When you enter life on your own, having freedom can either be good for you or bite you in the tail. Over the past four years, it spun me into rock bottom and I had to pick up the pieces. It also made me realize that I had to define who I was and how to take care of myself.

As we near the end of the year and work our way to ringing in 2023 in a few days, a few weeks ago I have accepted the fact that doing what I need to do in order to protect myself is OK, acceptable and sometimes appreciated in order to maintain optimal wellness and protect others.

One common trait of autism is the fact that many thrive off of routine and some can be very rigid to it as they can be to many things in life. While over the years I have been more flexible with my routine in many cases, it is what defines my day and keeps me going.
