Adam Payne is a senior political analyst for Business Insider, and today he's on the show to discuss journalism during two of the most historical situations in modern times, Brexit and Covid-19! How has coverage had to change between the two issues, what kind of different public pressures are being felt, as well as the similarities and differences in the difficulties of reporting on these two historic events. Thanks so much to Adam Payne for coming on the show!

Joining me today is comedian, writer and Co-editor for gaming satire site Hard Drive Jeremy Kaplowitz. Hard drive often described as the onion but for the gaming community is a fantastic magazine, with hilariously ridiculous headlines drawing massive attention and appreciation across the internet. Jeremy and I in this episode discuss the political influences in their work specifically from a left wing perspective, the difficulties of satire and dark humour in a crazy world and the success of their presidential candidate Ace Watkins, who's hoping to be the first ever gamer president. Thanks so much to Jeremy Kaplowtiz for coming on to have a super interesting chat about their success and where they aim to go from here...

Joining me today is US/UK political commentator and host of the fantastic podcast the Hardy Report. In this episode we discuss Edward's perspective of the 2020 primary, which candidates he wished could've gone further, evaluating the Bernie or Bust movement, is Trump awful enough to convince someone to vote for Biden? Predicting the 2020 race as well as analysing the failings of the USA's handling of Covid-19, is it all down to Trump or are there more institutional issues at play? Hope you enjoy two British people being far more invested in American Politics then they ever should be!

What is the relationship between journalism and politics? Especially during a crisis such as Covid-19. I alongside BBC Newsnight's Policy Editor Lewis Goodall, discuss the important role that journalism plays in the political sphere, and explore the issues of challenging the government, when there are cries for unit during a crisis, where any criticism can be seen as unpatriotic. Lewis Goddall goes over potential difficulties with the relationship between the British Media and Politicians potentially alienating the public, and explains why people often feel that journalists just aren't asking the right questions. Does the media really hold off on the government? What really is the role of journalists during Covid-19? And what are the difficulties of navigating said journalism during a crisis? All these questions and more answered...
After this we discuss the future of the labour party under Keir Starmer and Lewis theorises the potential impact of coronavirus on his future as labour leader.

Welcome to a less serious episode of dutiful future, or should I say the rip-off menu podcast, where *inspired* by the off menu podcast, me and my friend Tim go over our favourite ever, start, main dish and dessert! Forget Ed Gamble and James Acaster, the newest hosts are in town, with our spin on the concept, this being doing exactly the same thing but adding beer!
Hope you enjoy!
