Meet Joe Davis. He's a North Minneapolis resident and nationally touring poet and speaker, frontman of the funk/soul/spoken word ensemble The Poetic Diaspora, and co-founder of the monthly event series H-Cubed: Harrison, Healing, and Harmony. He's also served as a teaching artist at many high schools and universities, including Luther Seminary (where he earned his master's in Theology of the Arts). Tune in to hear Joe talk about his connection to North Minneapolis, why he writes poetry, his spiritual beliefs, and more! (And be sure to listen until the end of the episode to hear a song by Joe Davis and the Poetic Diaspora that will be Due North's theme song for the rest of the season.)
"Raw" is written by Joe Davis and performed by Joe Davis and the Poetic Diaspora. Visit JoeDavisPoetry.com for more.
