we get into Wincott and his great duster and Jeep with no doors; Rothrock having to beat up guys who attack her with a Club; and then Evan Lurie and John Sears from 90210 as our baddies, and what their criminal enterprise actually is.

You can find Chris and Bulletproof Action at bulletproofaction.com, and the Bulletproof Action podcast on most major podcatchers.

"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode I look at the Sony Spider-Verse without Spider-Man. In the first half I look at how this even came to be, and then the first two Venom films and the infamous Morbius. And then in the second half, we keep getting infamous with Madame Web, before we transition into the last Venom film, and finally Kraven, after which I deliver the postmortem, or look at where this whole thing goes from here if it's not dead.

Ty from Comeuppance Reviews is back for his monthly spot on the pod, this time it's another Willis flick in "Fortress: Sniper's Eye", a bit of a slog with Chad Michael Murray sans vest from the first film; and "Last Kumite", a fun film that brings us back to 90s punchfighters. Finally, our spotlight on a fight looks at the fight between Jeff Speakman and William Shatner at the end of "Land of the Free".

Scott Murphy from All 90s Action, All the Time and New Horror Express is back to discuss another Steven Seagal DTV flick, this time "Black Dawn." A sequel to "The Foreigner" that wasn't meant to be one, this film, like so many Seagal DTV flicks, has an interesting history. As we discuss the bonkers ups and downs, that strange history plays into a lot of what went wrong--which with Seagal DTV means it's often oh-so-right.

It's our 200th episode! We're joined by Mitch from the Video Vacuum as we look the new Megan Fox Netflix film "Subservience." We start by discussing the place these Netflix movies fill in the film ecosystem compared to previous eras. Then we get into the movie, which is a mix of "Fatal Attraction" and Philip K. Dick, with Megan Fox turning in a great performance.

In this episode Sean Malloy of "I Must Break This Podcast" is back, and we're discussing the recent Van Damme DTV effort "Kill 'Em All 2." Before we get into that though, we look at the first one from 2017. Was this a film that was worthy of a sequel? And then with the second film, we look at what worked and what didn't, and where we think Van Damme goes from here.

"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode I look at Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the first segment, before I look at the first six films in the phase, I look at the intervening year or so between "Ant-Man" and "Captain America: Civil War" and some of the important moments in comic book movies. I also get into what my thoughts were on the MCU at that time. Then with the six films, I look at the ones I liked best, and what made all of them work. With the second segment, I look at the two Avengers films and the impact they had on comic book movies as a whole, including the two MCU films that come out between them. Finally, I wrap by looking at the overall legacy of the MCU Infinity Saga.
