Duke crushed Carolina on Saturday... no, not that Carolina, the Western variety. The Blue Devil defense overwhelmed the Catamounts, holding them scoreless for 7 minutes early in the first half to make it an easy afternoon of hoops watching for Duke fans. The Boozer brothers, both of them, were the stars of this one and the Duke Basketball Roundup podcast has a breakdown of all the things they did to help Duke to a convincing victory.

Also on this episode, the podcast dudes talk about a tough loss for the football team at UConn. It was an exciting, back-and-forth game that wasn't decided until the final seconds. Perhaps more importantly for Duke football, a couple other top ACC teams lost on Saturday meaning the the door to the ACC championship game is wide open for the football Blue Devils. The Duke Blue Devils were able to surge in the second half to defeat the Texas Longhorns in the Dick Vitale Invitational, and we recap the first game of the season on Episode 765.

Donald and Jason begin with the headlines from a game that was a tale of two halves in many respects. We then get into the good stuff, from the team defense to Cam Boozer’s second half to Isaiah Evans hitting a bushel of 3s to keep Duke moving forward. We love some of the things we saw and the fight we showed in once again overcoming a slower start.

We then get into the things to improve, and there were plenty from the first official game of the season. The team will certainly look to get better as they dive head on into the season, with Western Carolina the next test this weekend.

The Duke Basketball Roundup dives into one of the most thrilling college football games of the year as Duke took down Clemson 46-45. Manny Diaz needs to be nicknamed "stones" for the gutsy calls he made on 4th down and in going for 2 to win the game. Jason and Donald loved it and, because it all worked, he looks like a genius ;)

Maxime Meyer made a surprise announcement this afternoon that he was committing to the Blue Devils, and Donald and Jason quickly discuss the addition of Meyer to next year’s roster. The 7’1” Canadian center has been moving up the ranks quickly, and there’s a lot to like about the upside he possesses.

After the break, we touch on the disappointing news of Kyle Singler’s arrest for his alleged role in a dispute with his girlfriend. We’ve sadly had to discuss Kyle Singler’s mental struggles that have continued to persist for most of the year, and this news only adds to the hole that Singler needs to emerge from, and we’re hoping he starts with the help he needs to turn it around.

Finally, a note: check your feeds on Friday. The 2025-26 Stats Game will be dropped then as we get ready for the start of the basketball season!

Duke’s offense has been good, but the team needs to get off to a good start if they want to beat Clemson on the road for the first time in a long time.

Well, that was fun! Duke went on the road to a raucous Tennessee and bested the Volunteers 83-76.
